A "lapsed catholic", I was struck by the number of people wearing ashes on their foreheads yesterday, I don't remember seeing it on that many people in decades.

One cut across me when I was crossing, missing me by centimetres on their bike. Another was snarky when we had to share a printer, and they took exception to me having my printing come out after theirs. The number of cranky/mean people I met yesterday was well above average, and every one of them proudly sporting their ashes.

Th I'm a recovering catholic/active pagan and not tied to that type and the god they seem to think will forgive them their bad behaviour! TH

The other weekend, my friend and her family were staying in a hotel close to where I was then, as I hadn't seen her kids for a while, I was happy to meet her and see how the kids are and how much they have changed since the last time I interacted with them.

As she is a bit of a meddler, she decided to delay her husband's friend from the game and force us to meet( she is one of those smug marrieds who wants to "spread the joy" 🙄)

Not overly happily about this, but made the effort, chat turned to how each of us spent covid lockdowns, etc, he states that he was furious that he had to halt his life for a virus that was only dangerous to vulnerable people!

As a vulnerable person I was th to put him in the rear views!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! happy that I could save myself the effort of getting on with someone who is so flippant towards ppl like me bc it inconvenienced him!

Happy happy that it crossed my mind that my computer might be able to turn an audio file into a text file, I had put it off as I was slow to load such info into an app I didn't know much about and pay for the privilege.

Not only did it turn it into text and formatted it to my liking, I asked co-pilot to break it down so I could see the nb info at the top of the doc, so I don't have to read all the fluff and just see the bits I want to see!

A real happy in a month that feels like it's endless birthdays/anniversaries/occasions that I can get something I want free!

My bloods are due next week, so even tho I have to be good, my visual cravings are incessantly incessant.

My compulsion for gooey brownies has abated and the past few days it's been intense cravings for fruit cake(pref with icing)

browsing in a local Dunnes I spotted a brack type loaf, down to 2€, not exactly what I was craving but a th none the less.

Tasting the last sip of a perfect coffee. Also, my pans are proving nicely and will be baked by lunchime and the shortcrust biscuits I baked a few days ago are really addictive.

Discovering last night that I can walk in the Exit Only automated doors at a local supermarket 😁.

They implanted the change during COVID and never changed the signage since, makes it an exploration mission to park up and go in the Entry Only doors.

some fella that keeps popping up in the ‘people you may know’ section of Facebook…. I recognise him but can’t picture from where, I’m looking at the food menu of one of my lesser visited local pubs and there are a few photos of the staff and there he is, barman or manager there…Knew I knew him but couldn’t picture it…😎

Even tho I get them done regularly, I still forget the cost of my bloods. So I left out 60€ for them this time on the basis that bloods wouldn't be any more than a consult!

Paid the 40€ when I checked in for the bloods(a learning moment), and was told there was an outstanding balance from last summer(odd as I always pay what I'm asked for, I'm religious about receipts)

Th as I still had the additional 20€ in my hand, I gave them that and I got a clearing receipt, love it when I can do that kind of thing within my budget and not have anything hanging over.

    grand stretch.

    yeah i said it.

I was very very dubious abut using eyebrow mascara as mine are a strange shade with amazon strength greys interspersed.

Tried it ahead of an nb meeting and it went on my more easily than in my practice, survived the endless glasses maneuverers and face touching.

Its been 4 days now and despite me trying to take it off is still in situ, giving me confidence for the next wear and giving me some colour back in my face(or at least one part that isn't red)

Love that science took time out to invent/refine such a thing.

Just admiring the view out the window from the Limerick to Dublin train, especially the hill as Pallasgreen.

Also I got a really nice hoody in River Island yesterday for €19 which was down from €49.

Trivial things that make you happy was definitely not the passing of two great sporting legends Eddie Jordan and George Foreman but the fact that absolutely nobody had a bad word to say about either one.
So rare and nice to see nowadays.
