With a delivery estimate of 17th of April I forgot to say, so if you're in a rush might be better off buying somewhere else.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,983 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

My 9070 XT said delivery in April and yet arrived 1 month early.

Sapphire pulse available at Overclockers at the moment

The sapphire pulse comes to 857e on checkout for me on overclockers. I managed to snag a non xt pulse for 690 delivered from amazon, pretty happy with that didn't want to go through hassle of changing psu etc. Will be here monday hopefully :)

Just snagged a Saphire 9070 Pulse for about 546 euro on ebuyer and it dispatched! Say a prayer for me for getting it over the border! 🙏

That's either a price mistake or they've sold it to you without Vat and the delivery company will collect that before delivery.

i haven't had much game time with the new 5070xt card, but just wondering has many experienced issues? it was far from a plug and play experience. remove all presence of NVIDIA/update bios/delete drivers in safemode/update chipset/change MB settings etc etc. I think i'm out of the woods but need to stress test to be sure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,024 ✭✭✭Simi

No but I was coming from an AMD card, so just DDU → shutdown → replace card → power on → install latest drivers. Smooth enough sailing since. What kind of issues have you been having?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,633 ✭✭✭Laviski

did the same as yourself but coming from a 2070 super.
once installed when playing an FPS when automatic shooting frames dropped to one. when i deleted display drivers in safe mode provided me the biggest recovery. other steps removed the last few stutters/frame drops i was getting.

I've read issues going from Nvidia to AMD and vice versa can be common. It's good you got sorted.

With AMD driver updates it's best if you tick the factory reset box and restart once you've finished installing. Helps prevent weird bugs. If you have any more issues you can try AMD cleanup utility https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/GPU-601.html or sometimes even just reinstalling the drivers without removing them can help fix things.

My EVGA Supernova 650w PSU comes with a "VGA" to single 8 pin pci-e cable and another VGA to double 8-pin pci-e cable.

Would it be safer to use both cables i.e. leaving 1 8-pin connector disconnected,

Or simply use the single cable to double 8-pin connectors?

It will be to power the Sapphire Pulse 9070 non XT which has a tdp of 220W.

Just curious as to which people prefer.

    Thanks for the replies guys!

    That article was great.

I'll probably leave the daisy chain cable in to save some space.

my 9070 non xt pulse arrived today. Quick and dirty -100mv undervolt and it's boosting to 2900mhz+ from stock 2500mhz.

had same experience with my 7800x3d, reducing power actually lowers temps and highers clocks. very happy

Are you finding the -100 stable in games? Can't go much beyond -40 with my nitro xt in actual games or I get crashes, benchmarks I can go -150

Well it's been almost 9 years since I bought my GTX1080, and after receiving bargain alerts everyday for about 3 years on hotkukdeals and all the other pepper network countries sites....

    It's finally here!

    PXL_20250401_110114380.MP.jpg

    All in for about €568.

The VAT was included on the invoice and at checkout, as to whether or not it was a misprice I'm not sure, but everyone commenting on hotkukdeals who ordered on time received theirs also.

    Feck!

Hit a brick wall with the upgrade.

Longshot - if anyone has a spare and original PCIe 8-pin or 6+2 cable or daisy chain cable specifically for the following models of EVGA modular / semi-modular PSUs, please pm me:

    B3/B5/G2/G3/G5/G6/GA/GM/GP*//P2/P3/P5/P6/P+/T2

I have an EVGA Supernova 650 GA power supply I bought from Amazon warehouse a few years back and used it with the GTX 1080.

It came with some screws missing and I got a partial refund but it's only now I realized it was missing the daisy chain cable also!

So I only have one single 6+2 Pin PCI-e, and need a second one or daisy chain to power the RX 9070.

I also leaned today that the pin-outs are different on modular PSUs, and coolmod are the only 3rd party people seem to trust.

I might just have to sell the existing PSU with the GTX1080 and order a new power supply.

I have some EVGA cables at home so I'll have a look tonight.

PM me your number and I'll send you pictures of the pin connectors so you can match them up because I can't remember what PSU I had.

I really really appreciate the offer but I decided to just buy a CORSAIR RM850x from Amazon in the end. Went for the 2024 model with ATX 3.1 and PCI 5.1 spec.

I know I could look up pin-outs for the connectors on the cable and use a multimeter to test voltages but I didn't think it would be worth the risk of frying the card if something went wrong.

    Thanks! 🙏

I'm on the non xt 9070. I find -90mv +10pl to be stable, and normal pl and -70mv also. It's the sapphire pulse version so there's a decent amount of room for OC'ing i'd say compared to the more expensive OC'd models.

Edit: I've settled on not touching power limit and using -70mv undervolt, it seems to get more consistent and higher clocks than -90mv and +10pl because the gpu hotspot goes a good bit higher with the added power. Fairly consistent 2800mhz+ from 2500mhz boost stock so happy with that! Played dead space for hours without a crash and passes 3dmark steel nomad without problems. Temps seem to be hovering around 60c which seems fine :-)

I haven't actually gotten my 9070 XT stable with an UV in games. I got to -50mv and gave up due to crashes. Must try -40mv. Like you it was much more stable in benchmarks.

I realised today only one fan was spinning on my sapphire pulse, I turned off pc pushed down and both are working now. When installing I def noticed it wasn't as flush as it should be.

I have a tomahawk b650 board and it felt like one of the heatsinks was in the way somehow when pushing down. Case is be quiet 500dx. Seems like there's a common issue with these cards where they don't seat correctly. My temp dropped a tonne with the second fan working from 60c+ to high 40's now when in use. Might invest in a vertical mount if I run into issues again.

It's very strange tbh, I've overclocked every GPU I've owned and usually benchmark tools give you an idea of stability (maybe dial it back a little for games), but the 9070xt is completely different, stability @ -150/165mv in benchmarks absolutely no problem, but then games I have to dial it way way back to like -30/40mv to stop hard crashing. Maybe it's a driver issue and will improve with maturity 🤷‍♂️ either way extremely happy with performance coming from a 1080ti
