All of those saying that about Biden have since come out of their closets and strangely ended up being full on supporters of Russia

There’s one in particular in parallel Russia thread who even tried to paint Russia as a normal democracy

The chances of an average normal person in Ireland being supportive of both is somewhere same as the chances of pigs flying past the Dublin spire

Jd has announced he intends to travel with his wife to Greenland. Quelle surprise.

Hopefully he is met with a nice protest to tell him and Trump what they think of all of this.

The "visit" to Greenland is very sinister.

Why would the National Security Advisor need to visit Greenland? "We will take Greenland for our security".

Together with the Energy Secretary? 'We will take all your natural resources' presumably.

This bullshit from Vance: “speaking for President Trump, we want to reinvigorate the security of the people of Greenland because we think it’s important to protecting the security of the entire world.” Vance is a nasty little bully who seems to truly revel in being a position to dominate others. A coward.

    They are not welcome.

The Greenland Prime Minister has accused the Yanks of foreign interference and has said “for the record, the Greenlandic government has not issued any invitations for visits, either official or private”.

Danish PM Mette Frederikson has said “It is clearly not a visit that is about what Greenland needs or what Greenland wants from a visit. Therefore, no matter how we twist it, it is a completely unacceptable pressure on Greenland, the Greenlandic politicians and the Greenlandic population, but it is also on Denmark and thus the kingdom.

Who needs enemies when you have an "ally" like the US? Just a disappointment Goldberg didn't stick around in the Signal chat to catch these cavalier bastards planning the Greenland invasion. **** the US.

CNN will probably be accused of fake news again so that'll be nothing new from Trump & Co. It's reporting that several of the senior admin team in on the text chat and a senior GOP Senator are casting Pete Hegseth as the person who initiated the text chat. Conclusion is that Trump & Co think he is the least likely to be missed if thrown under the bus.

Distraction politics and "get the foot soldiers busy" move by Trump. He's signed a sweeping executive action to overhaul elections in the United States, including requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and demanding that all ballots be received by Election Day. The order says the US has failed “to enforce basic and necessary election protections” and calls on states to work with federal agencies to share voter lists and prosecute election crimes. It threatens to pull federal funding from states where election officials who do not comply.

It would seem He and the GOP elders are also thinking of going even lower in dirty fighting, with Johnson and others allegedly thinking about scrapping part of the court system entirely, as they think it'll be useless making appeals against court rulings.

Trump seems to forget that those federal funds come from the states. He keeps **** around, watch them tell him to pound sand and withhold taxes.

One of the agreements following the US/RU discussions:

"......… The United States will help restore Russia’s access to the world market for agricultural and fertilizer exports, lower maritime insurance costs, and enhance access to ports and payment systems for such transactions."

    But Leinster House 😂 😂

I've seen some bizarre examples of whataboutery posted by your good self in relation to Trump over the years but this might just be the best yet.

    Bravo 👏

Why are they letting them in the country? Don’t give the plane permission to land and tell them to piss off back to their own basket-case of a country.

They haven't felt nearly enough pain for the sh*t to hit the fan yet, the Trump supporters are more than happy with what is happening and the 2/3s who didn't vote for him are appalled but not directly effected yet, most democrats seem to be hanging on to the hope that the mid terms or next election will end it all and thing will go back to 'normal'. I think once they realise the elections are a shame and won't change anything then they might act.

Some of the advisors on that chat were in the Kremlin last week.

    Maybe I’m being paranoid…

Kinda mental that people need to second guess themselves about a matter like this. But no, you are not paranoid. It's a thing that happened… because **** it I guess

It was all well and good that this conversation was had about bombing a country that can't defend itself (the yanks specialise in that), but had this been a conversation about China or Iran, this could have turned in to a major international incident without even an attack being launched. They got lucky this time but I'm sure the security services of better equipped countries will be into this crew like ticks from here on.

And? It’s still a sovereign territory. Or else just let them play their games in their base.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,802 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

One of them was in the kremlin when the conversations were taking place. They’re a bunch of traitorous pricks.

Why not let them land, but have a long interrogation, ideally 36 hours after landing and holding them in a cell with just a few cups of tea to survive. Then deport them anyway.

If its an acceptable tactic for the US to deny people entry, I'm sure the Greenlandic folk can do similar?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,547 ✭✭✭twinytwo

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried something with Greenland and then tried to charge to Europe for it because, according to them we benefited from it.

I heard a very interesting theory on Trumps fascination with Canada, Greenland and Panama.

Basically, Trump wants respect and wants adulation and knows that overtime everything will eventually come out and that he will be viewed poorly. As he already is by roughly 50%.

But to be known of the POTUS that expanded the US? That will ensure his legacy is seen forever. He will go fown in history as one of the most influential POTUS in history given that he achieved what almost no other POTUS achieved.

That the economy, inflation, jobs, healthcare etc will all be forgotten about or argued about but the fact he gained the US valuable territory can't be denied and will forever be associated with him.

It is the ultimate property play.

You do realise that between the base and where majority of the population lives lies one of the worlds largest islands with an icecap and no infrastructure

His reason to go is to stir up separatist shite with the population

I would laugh if he goes to the IS airbase and then spends a week dog sledding across the ice with his immigrant wife

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

From a European perspective, best we can do is get our own house in order. One of the big challenges is business growth which obviously fuels an economy- large companies are playing “wait and see” before making their next strategic expansion - I think we’ll see a slowing down in the economy very soon now. It will trickle down to consumers not buying and instead increasing savings to deal with job losses etc.

“Confidence” makes the money world go around and there’s very little of that out there right now

Of course! Property is what he defaults back to as its all he really knows even though hes also terrible at it like everything else.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,928 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

the insults to Goldberg are immature and counterproductive. Come on which side are you on - the side of right/truth or the side of downright lies/ deflection/ ridicule, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. The comments from the the Trump side are COMPLETELY OFF THE WALL.
IMO the words to describe the statements from the Trump side have not been ‘invented ‘ yet !!!

and that punishes the Invader how? Europe needs to accept that keeping this US sweet is not possible. Trump has left NATO

If I was the Danish PM, I'd send some top level dignitaries to meet with Greenland officials at the exact time that Vance and his crew are going to be visiting. And I would have no one official meet Vance on the tarmac and would have immigration officials make sure to check them for all appropriate documentation with respect to travelling.
