Where do you find out the current merit list figures? I recall it being posted before…it’s a pie chart iirc.

I’m putting these questions here as I assume nearly everyone in this thread is very familiar with the merit list and how it works.

Does it work on a first come first serve basis? In other words, do they follow through with a handful of applicants before moving on to another?

I’m assuming that those selected on a fast track after the AC are dealt with first and foremost, but once the final merit list is formed and handed to the PSNI…does the fast track still apply, or is there a lot of movement between fast track applicants and those who have simply passed?

It would appear that your merit number will determine the order in which you complete the managed stages - excluding fast track candidates.

But once you’re appointable you will be leapfrogging anyone who is yet to be, with a higher merit number than you.

Eg, your place 100th on the ML and your mate places 50th. You mate does PCA, etc etc before you, but you are made appointable before them, youll start GV before them if there is a spot.

And in regards to the movement, the fast track appears to be the top performing candidates in a set window.

Technically, the top performing candidate could yet to have attended their AC. Or everyone in the second fast track batch could have done better than the ones in the first.

It appears Deloitte have just processed anyone who has passed the AC undoubtedly.

Once the final ML is passed to PSNI in August, they will work through the remaining candidates in merit order.

Id also say if X number of candidates are appointable they will look at their merit numbers and invite them accordingly, regardless as to who was fast tracked or not.

ML number determines when you get called forward for pca and medical and submit your vetting. When your vetting clears is when you become appointabel vetting can take up to a year to clear so ML number goes out the window

Any know how long between medical and getting results it was?

Does anyone know if the August intake is full?

email them asking for an update and say your feeling disheartened about the process and consider withdrawing your application

I have emailed them quite a few times to request and update and express my frustration. I don’t want to hint at withdrawing at all incase they pull me out. I just get the same response basically saying my vetting is ongoing and they will update when they can.

I said about withdrawing and I was cleared vetting in 2 days after waiting 8 months

there must only be a couple of intakes left sept/oct and that’s the 2021 merit list finished!
