Really enjoyed Limpbizits set last night, it was quick, no frills and all the 'hits'. The crowd were on fire for it. Only got in around 8 but the support bands didn't do anything for me and was disappointed in the merch. The host guy was absolute torture

Hopefully Dublin will get more 2000s era bands like Papa Roach etc

That was quality. Most enjoyable Spiritualized gig i've been at for a couple of decades probably. A bit more volume on the guitars at times and more intensity on the strobes would've been nice but they're minor issues. When the first brass stab came in on Medication i instantly got the spine-shiver and a big grin across my face. These Blues was worth it all on its own. I'd like to think Jason Pierce would have an epiphany and realise that playing psych is way more fun than boring ballads and continue on this trajectory for his next regular tour. He will not though. Anyways happy to do it all again in Glasgow tomorrow, not sober, sat in a comfy seat in a nicely blissed out state.

What a stinker of a crowd though. I moved around and could not escape the chats. Even up the front where you expect it to be musos they were yapping away. Please refrain from attending gigs you selfish, self absorbed, absolute f@cking c#nts of the highest order.

Sorry to hear you were plagued with chatting fuckwits. Wasn't too bad were I was (yes there were some but unfortunately it's a regular thing at gigs nowadays to varying degrees). Agree with the strobes - would have liked more prolonged intensity.

That's great that you really enjoyed it. Good for you. I wasn't there last night. But I really like the National Stadium as a gig venue. It's the opposite of fancy, but I like the relaxed vide. Buying a few cans or bottles in what looks like a makeshift canteen.

Pity your night was diminished by the chatty brigade. The last 15 years years has seen a steady increase in that shlte. Many people in their 20s and early 30s don't give a fu@k about people wanting to enjoy the music at a gig. Talking rubbish just to be heard. If they talked low, it might be bearable. But many of them purposely shout loud just to get attention.

Really enjoyed Spiritualized last night too. Really brought that record to life. I was sceptical about the energy levels but it holds up. Crowd was okayish I guess. Wasnt as many talkers near me and very little back/forth to the bar it seemed, but I agree we couldve done with a lot more vol on the guitars. Jason's in partic was as muddy as worthy farm.

Top notch 20 min versh of Cop Shoot Cop to close was a real treat. Huge grin on J Spaceman's face at the end.

Double harmonica solos / dual-wield sax solos ftw.

@ Spiritualized - must of lucked out - no talking or beer runs around me. Two hours just flew by. I am starting to warm to the National Stadium - old school and basic but good acoustics, no wait for a drink and for Dublin reasonably priced.

"Born Never Asked" into "Electric Mainline" was worth price of the ticket. Proper throwback.

Judging by other folks experience i'm beginning to think that maybe my ears were just too attuned to any distracting influence. A few clips surfacing on youtube today for anyone interested.

Another thumbs up for Spiritualized here. Always preferred their spaced out songs and there are quite a few of those on 'Pure Phase'. Crowd was ok where I was. Hate the venue anyway but sound was pretty decent last night.

Was at Tindersticks at the Olympia last week and thought it was wonderful. 8 piece string accompaniment and a couple of lads on sax/trumpets with the band (who are tight as hell these days) made for a great night. Only one 'oldie' - 'Travelling Light' but a brilliant gig.
