A Limerick man here but Waterford had some really lively forwards who looked promising, especially the two corner forwards who were direct.

would ya rather a wounded or buzzin Clare coming to Walsh park in 2 weeks?

It dosent matter we need a result and we owe them one. Our record against them is shocking since the round robin started

Having a stab at a starting 15 for Clare game

    O’Brien

    I. Daly

    Prunty

    Ryan

    Fives

    De Burca

    Mark Fitz

    Leavy

    Sheehan

    St Bennett

    Barron

    Prendergast

    Hutchinson

    Kiely

    Patrick Fitzgerald

Subs…sh + K Bennett, Padraig Fitz, Curran, Lyons, Walsh, hogan, Kenny, C. Daly T. Barron …

    Presume Austin wont feature?

the back six is not as strong as other years. C. Lyons a huge loss as you'd move back mark Fitz and that would be a stronger overall feel.

Anyone know if more tickets are going to go on sale for Clare or Limerick game? In previous years tickets were put on sale in the week before game if not taken up by clubs or season ticket holders so hoping same might happen. The demand for Munster championship tickets seems to be very high this year though.

    did anyone get tickets today?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,831 ✭✭✭914

Nope, seems very limited and very few gone to clubs, I believe Clare have a large number of season ticket holders this season.

Hopefully the week before plenty becomes available

Makes you wonder are you now better off with a season ticket rather than being a club member

clubs will get them this week. Let my own club secretary know I’m interested was told should be plenty

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,831 ✭✭✭914

Yes I'd be hopeful a good few tickets won't be taken up by Clare supporters will will free up tickets for clubs

As a small first world problem, the Waterford season ticket holders should be allocated covered stand tickets for home games. Worked out ok last year with good weather but getting soaked as a reward for being a season ticket holder at your own home game seems on the cards this year.

So it all starts today. If it’s anything like last year we are in for an epic few weeks with a roller coaster of emotions. Hopefully we can break our duck and get out. Having listened to all the pundits it looks like cork limerick Munster final and then a battle between the other three for that last spot (though no one has tipped us to get out of Munster which is fair enough given our record in round robin and also having been playing in 1b)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166 ✭✭Pudz2180

if the pundits are correct and it’s a 3 way battle between ourselves Tipp and Clare for third spot then I think we would want both cork and limerick wins today. If one or neither of these happen it will make our chances of getting out of Munster a whole lot harder

if todays results go as expected, Cork get over the line in Ennis and Limerick take care of Tipp. Either way we have to win the home game against Clare plane and simple, they’ll come down here fighting for their lives in a must win game and we face Limerick 6 days later who will be on the back of a 2 week break.

Clare are on the ropes ; I expect Waterford will finish them off next week.

Might have to rethink that !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,432 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Clare robbed there. He played an extra minute for no reason

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,653 ✭✭✭decies

unbelievable game of hurling not sure if draw is good for us or not . We will have to win next week and take it from there .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 gunners200

unbelievable game, anyone that wrote off Clare this year are deluded, still an unbelievable side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,426 ✭✭✭Mastermcgrath

Jesus lads the intensity of that game was something savage. Its a fair step up for us next week from the likes of Westmeath and Carlow in 1b to that

All to be revealed but a draw can often prove to be no good to either team. Us and Tipp last year the most recent example.

O Brien, Hayes and Duggan/Shanagher showed the benefit of a physical player who can win ball playing inside. Kiely needs to start there for us.
