Men are less likely to tell a woman to get out of the mens toilets but women are quick to call out a man or tell him to get out of the womens toilets because theyre uncomfortable and they have a right to their feelings and a right to want to protect their boundaries. There is nothing stopping anyone from walking into any space but gendered spaces are a deterrent.

As for changing rooms, theres normally someone at changing rooms stopping people from going into the wrong ones..

    Wait…you're female?

Nonsense. A sign on a door doesn't stop anyone walking in wherever they want. It's not magic.

If an actual man walks into a women's toilet, what do you think will happen?

Its not nonesense just because you say it is. Allot of women are uncomfortable and dont like the idea of gender neutral spaces, they feel unsafe and gender neutral spaces have been abused by opportunistic men in the past. Ive already given examples in my previous post, you can disagree but its not anti trans to advocate for women and girls safe spaces.

I should rephrase, gender neutral spaces arent the problem, the eradication of female spaces is the problem.

In my view, any Rape Crisis Support Centre, should be non-discriminating.

Beira's Place deliberately excludes all men and non-binary people from it's service and also refuses to employ men and non-binary people - an employment practice which would be considered discrimination in this country.

I'm surprised there are men on Boards who are openly declaring how wonderful they think JK Rowling is for doing this. Normally they'd be up an arms complaining about such exclusion of men and discriminatory employment practices that favour women only.

Personally, I think it's disgusting, because I believe JK Rowling didn't open Beira's Place out of the goodness of her black heart. She did it to make a point of excluding men and non-binary people, because she could. Clearly the only victims of sexual violence she considers worthy of her support are women. F*ck everyone else.

And men praising her for it, lol - it's like turkeys voting for Christmas.

I am sorry that you suffer. I truly am. But your illness affects you. You can easily reach out to those you are in a similar situation via the internet and garner all the information you need without a necessity to have a day of awareness. I believe that days of awareness for absolutely everything are regressive, despite the self professed progressive people thinking it creates some unity.

If it is to raise funds, have at it. I think things like that are amazing once the funds are properly appropriated. But just a day of awareness for people who aren't interested in sex is as relevant as a day of recognition for people who dislike garlic.

I don't see why that is hilarious. It's extremely accessible for people to use the internet. I don't recommend doing it while driving though. But humour is subjective I suppose.

Don't be silly. They are the most tolerant and kind people.

    "moot"

But anyway, you shouldn't have. Male and female toilets are clearly marked and the fact that you must have walked past a urinal makes your claim that it was accidental very hard to believe

Men aren't allowed in women's shelters either. Pretty standard. Is that discrimination? Do the people that run domestic abuse shelters for women deserve to burn in hell too?

🤣🤣 You think I went into a male toilet on purpose? For what reason? To assault some lad is it?

The big difference is you don't find people defending people who make anonymous comment's like that, while everyone marches out to defend JK Rowling irrespective of what she says because she is "on their side". Their cognitive dissonance means they cannot conceive of a world where two separate views can possibly be held at the same time - that they have a legitimate view that they cannot understand and are uncomfortable with the "trans" issue and that the likes of JK Rowling are cruel and vindictive in their approach. In their minds there are only two scenarios - all in, and all out. Thats why people with moderate liberal views are automatically equated with people who take it to an extreme level like "JK Rowling should burn in hell". To allow for nuance in opinion is to throw a seed of doubt on their own absolutism. The world would be a much better place if people can acknowledge that two views can be held simultaneously. It is possible to not understand aspects of sexuality and still exhibit compassion and empathy to others.

So you can't actually prove that there's a negative impact on those directly affected so now you've moved onto objecting to days around chronic illnesses.... 😂

    Awareness around something is regressive?

The thread has reached peak crank.

Do they also refuse to employ men and non-binary people in any capacity?

Look, you're free to throw your support behind those who practice such discrimination if you please. But at least know what exactly you're supporting.

last time I did I stopped when I saw all the women. And they stopped and looked up at me from the sink. I just went "I think I'm in the wrong room" and everyone burst out laughing.
