    Guaranteed in so far they receive the stock that has been allocated to them.

    Their pre-order T&Cs state:

    The official launch dates of items are subject to change, Smyths Toys cannot be held responsible for deferrals or delays in official launch dates.

    While we will endeavour to accurately indicate restock / back in stock dates for pre-ordered items, these dates may change due to circumstances outside of our control.

    So in reality - there are no guarantees!

    But in my experience Smyths - never had an issue with preorders.

    Preorder usually done in batches/phases anyone that has already preordered either online or in store should get theirs on day one.

    If a new window opens you won't be getting it on day one for certain.

    But then, there is the Day 1 series of updates before you can do anything with it, which is a pain

    No chance I'm going in a midnight if there is an opening Dublin City Centre is crazy, if you have a pre-order in Smyths it will be kept for two days so I'll get mine when I can.

    Seeing miniature camera potentially being available for handheld mode I'm hoping Nintendo do a use your phone in Bluetooth mode as a camera option too.

    What day one games is everyone getting?

    Mariokart, Zelda BOTW, Fast Fusion and quickly followed by Cyberpunk for me. That may keep me going to Christmas if I add a sports game.

    Mario Kart is the only game I’ll be getting at launch, as part of the bundle. Maybe fork out for current game upgrades if they’re a tenner and make a difference, Metroid Prime possibly.

    Ah yes. Just tried to the pre-order link out of curiosity on the IE store and its only giving me an option of EU plug (UK option greyed out).
