that’s the thing he’s against some fella who’s just a number for the record there’s no need to taunt and ridicule so much. It makes him stand out though. If he has that much confidence in beating Cameron then the rounds shouldn’t matter at all. If he has designs on winning titles they’ll all be 12s

Liam Cameron has a couple of videos with boxing kind media, he’s had a rough life with his daughter dying and the drink and drug addiction and fair play to him for turning it around

I hope he beats Ben, the showboating is fine if you’re a quality boxer like naz years ago but we have yet to see him display any real skills

some quare silly stuff with Adelaide and jamey earlier at the presser. Hrgovic nicknamed Joyce the fog. I did like him at one point but I’d love Joyce to beat him now. He was actually much mor lucid than in recent times

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,241 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

I watched the press conference and that jeamie tk max fella throwing the table was like a temu chiisora 🤣

Hrgovic reckons he was fit when he got the call and just needed sparring and if that’s the case he should get Joyce out of there quite early and I think that will be the end of joyce, he’s too slow and stiff and now age has caught up with him big time, he looked terrible against kash Ali and mediocre with Chisora

    He’s 13/5 at the bookies

Temu Chisora is a bangin line 😂😂 👏

Was ludicrous altogether. Such garbage the two of them were shouting at one another. Badly learnt script.
I’m not sure Hrgovic is all that himself but the more recent version of Joyce has been woeful. The loose clothing indicates he’s in brutal shape too and this is the best payday he could get. If he gets ironed out mayyyybe the Whyte fight still happens

I think Whyte will get the Chisora fight myself, they have similar styles to make it a slug fest

if joyce loses he will be 40 and finished I think

Maybe not something that will catch too many headlines, but there was a very important card in Dublin last night.

Having done 7 successful shows at the Red Cow in the last year and a half, Jay Byrne hosted a promotion at the National stadium last night, and I've read it sold out.

It was also shown on DAZN, although I didn't see much promotion for it.

However this gives a real platform for domestic boxing south of the border. Providing opportunities for fighters who aren't on big promotional deals and giving them a platform.

I feel a vibrant domestic scene is important for growing interest in the sport as well.

Hopefully this means more televised shows of this scale, and bigger to come in the capital.

Really not a good look for Whitaker that his team really doesn't seem to fancy doing 12 rounds. It's early In his career but a loss after the mess in the last fight would be extremely damaging for him.

that issue was handled very badly by boxxer who issued the wrong contract, it’s now agreed by everyone to be a 10 round fight

Why this was even in tbe public domain is ridiculous, Ben shalom was made aware of the issue early doors and should have sorted it by either paying up or getting Whittaker to change it, it’s like Ben shalom is happy to look like a fool and make his fighter lols scared to boost the fight

not sure the 10 vs 12 would have that big a bearing on the outcome. I expect Whitaker to win convincingly this time round as much as i want to be wrong. Think Liam had his chance last time and was very unlucky

for the Cameron camp it was more about getting more money or they would sue for breech of contract

maybe so. Not a lot of difference between 10 and 12 really. If Whitaker is to unravel it will happen anyway. Whitaker needs a statement win and I think he’ll get it

I’m hoping to see Cameron win tonight. Whitaker is so unlikeable.

Expecting Whittaker to box to a clear points win unfortunately. Just needs to be efficient with his energy.

    That's an early stoppage

Everyone far too happy in the ring for my liking.

The ropes kept him up before the stoppage, shouldn’t that be a count?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,379 ✭✭✭squinn2912

bad call from the ref for me. He was still defending himself and not getting hit with anything that hard or clean. Suspicions

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59,686 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Maybe early, but Cameron didn’t look in control when defending himself, and wasn’t firing back. Kind of has himself to blame

Anyway, won’t be long before this pr1ck gets exposed again..

I thought the stoppage was too quick for me and the speed at which Ben shalom got into that ring was incredible, he went straight to the Cameron corner to gloat

Cameron is around British level so as soon as the insufferable prick steps up again he will get splattered, the likes of Lyndon arthur should handle him and I can’t see him being world champion

Boxers seem to think Andy lee is like a cheat code to being a better fighter these days, hamza Sheeraz also joined up with Lee

Nice interview with Liam afterwards where he said he is not saying it was too early as he didn't want to take anything from Whittakers performance.

Chalk and cheese himself and Whittaker.

Shalom was saying Whitaker is world class. Stick him in with Bivol next then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,785 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Shalom is even more insufferable than Hearn or Warren. Terrible promoter as well. Sky boxing has been mostly poor since he took over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 861 ✭✭✭reclose

And don’t get me started on his **** ring walks that he seems to think are special.
I can’t remember disliking a boxer so much.

Realistically, at what level or who will beat him first?

I can see Lee being a good fit for him if he’s coachable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,785 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

There's a few decent fights at domestic level for him. Put him in with someone like Zach Parker next.

Are people actually going to buy this PPV on Saturday?

Total joke of a fight. Pure marketing scam.
