Trump has already been impeached twice.

US politicians are too corrupt to stop the kleptocrats. The billionaires backing Trump have likely been shorting the markets and will make a killing from the crash, just like Putins oligarchs did

    Chomsky(2017) on the Republican party

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

Unless he personally feels that pain, it matters not. Sadly, I don't think he will see it the way everyone else does. He'll cut a deal with a few inconsequential minnows and maybe one or two larger players like the UK to claim victory. The rest of the world will look back in abhorrance until a new world order can be established. Hopefully one with wider trading outside of the US.

Putin is probably one of the insider readers. Crash the market there Donnie we'll make a mint.

On a more serious note has the White House released details yet of how he finished in his golf club championship finals yesterday?

Apparently, it was a tie between Trump and another, at the Trump Open, at a Trump course.

They've probably realized people are laughing at how he always managed to "win" despite every video of him golfing makes him third rate....

Yeah, I do wonder where he finished in the one person competition

    Vance's "popularity" doesn't exist.

His followers won't show up to a rally like Trump's will.

He is only more dangerous in the sense that he is younger and hasn't served two terms yet.

Bloodbath in the markets all round the world today.

It would be mildly amusing for the EU to retaliate at 19% and have Ursula von Der Leyen hold up a poster with "Tariffs Charged to the EU" , "EU Discounted Reciprocal Tariffs" and one entry on it.

No doubt you'll also see the usual spin using the mathematics skew of a recovery versus a drop at some point too if and when things manage to turn

Like the S&P 500 on Friday

    • Opened at 5396.52
    • Closed at 5074.08
    • Drop of 5.97%

If we had a flip today and a recovery

    • Opened at 5074.08
    • Closed at 5396.52
    • Increase of 6.35%

So you can recover your losses and be back to the exact same starting point and percentage wise you're actually up from the amount that was lost.

I would have to go to the Oxford Dictionary as a first move and I probably would not find the word that I would be looking for. Probably will be in it next year when someone creates it!!!!!!!!

The only video I've seen of him playing golf was the one with Bryson deChambue and to be fair to him he definitely wasn't 3rd rate.

Unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say about him.

Trump claims a handicap of 2.5 or 2.8, according to which reports you read. People who know about these things say that he's not so good as would justify that handicap, but that he is quite good.

He's probably a better golfer than he is a president. But that's setting the bar pretty low.

plus he practices being a golfer a lot, unlike being an POTUS which is the job he doesn't take seriously.

He isn’t popular and I don’t see him winning an election against any half decent candidate but he is an insidious individual who would be a proxy for furthering Peter Thiel’s agenda.

Some light amusement in this gloomy time. I liked 3, 15 and 22 best.

From all accounts Trump and his caddy cheat a lot. Think Goldfinger and Oddjob.

Balls kicked out of rough. 10 foot putts conceded. Not great with the shot calcs etc.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

I doubt very much if the Israelis will be doing any negotiating with Trump, or he with them, why should they? They'll be looking for "reduced in price" goodies from Uncle Don.

That's the thing. Big companies know that this guy is an idiot and anyone with half a brain in the future would reverse the majority if not all of these stupid economic policies. Anyone trusting a word that comes out of Trump's mouth is even dumber than he is.

If someone’s golfing with him, you can bet they’re handing over hefty wads of cash for the 'privilege', in return you get a political favor. He's charging 5 million USD for a 1-on-1. Trump won’t lift a finger for you if you embarrass him on the golf course. He’s a textbook narcissist - humiliation is a deal-breaker. Trump only cares about 1 thing, winning.

    Interesting times ahead.

Oil prices really dropping this morning, although part of that may be the Saudis leading overproduction to knock their rivals like Russia and the US out of the game. Supposedly Saudi Arabia flooding the market in the 80s really undermined the USSR.

It will make it easier for the ECB to drop rates while in the US Trumps tariffs will only drive import inflation.

A finance lecturer on Morning Ireland was saying that one man trying to control the global economy without any checks and balances from Congress is seriously bad news - there's a touch of an out of control megalomaniac about it all.

Apparently the EU commission have a 99-page list of US products they intend to place tariffs on. Already the vested interests don't want bourbon whiskey taxed, embarrassing behavior from us, the French and Italians really

Why is it embarrassing? Europe sells a lot more wines etc. to the US than it imports. I think it's like 16 times more or something. The EU should make sure its response actually makes sense economically.

Canadians have taken to turning American products upside down in supermarkets, so as to notify fellow shoppers where the products are from and so make it easier to boycott them.

Good to see the Daily mail is keeping to its standards on telling the truth about Trump. He told a group of journalists on AF1 how he was doing on the tariffs front and what the European and Asian and world leaders were asking him for. He said that China had a trade deficit with the US and he would like to have it the other way around, the US selling China more than China sold the US.

The Daily Mail couldn't resist putting in the line that Trump said the world leaders begged him for a tariff trade deal, though the words are not on the AV recording of the Trump speech.

Had a browse thru X this morning - specifically at those responding to Trump's casual quip "Sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something"

It's full of the usual "This is what I voted for" posts - no it isn't - just like Farage, Boris Johnson et al moved the goal posts after the Brexit vote was won, Trump did also - There's was no mention of taking medicine or short-medium term pain during his election campaign - He told them all that other countries would pay these Tariffs and they swallowed it!

Then there's a cohort who seem to think their trade deficits is their federal debt.

I used to waste my time responding to these people but I cant be arsed anymore.
