Ryan should have started. Plays well next to byrne. No irish player really played well today

Can see the pile on to Prendergast is in full swing.

Cannot believe how we approached that game at times. The decision making was awful. We had to play far more territory. Gifted France field position and they didn’t have to work hard for at least 3 of their tries.

At the end of the day, the yellow cards are what cost us. You can’t play 20 mins down a man to that side. France the better side on the day. Don’t think it needs to be over analysed.

you're a caricature, your goat has a terrible game, your mulleted 2nd row pulls ramos back, 2 handed off the ball for a yellow card, and an innocuous head clash in a tackle, grinds your gears…

    bye bye

The problem is, Doris was pulled through by a french player then Gardner penalises him for being of his feet

Our backs were very poor. Prendergast average, Gibson-Park, Aki and Henshaw the same. Osbourne poor, Nash worse and even Keenan was poor.

I put the loss on them more than the forwards.

We seen today why Hansen is on the team. Obviously Lowe was a huge loss.

The two non tries (O’Mahoney clear out and the one that was dropped and was not reviewed) changed the game. Momentum and scoreboard. The French were out on thier feet before the O’Mahoney one.

Touts I am hoping was getting another kick on Prendergast due to has played every game. I will not defend prendergast but it was not him or the ref why we lost.

Yeah people talking about Prendergast but McCarthy has repeatedly been naive and impetuous this tournament. We got away with his penalties in previous games but it's not good enough, they aren't mistakes, he is literally cheating cynically and not very good at hiding it. He should take a look at POM, who put in about 3 late charge downs, definitely cynically blocking the French runner but also technically committed, so could not be penalized. McCarthy hasn't the game intelligence to pull it off, he shouldn't try

Sam will have learned a lot from this game. Amazing progress for someone who is literally still going to teenage discos!

Can't understand the vitriol against the team in general. Posters drooling over mistakes by players from their sofas; players who put everything on the line for their country. This team has given us some great days and have won a bunch of silverware. There's no shame losing to one of THE great French sides. A country with THIRTY, yes THIRTY, professional teams.

why are we playing a 10 for the full 80 mins that everyone even Leinster fans agree is not quite there yet. Why not switch him at half time? This policy of Easterby sticking with Sam P no matter what now looks to have to partly cost us the 6 nations. Piss poor mgt

Want to see some new blood in the side for next week but I doubt it. It'll be the autumn before we see that. Two years out from a WC, and it isn't looking great, which hasn't been the case the last two cups, glass half empty after that reality check.

power is it exactly . They overpowered us today.

France put in a defensive exhibition, obliterating us in contact and completely owning our pack. We had no answer.

As a result, our attack was turned into crappy sideways crabbing followed by a crap kick. every single attack was the same, throw in about 3 Sexton loops per phase and an out the back pass.

Prendergast was dealt a crap hand since his forwards were eaten alive in front of him. Not sure what people were expecting.

we have a serious problem with a lack of pace. I would be happy to never see Osborne play on the wing for Ireland again, he doesn’t have it for that position. Lowe was a big loss, Nash not in the same ballpark at all.

    So frustrating watching that today.

Absolutely. I dipped my toes in this thread this thread and the comments are fairly shocking. I think Ireland fans have just been too spoiled in the last few years, we throw a tantrum when things don't go our way.

The team had a bad game. SP had a bad game. It happens. It's not the end of the world. Don't get the knives out just yet. It's idiotic to completely write off a player because of a bad match. I know people have been saying it sarcastically, but he has only turned 22, and has a long career ahead of him with, dare I saw it, plenty of potential.

Plenty of opportunities in the summer. 3 tests v tier 2. We are still playing for a championship next week

Can somebody please explain how the tackle on POM before the try is not considered foul play? Genuinely cannot understand.

I don't understand, now can we keep prendergast in the 10 position? He was absolutely ruined today. Not least he simply cannot tackle

A year or 2!! Some here never want him to never play rugby again

Peak Sexton would have looked shite today.

The forwards was like boys v men, it doesn’t matter what your 10 is like if he has opposition players right in his face the second he gets the ball.

Our attack is the worst in the competition.

I would also say, I am a huge McCarthy fan but he made at least 2 huge errors today and I would absolutely bench him next week for those alone.

I like that he plays on the edge but some of the penalties are properly dumb.

the IRFU need to do something about the crowd. Too much money for the corporates.

It's embarrassing to be out sung by 5000 french lads… constantly.

    does nothing for the players.
