Browsing books in a real bookshop, on a wet cold day, so quiet and peaceful, and getting 2, with 1 half price deal.

Went off pizza for a while there. Back on it now! Most people would be appalled by my choice of toppings...one positive about being single 😁:D

now all I can think about is ordering a pizza ^ 🫣

My friend who is enduring a messy marriage breakup is posting her holiday snaps.

Looks incredible and great to see her taking time away to be happy and getting away to a quiet corner of costal Portugal….jealous as fûck which is the TA part 🫣

Successfully repaired a guitar pedal power supply, which I had accidentally blown a couple of months ago by plugging in the wrong power supply. (9V devices do not like 24V: who knew?) One surface mount capacitor was obviously popped and the magic smoke had escaped. I didn't have the exact part, but there was space to fit a larger standard capacitor of almost the same value. It's been on and powering pedals for several hours now, and no more of the magic smoke has escaped.

You'll also hear "Monday Morning Quarterback" for someone who wishes he had a time machine to go back and tell the quarterback what to do in the middle of the game. Generally used for someone who doesn't get that 20/20 hindsight doesn't make one special ..!

Have an nct later this week and spent the day wondering where my vehicle reg cert is, as we all know they come to life and move around by themselves.

TH that was in the first place I looked when I got home from work.

I went to a three drawer locker and took out all three drawers to search them each thoroughly. It was then I spotted it was actually on the floor under where the bottom drawer would sit. Double TA that I thwarted it's evil plan to hide in an admittedly very good hiding spot.

One of the trees damaged in the storm fell on Friday night(safely), and on Saturday, the team(aka "The Right Stuff") in the area who cut up the previous ones, came out and cut this one up as well. This time, they offered it to the residents, so lots of older people now have a top-up heat source, and the rabbits have fresh sawdust for their hutches.

I use the German Amazon for shopping mostly. I (finally) decided to do some decent clothes shopping after a lot of years. I wouldn't describe myself as a slave to fashion.

Since I copped on that the seller will refund postage from returning other non clothing items - (it was a watch three watch straps that were 2mm off - so I got new ones they got a mention as well on the trivial annoyance thread)

I said - "right time to buy stuff - clothes and a 2 watch bar tools"

So I was on the site much more than normal going through stuff. But jayus those German crowd are really analytical in their reviews, covers all sorts of details. Many go to the trouble of putting images up.

I was thinking that Irish people wouldn't be half as good at those reviews. "It's grand" might be the height of it if it was alright.

Anyway fair play to those really detailed orientated Germans who -

    1. Review items on amazon
    2. Happened to find boards.ie
    3. For some reason found this thread, and this post

Edit - Fair play = Sehr Gut!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

a healthcare charity im dealing with who have had a website designed that is beyond user friendly. From setting up an account, logging on, searching, ordering and making a payment it was all of about 90 seconds and the delivery of the documents and item I need im told will take all of 3 working days only. Streamlined. 😎

So large charity organisation that relies on donations and volunteers as well as some employees can do that but our government with literally hundreds of thousands of employees can’t even develop, deliver and run that inefficient bug ridden, routinely security / scammer breached ‘mygov’ properly. 🐸

Security nice lady confiscated my storm-lighter ( you can light your fag in high winds, cost € 1.80 in Germany, didn't even know at the time as I was buying it) Anyway nice security lady comes back from office with a standard disposable BIC Lighter. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty. Sometimes I'm forced to reassess my opinion of these Humans about the place🥰

I have been missing a gold necklace of considerable sentimental value for a while. I was in the garden today and there it was in the flower bed I was weeding and dividing plants. Must have fallen off when I took off a jumper during the summer. So delighted to get it back, completely unharmed and perfect after a wash.

latest clothing order at my favourite label…

3 T-shirts and one pair of gloves including delivery for € 69 euros… all in the sale before they acquire newer summer stock.

Slight TA… orders over €70 and it was free delivery but anything else I even vaguely liked in their sale and they didn’t have my size. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Delivery just €9 anyways so no big deal. 🙋🏻‍♂️

I had been feeling a bit bad about a protracted convo I had with one of the neighbours who went on and on about how the issue was on this side of the property, with all the attendant costs no doubt.

Made conscious of a possible issue that might impact them, I decided to let things lie for a few days. A couple of hours later, this issue arose again!

Thus proving that I was correct all along and the issue is not (as I knew all along) me being paranoid/cranky/old.

Petty I know, but it makes me th that they have proven me correct and they can't now credibly tell me I'm wrong.

We're having some annual meeting at work today during lunch so lunch will be paid for. Yesterday, I asked the guy organizing the food what he was ordering. He said Boston Pizza. I've repeatedly said how dire that place it and how bad their pizza is. They have a bit advertising budget but it's terrible food and service. So I reminded him how bad it is.

Today he gleefully announced that he will be ordering from his favourite place The Copper Chimney. Happy days. It's a very tasty Indian restaurant. So, rather than fighting for a few scraps cheap, tasteless pizza, we all get our own platter of tasty and more nutritious India food. I even ordered a Mango Lassi
