Energy gels (usually used for running/cycling) are another thing that is now available on amazon.ie that we couldn't get before, but their prices are nothing to write home about. But maybe worth keeping an eye out for when they are on offer

I use SIS gels and I bought 30 off HP nutrition for €33, a similar pack is €48 off amazon, so even with the €10 off it's more expensive. Also to give HP nutrition credit, I placed the order yesterday at 1pm and it's out for delivery this morning.

If your looking for smaller quantities, Holland and barret have them for €1.20 each Apparently

Just noticed a small difference in pricing between launch day and this morning. I've a list of items in the basket that I'm checking for UK and IE Amazon pricing.

While almost no items in my basket had coupons on the IE site at launch some have since appeared. This brings the pricing closer to the UK one.

For me (mostly smart home and tech items) UK was only favourable in pricing when coupons were available as compared to other EU Amazon sites using Hagglezon. DE or ES or IT base price is almost always cheaper but you get stung on delivery. Coupons + free delivery from UK usually mitigated this.

Here's hoping that steep pricing we see on IE site is mostly down to coupons not being available at launch and as they trickle down more pricing will come down in aggregate.

Example coupon being added after launch day: https://amzn.eu/d/eWckTZr

I'm noticing the above as well, I think it'll take a while to bed down.

The stated delivery dates are wild though some on here have reported instead of weeks they get their item within a few days.

Thanks I had a look but Myprotein is still way cheaper, especially when they have an offer on (and they always do)

it would be a great help if when posting in the No chat thread to include a description of what the item is and the price.

Prices change regularly so a bargain today may not be one tomorrow

Okay, so I ordered a bunch of grocery items, to use the welcome discount.

12 unique things. It's been split into 3 deliveries of 5, 5 and 2 unique items.

1 of the 5 shipped earlier, through UPS (for some reason), with an arrival date of April 1st.

That's 11 days away! According to maps, I could walk to baldonnell, and back home in 83 hrs :D

The other 2 unshipped, have an estimated arrival of April 4th (2 weeks haha). This is all stuff that was sold & dispatched by Amazon IE and in stock.

Teething problems with logistics? Higher volume of sales than they can handle? I don't know what it is, but it sure is a poor first impression!

I posted the same scenario with dates as long as May and c/s said it's just teething issues on the system but I doubt that. It will be getting shipped in from an EU warehouse most likely. I wonder how they plan to deliver frozen fish and chips they have listed on the site. It has to be a mistake having them on it.

This launch is one big mistake. The shoe department search filters are more or less like on the .uk site only that the shoe size filter has been removed.😂

I've noticed almost everything is just the stock from .UK anyway. It just takes longer to arrive and is a little more expensive.

I bought a soda stream that was " in stock" and delivered by Amazon. It's sat their for two days with a note saying we will email you when we can deliver. So clearly a third party.

I tried buying some MSG and solar lights for 35 euro and it wouldn't give me free delivery as one was coming from the UK.

Anyway I'll stick with my UK prime and see how it settles down.

One handy thing a boardsie posted on a thread is if you put &emi=A2QHQAREJ10JUZ onto the end of the url you are on in the Irish site it lists all the products that are in stock and available to buy in Ireland most of the time. Some bargains on M&M's compared to shops here. Example. https://www.amazon.ie/s?k=M%26M%27s&i=grocery&rh=p_6%3AA2QHQAREJ10JUZ&crid=YCB5IUPKLC7V&sprefix=m%26m%27s%2Cgrocery%2C149&ref=nb_sb_noss

Order placed sold and shipped by amazon.ie , shipped with ups . Label created in Germany, not one thing I've ordered yet has actually shipped from Ireland , all seems to be UK and Germany.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,662 ✭✭✭marcbrophy

Checked that UPS one on their own tracking site! It's coming from Italy :D

The one with 2 items shipped, that's An Post, so gonna presume coming from Dublin.

1 other part, not yet shipped, probably gonna ship from Azerbaijan haha :)

I wonder if Amazon bothered letting sellers know they were going to be listed on the Irish site. Not a hope in hell of this shipping and if it did i'll leave that to the imagination. https://www.amazon.ie/gutted-frozen-Oncorhynchus-Mykiss-Approx/dp/B0DRVZ9L91

If I'll be passionate about fish, for that price I'll get aquarium and some alive generic fish…

Be warned, the puma runners in the no-chat thread have a problem of where the memory foam insole wears down in the heels really quickly and there is a hard plastic diamond pattern in the sole that eats through it making them painful to wear unless you replace the insoles every few months.

Can't get my head around the requirements for free postage from Amazon.ie. I've selected >€25 comprising several items, some of which are coming from .UK, site says the order qualifies for free postage but when I go to checkout it's charging €3.99, presumably for those items coming from .UK.

So I ordered five items from the IE site. They'd been in my basket on the UK site. Price was pretty much the same for all of them on each site.

Had cancelled Prime a while ago so looked at signing up to Irish Prime. Offered a free month.

Ordered all 5 items together on Thursday evening. Split into two orders. One An Post, the other Amazon. Both arrived today.

Decent selection of stuff on Prime Video too, I think more available than a few months ago.

Think it must have been on HUKD, was now expensive as well 😂😂

    Appreciate the comments anyways

Just one thing to highlight that I noticed.

The €25 free shipping threshold cannot be fulfilled by a mix of different Amazon sellers - e.g Amazon UK and Amazon IE.

For example, I spotted something for a similar price between Amazon UK and Amazon IE (£20 vs €24.65) but due to the fact I'd rather just spend another 35c for free shipping on IE as opposed to £15 on UK, I opted for buying in Ireland.

Found a cheap item on IE and then realized that due to the first item being fulfilled from Amazon UK, I needed to pick another item fulfilled by Amazon UK to get free shipping over €25.

Cancelled prime today (have an alternative "box" for looking at shows, movies etc) then got an email from amazon saying £95 will be refunded in full to my debit card.

Strange as I thought I paid it monthly and now I'm getting the best part of a year's subscription back cos I cancelled. I'll take it!

camelcamelcamel won't be adding amazon.ie to their list - they don't make revenue on the euro sites so not worth their while

no reply yet from hagglezon and can't find contact info for comparizon.eu

Keepa saying that they have no plans to either.
