Volvo ES90

I love it, the front is absolutely stunning, and the interior. The boot is rather small given it's proportions but I could live with that because it's a hatch. I hope they release an estate version. Either way, it's top of my list to buy after somebody takes 3 years depreciation hit.

Did that extra tarrif ever come on china cars from the EU, could make it very expensive here even though it's already very expensive.

It's bigger than the XC. Annoyingly wider, but I think the packaging of the space isn't great when you compare it to the EV9. I was expecting them to do a lot more with the platform.

Its disappointing that this new '90 is merely a light retouching of the Polestar 4. A bulky SUV crossover, and having driven the P4, remarkably wide, accentuated further by Irish roads.

Very uninventive of Geely, and a big disappointment for those that enjoy a traditional 3 box sports saloon profile with a bit of finesse.

The mock-ups going around were like this, so it is a let down.

I miss the old mode select dial that existed before the AAOS updates. Changing drive modes is such a pain in the arse at the moment.

The Renault 5 is jam packed with buttons. I don’t know the quality of the buttons, but they’re still something to press… which makes me wonder why the EX30 couldn’t do it. VAG, Mercedes, BMW and have all acknowledged that trying remove the buttons completely was a mistake. It’s like Volvo are five years behind on where the UI/UX for cars lies.

I get you though, had a lend of a 1.0 liter polo yesterday while mine in for a service, such a novelty to turn down the heating. A thirsty beast though compared to an EV.

Ah it should't be doing that, we've had 2 Volvo and no issues like that, Something seriously wrong if it it's rebooting constantly. Easy log in if you change the password as well if you've 2fa set up.

I'll go further then. Its not just a light retouch, its exactly the same car in 99% of respects.

And it won't look anything like a sports saloon, because the Polestar 4 is 1,536mm high, and the ES90 has an even higher roof line of 1,550mm.

For comparison, the outgoing S90 saloon has a roofline max of just 1,436mm. A full 11.5 cms lower than this new messy crossover of awfulness.

Between the 4 and the ES90, I wouldn't squint, or you'll be very confused.

Polestar have already had to introduce a basic spec car at a lower price to get buyers for the polestar 4.

Big Volvo saloons don’t have a great track record for high sales either.

agreed. You can spec one on the website now.

Base spec is ok, nothing special for the price.

Might make a good used buy and I could see them coming in from the UK in a few years at keen prices.

is it not a polestar 4 in a different dress though?

You can get one of them mid fifties now for the base model with the same battery.
