Something not right there if you waiting since August??

I'm waiting on replacements too since Sept 2024 - havent got an ETA.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,107 ✭✭✭Technophobe

So you are both waiting on a full replacement mower, seems a long time..My faulty charging station (not a mower admittedly) has been replaced already…Maybe they have no stock but hard to fathom given approach of Spring 2025 for sales!?

Correct - I asked for an ETA on stock but have had no response yet. I'll need to chase and keep hassling no-doubt.

The 1st faulty mower I had back in 2023 got replaced pretty much immediately.

I took mine out yesterday and it worked great for a few hours, but then the green light started flashing on the dock and the mower thought it was outside the area. This is supposed to indicate a broken boundary wire.

I removed the boundary wire from the connector and inserted a short bit of wire instead, which I could see was not broken. It still flashed, so it looks like the problem is with the connector or the dock itself.

Will look for a replacement for the connector, which looks like a generic component? Also try cleaning the jack on it. Don't know if there are any other steps I can take myself? Will look for receipt/warranty then and talk to lidl/parkside.

Tried to contact support using the number here: https://parkside-diy.com/ie/service

It was the Lidl Ireland number, and I got a recorded message saying they are experiencing technical difficulties.

Looked up replacement dock. €88 if problem with receipt, but not in stock :/

Went to put my mower out this evening to give the lawn its first trim of the year but unfortunately the mower won't charge when I put it into the docking station.

The light on the docking station stays solid green when it should go red to indicate charging.

Funny thing is the screen on the mower says charging but its stuck on 38% and doesn't change.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Just to add the mower was indoors for the winter and the docking station was outside. I took the back cover off the dock and its bone dry inside.

Have you cleaned the metal contacts on mower and dock? I used contact cleaner on mine for similar issue.

If this doesn't work - check voltage output from the dock, it should be >20v from memory.

I had one where the output was only in the single digits even after cleaning and I had to swap it out for a spare - I haven't been back to open it up and see what went wrong.

Yes I had checked the contacts on both and they were both spotless and shiny.

I actually made contact with Lidl to see about returning it and yesterday evening I just happened to try it again and unbelievably it started charging and went out cutting as normal this evening so not sure what was up with it and how it is ok now again.

I had opened up the dock in case there was any moisture present but it was bone dry so it's a mystery to me 🤷‍♂️

Did you get anywhere when you contacted Lidl? I tried twice about the same issue but didn't get to speak to anyone.

Yes they emailed me back looking for details of date of purchase and the exact model.

It cut away again today with no issues so all good.

Mine has a vet annoying fault now where basically it always says "loop signal not detected" and you have to disconnect and reconnect the boundary wire...every day. Seems like a dock issue more than the robot. Think I will be on to service dept as it is less than one yo. Anyone else had this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 226 ✭✭NeutralHandle

Yes but it also doesn't charge and doesn't work after reconnecting.

Where can I buy the docking station for this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 226 ✭✭NeutralHandle

grizzlytools, but it is not in stock

I took "Lawnrence" out of hibernation yesterday. Reconnected everything and All seemed to be working well until I got a "battery abnormal temperature" warning via the app. It has charged to 85% which is more than enough for my garden. Hopefully it is just still a bit chilly for it after the shed but I was wondering if anyone else had got the same warning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,765 ✭✭✭CR 7

Yeah I got the same thing so I just sent it out to use up whatever charge it had left, after it finished it came back to charge and seems to be normal since then.

Thanks for the advice. I let it run down today for a couple of hours and it has now charged fully and no battery temperature warning so seems to be all good.

I got the same "battery abnormal temperature" warning yesterday on mine and like ye suggested above I put it cutting and then it charged no problem again - I wonder why this is happening.

Another thing that is bugging me and maybe it can be adjusted is that is goes home to charge when it gets to 30%, anyone know if there is a way to reduce this down to say 10-15% ? I know the buffer is probably built in so it doesn't run out of battery while it is 'returning' home.

Also, this year it seems to start cutting before it fully charges up to 100% - wonder why this is happening ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69 ✭✭mcauleydjm

I think it leaves the dock when it gets to 90% and cuts til 30% then returns. It will only get to 100% outside of scheduled cutting time, for example overnight. The 90% is from memory - either its in the manual or I noticed it.

Thanks all, ended up calling 1800851251 from a google search, this was Lidl, took detalis passed me on to Nevo (?) who took further details and said they will dispatch a replacement. I would say less than a minute wait time on the call, very staright forward.

oh cool. I tried twice and gave up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 409 ✭✭ra0044

I see that the parkside app has an update. The update has added a blade stop option that if selected stops the blades from spinning if the mower is reversing. It has also added a hedgehog protection feature that when selected stops the mower from heading out between 7pm and 7am which is when hedgehogs are usually out and about.

I haven't noticed anything else but I would assume background updates for the app aswell

Anyone know if Lidl will be selling these robot mowers in Spring '25? I bought one last year and it is working out reasonably well. Could do with another one for a separate area of lawn.

Looks like my base station is also faulty. Have 22v at the contacts and the boundary wire output but no Leds and mower doesn't charge and says boundary line fault. Out of stock as well on Grizly (80001357), anyone any idea of where else you could get a base station while awaiting a possible replacement.
