Did Ciaran not accidentally stab and kill Tessa too? What's he on about to Mark saying he'd never have hurt her?

Wasn't Ali another one of the loves of Dean's life? Wonder will he get back with her while she's there? Or maybe the Ram will get a look in 🤔

    Is Carol, Allies mother?

They look about the same age.

Speaking of age, Lorcan looks about 38... Not 18

Allie is Carol's daughter in law. She was married to Carol's son Lorcan Snr when he died.

Perhaps they did but assumed it was a car backfiring because they're not used to hearing gunshots and didn't imagine that a gun would be fired in McCoy's.

Soo Fair City are going to get more use out of the prison set. I actually enjoy the 3 lads and its a change from the feckin community center.

Its Fair City though, soo naturally there are glaring problems.

In prison are the inmates allowed walk around and into each others cells?

The Prison gaurd, he looks the part but whats he at strolling around

"hello, hello, hello, what do we have here then boys? "

these are pretty hardcore criminals, kidnapper, murderer and an arsonist and all 3 are potentially psychotic....you would imagine he would be taking plenty of precautions around them?

I'm no expert on the prison system, but I imagine that Tyler would be held in a remand centre, not among hardened criminals in Mountjoy.

Also, you would think he would certainly have received bail if the only charge against him is setting fire to an unoccupied van.

Elaine doesn't seem concerned at all that her 2.5 yr old son witnessed his daddy murder his auntie and then witnessed his daddy bury her!!!! Poor little Oliver

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,329 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

It's weird that she is not absolutely freaked out by the fact that she was living with a killer for the last year and that he buried the body of his sister in a field.

One other thing: the national media would be all over this story. A fella kills his and buries his sister, then holds people hostage in a pub and shoots his sister-in-law (!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,025 ✭✭✭endofrainbow

She certainly has. She looks older than Carol.

is it just me but I’d love to go for a few pints with Tyler 😂😂

They were 'together' during covid. Walking around six feet apart. It was ridiculous.

Yeah i would have expected Nina, Laura's journo ex gf to be hovering around every corner trying to get a quote from Elaine, Dean, Damo, Sash, Dolly and Tommy.

Elaine has presumably been sharing a bed with Mark since he killed his sister and, as mentioned, let their son witness it. Granted the kid would have been just over a year old at the time, it's still so wrong. I don't get how she's so OK with all that's happened and advocating for Mark's mental health. She keeps saying "it was an accident" and "he didn't mean to do it". I guess Laura's death was an accident, but burying her was deliberate as was letting others like Georgie and Tyler be put in the frame for it. Carrying a gun was also a deliberate choice. So she cant really be saying he should be forgiven and get a light sentence for everything he's done since. I guess it could just be her coping mechanism e.g. she has to believe it isn't Mark's fault otherwise what does it say about her marrying a killer and raising a kid with him without knowing what he was like.

I think it's the writers not stopping to think how normal people would behave or what events would occur after such an event. Elaine hanging around Carrigstown and coffee shops is not realistic at all. Not only did he murder his sister but he also held people hostage at gunpoint and shot someone. She should be very angry and annoyed with Mark not sympathetic. She should have headed back to Galway or at least have a relative in her company looking after her. Her lack of concern for her child is not realistic at all.

When you think about this murder storyline its so ridiculous. A character who wasn't in the soap murdered a character who wasn't in the soap - I don't see why the writers done this and dragged it out for a year. If somebody just started watching fair city 6 months before Laura's murder they wouldn't know who Laura and Mark even was. Now they are trying to drag it out even longer with this prison nonsense.

Yes where is Nina to investigate

I think Elaine might have known it was Mark all along, she doesn't seem fazed as others have mentioned

Not ridiculous by Dean's standards though. He fell in love with "Vicky" and never met her in person so even if him and Ali got back together again and always stayed only being 6 feet apart it'd still be a big improvement on that 🤣

I hope Ali is back to stay, I like her and she will cause lots of issues and rows. I'd especially like her and Kira to maybe set us business together and watch the sparks fly.

I if Lorcan and Victor will end up friends due to their English accents, London Vs Manchester Vs Dublin.

The kidney/spleen/gunshot doctor isn't a patch on Bob's brother, bring him back!!

last summer they paused filming for a couple of months and had the episode output down to 3 for a while and sometimes they even only did 2 a week if there was a match or other event on that clashed with FC's broadcast time. I presume they'll do the same this year and there'll be weeks where only 2 or 3 episodes are inflicted on us instead of the usual 4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,230 ✭✭✭RoTelly

No that was due to the scandal at RTÉ it was part of their "cut" backs. and nothing is clashing this Tuesday or last.

I don't watch, I only see news about the schedule change. I know the week after next is Eurovision so they will break for that.

Aren't the champions league matches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays this month? Even the UK soaps get moved around for soccer games. FC doesn't air on a Wednesday so it the match that day wouldnt affect it. A lot of channels don't air new content and just throw on a rerun of something when there's matches on because a lot of households could be watching the match. Not that I think there's a huge overlap of Fair City viewers and Champions League viewers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,230 ✭✭✭RoTelly

No, I was looking for them next Tuesday but no match on RTÉ2. Not sure about previous Tuesday nights when the repeated the Beanz show.

Also you are right to say both ITV and BBC move around soap for sports but general that is for the Euros and the World Cup, and I don't think EastEnders takes a break for the Eurovision.

Was shocked to see a second bed in Mairead's room. The writers/producers must have been reading this thread.

Also we finally got confirmation Tyler sent the "eye for an eye" card, but what was poetic about it? He didn't commit the murder so it the message doesn't make sense.

Wish Dean and Ali would cross paths to at least acknowledge their past

Good to see a soap mother getting tough on their offspring. Usually it's shouting and roaring saying my so and so would never do that.
