If we had a defibrillator in the house or shed I have one son who would try to jumpstart his car with it.

Some parents are the worst!!! My daughter sat her LC last year and had big dreams of going to Trinity her course was 410 points and I think 18 places, and god love her she did higher in everything, but she had an absolute solid back up plan…. she do a year in something else or she could do the course in a different college for lower points, but a back up plan in place is essential so if they don't get the points for their first choice their world doesn't collapse, and some of her friends where more concerned about how'd they tell their parents that hadn't got the points.

when I was doing it there was a bonus for higher math's for any B3 or above grade, but was only for Trinity and UL at the time I believe

Don't be telling lies caller. She didn't miss out on a course by 1 point, as she claimed.

you need students that are able to understand and complete the course. Not simply doubling the number of places !! Not sure why Joe can't grasp that. There are many many useless courses they can apply for, but there are also many that you have to have a certain level of competence to be able to complete

Does this caller maybe think it's unfair? She's being very vague about her opinion.

There's also many many courses that are jam packed on October the 1st which are half empty come January the 1st.

I met a guy I was in school with at the bus stop about a 3 months after I left school, he was doing Arts. Never saw him again until a friends birthday a couple of years ago. I asked him did he stay on with the course because I never say him again. Turns out he quit after 6 weeks.

I love how it is completely lost on all these mammies (apart from Tara who seemed to be the only one with some sense) that that they are absolutely setting up their little darlings for a big fall when they get older. Life's unfair. There isn't room for everyone on every course. You just have to get on with it.

Was that a male Nollag and a female Nollag. How confusing!

The consequences of giving everyone a medal in sporting events, they are not fit for real world disappointment.

Joe blowing smoke up his own backside. Nobody else is going to do it. Says he was only 1 of 3 people from Ballyfermot who went to Trinity College from a population of 40,000.

very true. my nephews are playing under 8 sports, and the official line is there are no scores kept, but really there are. And the young lads know if they win or lose at the end !!

I couldn't believe the no scores being kept when I first heard about it, a friend who has always been ultra competitive in sport can see his own kids losing interest in playing pointless games with no scores being kept.

Do these mammies call the driving test centre when their darlings fail the driving test too?
