It will be a few more weeks until they start making calls for the next course. They also need to clear everyone that they are looking to place on that course, probably another 4 weeks at least before any offers are made. Keeping fingers crossed that I make the next course

so, I withdrew before my PCA retest. I reapplied in 2025 campaign, reactivated application and just went and passed PCA so looks like I’ll be joining everyone shortly

Anyone currently in the college? When do you get paid when in the college. Does it kick in right away when you’re in training? Including NITA?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 475 ✭✭Si_zx10r

As far as I am aware, it does, this was asked before. Paid monthly and NITA is included

This is from the police recruitment page no mention of having to pay to stay

There is no obligation for a Student Officer to reside at the Police College during the Training Programme. You can request to stay at the Police College if you wish, however there will be certain criteria that you must meet in order to qualify for accommodation (e.g. you have to travel a distance of 35 miles or more, welfare issues etc.). Those granted a room are only permitted to reside Mon-Thurs. Permission for residential students to reside over weekend periods will be considered in extenuating circumstances and on an individual basis.

You do not have to pay to stay in GV. based on the number of free rooms there is the 35 miles limit is also slightly flexible aswell however, the place is pumping with students so I doubt there will be an excess of free rooms lol

just out of curiosity, has anyone had any awkwardness from their GP practice in relation to getting the medical forms completed?

Asking because I have had nothing but issues by the reception team

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭MagicHighlighter

I’ve heard a few people on here getting awkward people to deal with lol! I had no issues with mine signed and got it back again within 2 days 😂😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 240 ✭✭Boneyard2002

the receptionist I have dealt with from previous experience for a medical and now this one, every single time looks at me like I have 10 heads and gives me a dirty look, and makes the whole process awful. I did try raise a complaint but not worth it at all.

Mine was difficult to get sorted. I didn't know i had to complete the first few pages so they let it sit for a few weeks until I chased it, i had phoned a couple of times to chase and then they rang and said they don't do these unless I get a full assessment carried out by doctor and it would be 12 weeks before they could do it etc I went through the person over phone and so they came back said pick form up, fill in my bits and they would complete the rest and it would be £80. Was a nightmare

If yous can even remember… how long was it between your AC and getting results?

Mine was about 5 weeks later but it probably won't give you much of a gauge on waiting times. Your a/c's are running through to July I think and they won't dish out results until they finish, only the highest scorers from memory

🤣🤣 I wonder when they are gonna start doing calls clearing folk for the next upcoming course? Do you think they'll leave it until the days leading up to calls? Been a couple of weeks since last calls, you would think more would have been cleared by now to get numbers sorted for next course

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭MagicHighlighter

that’s what they seem to be doing at the moment, telling folks they’ve only passed vetting few days prior to the calls going out.

I’ve said before at this stage I do think whoever is left has passed vetting as loads on here have failed vetting. So I think it’s just the case of letting people know when there’s courses coming up

vetting cleared end of Feb got the call in April. Think the next course is July so induction will be June I would say calls will go out in May

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 475 ✭✭Si_zx10r

I have it penciled for around 13th May for next calls. Was kind of hoping they would start clearing people before then. I've been so stressed waiting 😂😂 last contact i had they advised no further info required and aim to update candidates of their results ASAP so hoping I make the next upcoming course 🤞

there are more people due to complete their PCA retest. Should be in the coming weeks. I don’t really think they’re going to rush people through

I seen they’ve made a telegram chat in the 25 recruitment forum.

Thought it be good idea to make one up for the June squad. Send me an PM if you’d like an invite 😀

it’s a lot of cross fit training. Mainly a lot of running. Always starting with a 1km warm up
