I'm not in this comp but going to hijack the thread just because you seem like the people who might know the answer. I'm moving to another department on promotion as an AP. I've not taken any AL this year and won't have by the time I move.

Say if I move in May will I only be entitled to 15/16 days leave for the rest of 2025 or will I still get my full 30 given I haven't taken any of my HEO AL?

You will carry used leave from your old department to the new one. This will include any 2025 leave on a pro rata basis for time worked after 01 April until your transfer date. In your new department, your annual leave allocation from them will also be on a pro rata basis from your start date until 01 April 2026.

Please note that some departments may request you to use up any excessive annual leave allocations, or may say you can only carry over 10 days maximum from 2024, plus whatever you are entitled to pro rata for 2025 for example. In such cases, you don't lose the leave, but your outgoing department would be expected to allow you the time off to use up excess leave before your start date in the new department.

    Hope that helps.

Hi there.. zero word on Sligo. I’m pretty high on OOM but not heard anything about short listing. Apparently there are no requests from any department for AP’s in with PAS at the moment and interviewing will only take place once PAS receive a request for an AP

Thank you. I'm in an ok position on OOM too but if no roles come up it could be years before they even interview lol. A shame but it's just a waiting game isn't it.

Have you see the document where it says how many have been hired in each location over the years? It's a good indication of how long it may be before people are called for interview.

Can I ask what the maximum score for the shortlisting was, or did they provide those details to you? With 4 questions, I thought maybe they would mark out of 100 each, the total being 400, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thank you. I hadn't seen that. That's very helpful

Yes, each was out of 100. 273 and higher was taken forward in Dublin. 170-ish and higher from Mayo.

    Any sign of Wexford moving?

I had hoped to hear about shortlisting by now as westmeath seems to consistently have one of the higher levels of appointments every year. My oom is high so i know there's no movement yet. Not in a rush for interview but would just like to know if I've been shortlisted. Pity they can't send out shortlisting results so at least people know where they stand

You will be told if you are being brought forward for shortlisting. They will email saying OOM over xxx points brought forward. This will happen once they have a vacancy.

Well first week on interviewing over. How did people find it? I've literally no idea how I did.

Congrats on getting through it. How did you find the questions under the new capability framework?

Hopefully you won't be long waiting for results.

The questions I found were much the same as competency, just swap in capability for competence and have your stars ready to go.

is there any decent resource which outlines what the structure of the questions are for someone coming from outside the civil service?

    Hi

Anyone else in Cork get offered Clonakilty interview. Don't think I could handle the commute along with a new job.

Great to see there is some movement with the Cork panel.

@veadar100 I assume you have already been through the shortlisting stage 2 as you were offered an interview?

Do you mind me asking where , roughly, you are on the OOM for Cork? I've heard nothing yet

A question for those that have gone through interview. What policy was the presentation based on or is it different for everyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37 InvisibleInk

Different for everyone and you have a choice of 5.

    Thanks for that @InvisibleInk

Hi all, how do we think the Dublin list is progressing? Do we think they'll take a second batch of 250 candidates? Ie if I'm near 500 on the open OOM, do I have a chance?
