Do you support the torture and permmanent disfigurement of boys, as happened during numerous permanent KNEECAPPINGS?

We Know you support the racist band Kneecap, and think there was no alternative to the murder of English MPs, and support Kneecaps call for the murder of more, so no surprise if you support knecapping also?

How are they a racist band?

If you mean anti-semitic, is michael higgins also? As he was accused of being so recently. Baring in mind, no matter what way anybody likes to paint it, Palestinian people are also a semitic people, it just doesn't suit pro israel narrative to have that pointed out.

As for the jewish groups, they are correct in condemning what an anti-establishment pop group said with regard to hamas and hezbollah, but the band were also correct in pointing out that israel is committing genocide, and it is mostly being ignored. Why have the jewish groups not spoken about that? If they speak for all jews -which they do not, then they cannot just defend the zionists, as there are jewish groups and people that are also against the genocide, they do not pretend to speak for the zionists, which would not make sense, so why do the zion groups claim to speak for them?

They are zionists first, jewish second. Anti-semitism has nothing to do with it.

Kneecap are Irish men, with Irish passports unfortunately, who wear tricolour and balaclavas, who think there was "no alternative" to the past murder of elected English politicians, and who now call for the murder of more Tory MPs?

Of course they are racist, as is anyone who supports that attitude.

Wonder if they still think the torture and horrific knecapping of boys by men in balaclavas is still OK?

Neither the english people nor their politicians are a race.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 379 ✭✭itsacoolday

The 3 men from West Belfast see themselves as Irish, and very very different to Tory politicians. Different enough to think there was "no alternative" to the murder of them in the past, and calling for the murder of more of them now.

I do not think a Tory politician would be very safe or comfortable at a Kneecap gig. People have got kneecapped (tortured and made permanently disabled) or killed for less, by people with tricolours/ balaclava.

But as I already pointed out - to crickets (of course) - several groups denounced Israel at Coachella.

Only one group has had any blowback over their words. The group that went a lot farther than denouncing Israel, to openly supporting Hamas, and as it turned out a group that also had history telling their supporters to kill Tory MPs. Which includes those like Paul Bristow who have called on Israel to stop the war.

So anyone who claims that Kneecap are being criticised just because they’ve criticised Israel either knows nothing or is lying.

Anyone who supports the right of a group to shout “Up Hamas Up Hezbollah” at concerts, and to call for democratically elected MPs to be murdered has questions to answer, yes.

The sad truth is that lots of Irish people are racist but they tell themselves it’s ok because they’re only racist against English people. Especially in Northern Ireland. And sometimes against (white) Americans too - though that’s more of a southern thing IME.

Wonder if they still think the torture and horrific knecapping of boys by men in balaclavas is still OK?

Yes of course they do, is the only logical conclusion. Why anyone claims to think they weren’t is beyond me.

They’re not criticising kneecapping, that’s for sure.

Kneecap put the words "F**k Israel, Free Palestine" and "Israel is carrying out a genocide" up on the screens behind them at Coachella. That was enough to enrage many, many Israel / Zionist fanboys and single them out for special treatment compared to the other groups who spoke out against the regime at the festival.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 379 ✭✭itsacoolday

By supporting Hamas, who carried out the 1200 Oct 7th murders, plus 250 kidnappings and many tortures and rapes etc, thus igniting the current conflict, they enrage many.

They are not concerned about other conflicts around the world with more casualties than Gaza. If they were at the music festival Hamas would have murdered or kidnapped them too.

No excuse for Racist Kneecap calling for the murders of politicians on a neighbouring island who they do not like. Bad enough them being of the opinion there was no alternative to the murder (by others in tricolour balaclavas) of British politicians in the past.

    But how many cheered Hamas?

The whataboutery to launder Hamas's image into not being terrorists is hilarious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,671 ✭✭✭volchitsa

    That’s ALL they did? Really?

Very strange. How then to explain why Greenday or Darkside had no problem? Saint Levant made a speech about the “genocide by Israel” - no problems. Blonde Redhead played wrapped in a Palestinian flag - no problems.

But you want to convince yourself that shouting “Up Hamas” is no different really than all of that?

If that’s what you think, then just say that you too support Hamas. Don’t worry, you’re not alone in that in Ireland. Sadly. This Kneecap thing has made that very clear.

But they didn't shout UP HAMAS at Cochella.

Yet they were singled out, primarily by Sharon Osbourne for some reason. And then that got traction.

The UP HAMAS was shouted 18 months ago, and was obviously either saved for a time it was needed, or else their footage searched through to find something incriminating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,333 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

The imagery of "F**k Israel" on the screens was very striking and much more impactful than anything Green Day or Darkside did at Coachella. The videos containing the Hamas and the Tory MP chants weren't even published for some time after this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 379 ✭✭itsacoolday

Even though 99.9% of attendees at a Kneecap concert were / are probably pro-Kneecap, I wonder will any other footage emerge of racist or sectarian chants from Kneecap gigs? We know they used to sing " maggies in a box etc"....would be surprised if the only thing they ever said about the prods / English was the only good Tory is a dead Tory / kill Tory MP etc. After all, they name themselves after a torture method used by other men in tricolour balaclavas to permanently disable them, and they have never distanced themselves from that.

i'd rather support a bunch of lads trying to raise awareness of genocide myself. all this fake outrage and digging up gigs from two years ago - all to slate a band because people wont own the message

I didn't say you were an Israel supporter, I raised a query based on your posts on the matter at hand.

