Just got the call!

Unsure whether to take this risk as my current work place has been good to me so would not want to throw them a bad one if I were to leave without a months notice, also do not want to run the risk of being jobless for a month if I just put my notice in and then just leave.

yeah that’s a tricky one as your not 100% guaranteed a spot and as your current employers have been good to you, you also don’t want to leave on a bad note either!!

I am indeed, and everything has been super quick and efficient. Eager to get started but I think it is best to wait for July intake.

Thank you, I think if I don't hear anything for July course I'm maybe just going to withdraw from the process. Been going on too long now for me. Been stressing waiting on clearance etc and by some miracle people are getting cleared in weeks and others like myself waiting longer than it's gonna take to get fast trackers through the 2025 recruitment campaign start to finish and into GV training.

I’m coming up to 1 year from vetting been sent off, Iv already sent no changes back for medical in December, will the medical expire at all at some stage?

I'm Honestly considering throwing the towel in too.

I don't mean to put anyone off, but with the way the process has been handled, the low numbers, the data breach and just the raised stress of the job and poor work/life balance, I just don't see how giving up my current job is worth it. Low numbers means I'll be in response for years with no movement/development to anything else.

I know I'd love the job in itself, but my heart just isn't in it as much as it was. Been going on way too long.

Don't think I could live with the thought of what could've been now we're at the final stages if I go in and it's not for me I'll find something else it's the employee's market for Jobs at the moment

Amen to this - the process is gruelling and long…or, at least for some. There can’t be any vetting anywhere else in the world that takes this long. Only the PSNI.

It happens everywhere. My vetting in the MET took nearly a year… and I know people in the process for the Gardai and it’s similar. Every case is different.

it can’t be the same as the PSNI’s vetting is specific to the force. Nonetheless, I’m not against enhanced scrutiny considering some of the recent incidents; it’s more, how many decent people getting fed-up and pulling out because the comms are non existent.

The MET etc have all up the ante following on from the Wayne Couzens situation.. PSNI and police in the UK are all under the same level of UK standard vetting - RV CTC. Every case and person is different. But a lot of it comes down to simple resources. You might have a team of 3/4 people (if even) dealing with hundreds of candidates. So painful…. I could never go through it again 😂 - but can I just say, anyone reading this and in the vetting process. Stick with it and make your decision when you get an offer. What have you got to lose? You lose nothing by sitting waiting (only patience lol)

yes, though I got a call from recruitment after I made them aware that I was giving it a few more weeks at which point I would be withdrawing my application. Stick it out, was their response.

Probably been asked before, but could anyone advise how long between your AC and getting results it was?

Also am I correct in saying you get your score before your merit number?

Im in the run for the 2025 campaign, have done my AC and just waiting on results.
