Everyone who had their application reviewed in Stage 2 which I think was the first 260 people in Dublin. If you're outside of this your OOM is the same as the application wasn't reviewed but will be down the line.

    That's my understanding.

    Great, thanks for that update!

well done and good luck to everyone who got through. I was just outside the stage 1 cutoff for this batch to progress to stage two. Based on the info here today I don't have much hope for progressing at a later date. If they're keeping another tranche of already stage 2 shortlisted candidates for a further batch of interviews, I doubt they'll do another pull from the stage 1 panel again. At least it looks like they're aiming to do these comps more regularly, almost annually. Can't believe they dragged the last one out so long….

    Anyone heard anything in Cork?

Based on last comp I think they will get to OOM 900 on this one by end of the comp. Clearly depending on vacancies and how many pass/fail each round.

Was lucky enough to pass and will have interview in March. Getting all a bit real now.

Congrats to all those who made it to Stage 3 and best of luck with interviews & practical exercise! Hopefully we'll see some movement in other regional counties soon.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea around timeliness? I scored 270 so just short of the 273. If I am due to be called in the next batch is that likely to be weeks or months ?

Beamer, Asked PAS and they said they weren’t able to predict.

what was your oom, out of interest?

I scored 285 so am in the 1st batch for the interviews. I've been trying to figure out how many were called for the 1st batch of interviews and based on my OOM. The number of candidates between 285 and 270 seems to be around 38. that being the case i'm guessing that only the top 40 (ish) in the OOM were called in the 1st batch. Based on previous comps, the 40 interviews will take about 2 weeks and the results of those would most likely be released by end of March/start of April. 2nd batch would then likely be called after the successful candidates were appointed.

So…. to answer the query - at this is a pure guess…. i'd say batch 2 would be called in May/June.

Thanks for that @garyc_76 that's really helpful. Best of luck with your interview.

    Thanks for this.

It does seem versus the previous competition that the batches/sub-batches are a fair but smaller. I presume this is just decreased demand from departments?

Are you 10? I scored higher than 285 but am outside the top 10 (not by much)

No I am within top 10. I scored over 285.

    Correct. 9th on OOM

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11 garyc_76

Actually... my answer to the OP question about 2nd batch is based on incorrect assumptions and calculations. There is 2 OOM. I was only focused on the inter D OOM so the numbers being called will increase. Not sure by how many. Which means the time to interview everyone will also increase.

Therefore I haven't a clue what I am talking about or what PAS are going to do but good luck to everyone who made it this far 🤞

I think they are taking 45 through, but again just a wild hunch. No.47 was just outside the score so I think they cut off at 45.

I am through to next round with oom in the late 100s so it sounds like it might be autumn before I get called for interview if they are just doing 40 ish in each batch.

Would love any feedback on the practical element, it’s not a presentation or they’d say? Good luck to all going for interview in march, would very much appreciate any updates or feedback on the process.

Seem to have missed the boat on the Irish language jobs. Sent a message 15.40 Wednesday, had to reply by 10am Friday. Oh well. I take it from the "I missed the entry deadline by 4 minutes…." thread that there's no point in replying late.

Said if I passed the Irish test, got offered an Irish language position and didn't take it, I'd then be out of the general AP competition as well. Have enough to be doing getting ready for March anyway. 😬

I think there is. A huge shortage of Irish language so you can email in and chance it. Might be worth a shot.

Yeah, I might. I'd like publicjobs to do some kind of webinar about what kind of jobs there are with Irish. Is it a regular job, in any department, or more likely something Gaeltacht related. If they said there was more of a chance to work from a more rural office with an Irish language job I'd be sold. Only picked Dublin for the better job opportunities. I'm hoping my own department will keep me. For that I'm probably better off not on an Irish panel…

I got placed 1058 on the tests. Not so great.
will I even get an interview ? Raging with myself for not practicing .. my form is good so I thought I’d get bumped up a lot but seems like they may never even see it .. lesson learned.
    coming from private sector …

I have significant management experience but I guess these tests are quite the obstacle. Genuinely didn’t get that part. Thought I’d sail through .. silly me
