Carrion is actually good. It's a bit different but easy 1000 GS. I don't know how I got the game as I never bought it I thought it was with GamePass maybe I got it with GwG back in the day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,400 ✭✭✭sniper_samurai

It was previously on Game Pass when it was released.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,743 ✭✭✭marcbrophy

Yeah I got 1,000G with Carrion on gamepass before.

It's definitely worth a blast, to enjoy munching on a few humans :D

Any idea what kind of game Indiana Jones is? I'm assuming a Tomb Raider / Uncharted mix or so?

Not sure if I'll have any interest myself! Never even seen the movies!

CTR and Indy are the big ones this month. Anyone else find it annoying how padded these announcements are now with games going to standard? It's great for them and all but kind of expect this to announce new games to the service.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,400 ✭✭✭sniper_samurai

By the look of it the closest example wrt how it plays would probably be Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay which was made by Starbreeze, the previous studio of Machinegames founders.

Escape from Butcher Bay is probably the best part of that franchise.

The game is available on Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Unfortunately it isn't backwards compatible and no longer available for purchase on PC but as with most games it can be found without too much difficulty.

Cool, I'll give Indy a blast anyway, should be good :)

Whats the best way to get to play Indy game without splashing 500 notes on a new graphics card or new xbox?

I have an xbox one and 3 month PC Game Pass? Can i play it with Xbox Live streaming.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,400 ✭✭✭sniper_samurai

Cloud streaming works, but requires GPU.

The game runs really well on PC, as long as you have a card with hardware rtx you should be fine. Still needs some work on Steam Deck from what I've heard though.

Im a fan of multiplayer and survival mode the odd time I play. It's a blatant rehash of SE5... But free on gamepass so how bad.

My sub is due to expire the end of the month, and it's set to renew automatically on monthly payments. It's saying it's going to renew at €12.99/month but I have GPU, which should be €17.99/month according to their own page… nothing to indicate it will renew as standard, but the pricing is off…

    1.PNG 2.PNG

Am I getting some kind of deal here? Obviously not as good as 3 years of Ultimate for ~€160, but it's like it's going to renew Ultimate at Standard rate? I'm in 2 minds, I sold the X so really only need PC Gamepass if I was to keep it, and that's only €6.99/month, but I could be tempted to get the X again if they start making decent games, as my GPU is just about good enough to run Indiana Jones on min specs and GPU prices are still stupid expensive, the recommend GPU (3080ti) is over €1k. So a X that can run stable 60fps without messing about would be a better purchase right now/in the future.

Guess I'll let it renew once and see. I'd much prefer to pay for a year, but MS want it monthly so they can change upwards and have immediate income whenever they want.

You don't need that card for Indy, if you don't go hard on the RT a 4060 is fine as long as you aren't running 4K. My 4070 runs it in 4K over 60fps without dlss as long as I keep the RT low. The 5070 is out next month for about €650 and will blow a 3080ti away. Plus it looks like the Radeon 9070 XT will be a similar price and appears to only be outperformed by the 40 and 50 series 80 and 90 cards.

Though the big loss without Ultimate would be cloud gaming if your pc can't handle something natively.

Damn I must have forgot to turn off recurring billing as I was just charged the full amount for a month of GamePass Ultimate. I had completely forgotten the subscription was running out. I know the console tells you but I must have blanked it out completely.

Regarding my post above this. Is it too late to add two 12 months core? I mean do you have to add the two 12 months core and then add the month of Ultimate. I have it the other way paid for the month of Ultimate and then add two 12 months of core.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,400 ✭✭✭sniper_samurai

Yes, you need to subscribe to Core first, the conversion rate is much less favourable if you have an active Ultimate sub, around 3:1 iirc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,885 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

Ok, so it seems I'm renewing GPU monthly at €12.99. Auto-paid the other day, set to renew again in a month at €12.99, but I still have Ultimate. Hmmm…

You'll end up with 3 accounts with 3 concurrent subs. F**k Kinguin, G2A or any other storefront selling accounts as they're extremely risky and access can be removed at any time as you don't control it.

What's the cheapest way to stack GPU these days?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 470 ✭✭gmg678

its not as cheap as it was. but pretty much the same way to do it . You buy three years of core and up grade to GPU. the conversion rate is 3:2. I think the conversion is for 3 years of core you get 17/18mths of GPU. you also have to pay for a month of GPU.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,631 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

    Hijacking this if that's ok!

I currently have GPU but paying at 18 per month. How does one stack the GPC ie can it be done via the app?

In terms of the conversion, can that also be done via the app?

I don't have a laptop other than my work one and all gaming sites are auto blocked on that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,499 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Off top of my head (my GPU is still active, so this is from 3 years ago) - you would need to cancel your GPU. Then once it expires, purchase 3 x 12 months worth of core - you can buy gift cards for this or direct from microsoft. Once done, just buy 1 month of GPU and apply that, when you do it'll convert all of your existing core to GPU at whatever the conversion rate is. You can do this on a mobile browser.

If you're feeling brave you could try this by buying the core credit and GPU vouchers from a different country which can be much cheaper again - but you'd need a VPN to apply the credit then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,961 ✭✭✭EagererBeaver

Thanks. That was going to be my next question - can I buy core from anywhere or EU only?

Ended up getting 20 months of GPU for €161 after I gathered all my various codes. At full price of €18 a month, can't complain too much at all.