The issue of Israel is not a deflection, it is central to the reason they have been at the centre of the manufactured outrage of the last week. The comments they made, though foolish, came to light precisely because they are taking the stance they have on Gaza and they have correctly focused on the hypocrisy of many politicians and 'leaders' such as Starmer and Martin. If Kneecap were shouting F*ck Russia you can be damn sure there would be none of the focus of the last week.

I find your statement about 'performative support to countries that have nothing to do with me' bizarre and frankly myopic but it does explain your approach to this matter. Is all support for 'other' countries 'performative' in your view?

I'm not sure if you've any evidence to back your opinion that Kneecap's support is performative, it's easy to throw out lazy pejorative statements like that. Furthermore, you continue the narrative with your opinion about 'piggybacking on a distance war' - again an opinion with no evidence but your phrase 'distance' is rather telling - as if what is happening in that area is not important, relevant and central to geopolitics today.

    As for your 'real' questions

    1. Who knows whey they made their comments - they only know that but groups and musicians throughout history have made comments in the arena of performance, it doesn't justify them but it happens.
    2. The made a statement of apology, if you wish to interpret it as insincere that is of course entirely up to you, but ultimately it's irrelevant the fact remains they apologised.

The Racist band Kneecap ( course they are racist as they are Irish men in tricolour balaclava calling for the murders of democratic elected politicians they do not like in England ) only present a very one sided and exaggerated narrative of the conflict in the middle east. Not surprising as they said UP HAMAS, the people who invaded Israel on Oct 7th, murdered over 1000 civilians, kidnapped 250, and ignited the current conflict

Do you ever denounce what Israel are doing? Starving and killing thousands of Palestinian men, women and children?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 914 ✭✭✭Dr Robert

What Hamas did is nothing compared to what Israel have done over the years.

Both sides are disgusting for killing civilians.

Not true as I pointed out to many an anti Irish racist in England.

I'm still waiting to see these Kneecap comments everyone else has such confirmed opinions on. Are they viewable by the public yet ?

You need to look up the word racist as you are not using it correctly on this thread.

Kneecap - the band, the personas the shouting and the controversial statements are all an act. Nothing more. One of them wears a balaclava that has a tricolour on it. That is all part of the act. They do however believe that genocide is being committed, which in my opinion is far far more concerning and distressing than a hip hop/punk act shouting a few things in one or two of their gigs to around 1000 people, if even.

As for the act. It is working. three weeks ago they were still and underground act more or less, with tickets to their gigs being easy enough to get. Now they have entered the charts on itunes, spotify and amazon in brazil, argentina, italy, germany and japan in the past week.

They are not the first and will not be the last to court controversy. Sinead o'connor ripped up a picture of the pope, bodycount had cop killer, nwa had f**k the police, black sabbath were accused of satanism and had war pigs, and so on.

Don't mind the fake outrage from people about this. The same lot would be giving out if free speech and expression was punishable in any other instance

Freedom of speech doesn't extend to supporting terrorist organisations and calling for politicians to be killed as has happened twice already in the UK.

They can express opinions all the like once they don't encourage others to violence.

    Glazers Out!

Do you truly believe that any charges will come from this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,671 ✭✭✭volchitsa

So your take on this is that Kneecap are so dangerous to Israel's war effort that they had to be taken down in a way that wasn't necessary for anyone else who did the same thing but less successfully?

That is positively hilarious. Delusional, mind. But hilarious.

    None whatsoever.

It is arguable that the name of the band is insensitive. Being kneecapped is a life changing and traumatic experience for anyone unlucky enough to be a victim of. If its an attempt at humour it's a pretty miserable attempt. It seems fitting Gerry was happy to be pictured with them. Or is it fitting? Oh that's right Gerry wasn't in the IRA. Maybe he just likes to keep himself in with latest cultural phenomenon.

Kneecap are racists because they are Irish people / Irish passport holders (unfortunately) and they consider English Tories a different race , so different that they believe there was no alternative to murdering them in the past, and they said the only good Tory MP is a dead one, and they urge people to kill them. Some people do kill MPs, there are some killed almost every decade. One song Kneecap also like to sing is "Maggie in a Box"…the hatred Kneecap have for many English people is very real.

Of course they also hate the Jews. As someone else said, the day after the Nova music festival massacre, Kneecap posted a photo of themselves grinning from ear to ear alongside the words: ‘Solidarity with the Palestinian struggle.’ The bodies of the many hundred of ordinary Jews butchered by Hamas were barely cold before these rappers from Belfast seemed to give smiley support to the militants who did it. ‘Palestinian struggle’, they called it, when what the rest of us saw was a straight-up pogrom in which Israeli youths were raped and murdered without mercy at a trance festival made into a slaughter zone. In surrounding Israeli villages and houses Hamas raped and burnt alive and killed and kidnapped Jewish men, women and children, even babies.

If Kneecap are not Racists with a capital R, I do not know who is. At their concerts Kneecap whip the attendees into a frenzy of faux virtue by getting them to chant ‘F**k Israel’. And what other music group in the world has ever called for the murder of democratically elected MPs in another country? A threat carried out in the past unfortunately by other Irish Republicans in balaclavas, so very sinister?

You missed the post where I quoted you. I will acknowledge that you chose to ignore it. Two more questions in that case.

What would it take for you to denounce Israel?

Are you of the opinion this all started on Oct 7th?
