Nigzcurran thats not a bad shout, 5eur for 4k nf. Im trying out u-peeteevee at the mo and i get everything but it can be jittery now and then. The problem is nf/disney keep removing movies before i get to watch it, which pisses me off.

The hulu and ESPN options are now available when using a non US account through a US DNS (eg Getflix).

its extremely limited content but may improve over time.

it's so limited actually probably not worth even posting this.

You can get free Disney plus for a year this way.

This is a very convoluted way of getting free Disney and I found out by accident but thought I'd post it in here on the very slim chance anyone can be bothered.

I was off in the UK with work at the station of December. I wanted to order food from Uber eats and I saw they were advertising 12 months free Disney with a years Uber one subscription (49gbp I believe). Uber one also has a 4 week free trial. So I signed up, got my free delivery thinking I'd keep it as it's cheaper than a year Disney anyway l.

When I got home I had the offer code in my email for the Disney but realized it was UK only so I used a VPN and a UK card (Irish wasn't working) I had and I got my free 12 months.

When I went to use Uber one it said I couldn't outside of the UK so I cancelled it within the 4 weeks free fully expecting to lose my Disney too.

It seems I still have my Disney over a month later, so I've so far paid nothing at all and gotten 12 months free. It's been over a month since I originally got it and in my Disney account it says I have it until the start of December, 2025.

It is a ball ache as you need a VPN and a UK card, but if you're determined and have those, then you can get free Disney for a year.

I've had a Google and the free Disney offer is still on until the end of this month.

    https://www.uber.com/en-GB/blog/uber-one-disney-plus/

I did find this out by accident so I can't offer advise if you hit any problems, just tell you how I did it for myself.

I do also know you need a lapsed or new Disney account, code they send you doesn't work with an account that has an active subscription.

I signed up to the annual Uber one plan with the 4 weeks free using PayPal as my payment method. I claimed the free Disney and it says I'll receive the code via email within 48 hours so fingers crossed. Big thanks to you if it works!

do you not need subscriptions for them, probably just showing as a Disney sub for you

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 524 ✭✭✭Dublinandy3

Ah, Paypal, smart, I didn't even think of that.

It should work it did for me. I didn't cancel the Uber one immediately, I think it was a couple of weeks in.

I also, if my memory is correct, remember the email for the code going to either my spam or my promotions folder in Gmail, so check those too.

You have to be on the VPN when redeeming the code, I use surfshark, that's when you need to UK card too, for the Disney. But PayPal will probably work, maybe?

    Good luck!

I was just coming on here to ask if family plan sharing was still a thing. Is there a risk of being cut off due to not being in the same household (like Netflix)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,155 ✭✭✭the whole year inn

No , no issue so far, been running my for years with no problem. Is there a risk in the future I dont know but for now there is no problem , would you be intrested?

Household rule for sharing is active now in Ireland.

You will be relying on the primary account user to send pin code to authorise viewing if using tablet, TV or streaming device.

I’ll take a chance at it so. I’ll drop you a PM there to get it set up.

I share my sister's, got the not in the same household message, got the pin, logged in and then next time I went to watch it got the same thing again.

What do big black women have to do with sharing disney?

I have a disney account but I'm not sure if the other people I gave logins are still using it. I've never been asked for a pin from anyone but I have had to enter it myself quite a few times. I complained to Disney & they told me if I'm not at home I need to log in differently but there is no option to do that. Seems if we go out & the kids watch on a tablet it resets the home IP address so when we use it at home we need the pin.

Recently I've had to put the pin in 3 time within half an hour. Each time it kicked us out & requested it again.

Sorry forgot to update, I signed up to the free months trial of Uber one and got a year's free Disney. The free trial expired a few days ago and Uber are now trying to take the years payment which is €62. I don't know weather to pay it and get Disney for a year for €62 or not pay it and hope I keep the free Disney anyway!

Ah, did you not cancel before the end of the trial? My Disney is still going strong and I didn't pay anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,518 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

I wasn't sure what to do! Do you think I should cancel now?

Well, if you think it's worth it, no, if not, yes. I probably would. I've hardly watched it, it's just nice to know you have it.

The two systems can't be linked up though, or I wouldn't have Disney for free still, so there is a good chance you might get to keep it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,518 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

I thought maybe Uber would contact Disney and get them to cancel it

You'd think so but I'm in my third month. Anyway, best of luck.

Anyone still based in Turkey? Looks like my sub increasing to 3499 per year in April, about €92.50. Thats up over €50.

That’s some jump! It was 1,349 last year. Might need to reconsider it at renewal.

    When's your renewal?

Mine has another month on it. No email yet.

    Won't renew at that price.
