You are like a broken record with the disrespect towards Bucks and Jack.

Jack showed plenty in the hour he was on in pretty shocking conditions to suggest that if he is going to call time on his career with us that he will have plenty of interest if he wants to keep playing elsewhere.

I'm also still to be convinced that Duggan is a better LH than Denis currently either

Not seen a worse cameo off the bench from a rugby player as bad as Sean naughtans in a long time, bloody useless

Judging a young 10 in a pick and mix trial match is a small bit unfair in my opinion. Haven’t seen the match but judging by comment conditions were bad too. The couple of times I’ve seen Naughton there is 100% potential there.

So you're going to write off a young guy who will still be 20 at the start of next season and barely has any pro experience on the basis of a large squad friendly? Whatever you think your own mindset is, please take it elsewhere. You're not welcome here!

Jj Hanrahan signed to Munster for 2 seasons.

Jj, Jack and Josh all out of contract at end of year, would be surprised to see any stay on, maybe a year for Jack with one 10 being brought in on decent money and then groom Naughton over the next few years. His performance last night won't go on his highlights reel but any other time I've seen him he looks to have a lot about him so we should be looking to back him.

Best of luck to JJ, he bought into the place and did his best, can't ask for much more from a guy than that

I have a feeling that both JJ and Jack are very decent back up 10's with plenty left in the tank.

I also think that JJ was the best of our 10's at implementing the coaches game plan which is probably why I disliked when he was selected so much.

Best of luck and thanks for your efforts.

It really does look like major change of plans for next season. Perhaps we need to look at the organ grinder instead of the monkeys getting all the blame.

I agree with you but the way Jack has been non selected for most of this season even though he's done well any time he has played would lead me to think he might not be interested in another year with the same setup who don't seem to fancy him for whatever reason.

Unfortunately, it's been a major change of plan every season for quite a while. A quality starting out half getting to run the game in slowly evolving game structure for a settled group of coaches is a pipe dream of mine. 🤣

A few of my friends believe that his body is likely just done after years of rugby and injuries. He might seem young but he's got an incredibly high number of minutes on the clock and Connacht have consistently rushed him back from injury due to our lack of cover.

Not confirmed at all but I can definitely see how he looks good in one or two game runs but seems to have issues if overused.

Best of luck to JJ but I see some Connacht folk online letting on this is a big loss. Don't get me wrong, JJ was decent from the tee, but he might be the most limited outhalf in every other aspect of what you need to be a URC-standard outhalf.

A 2 year deal seems crazy to me.

I agree with this. While his goal kicking certainly was a welcome addition his line kicking was poor and he doesn't offer much of a threat at all in open play anymore

If that's accurate then it could be just what we need. Wilkins is a decent coach but he doesn't appear to be the person we need to build a high performing coaching team it or get the best out of your squad through man management.

Ireland A got only two tries. 1 (first half)=Bolton,2 (second half)=Gavin. Both two men was very good at defence. Aunger's scrum work D. Murray's LO both very good. Jansen maybe stayed on the pitch through the fulltime.

They seemed healthy at the end of the game.

As much as I hate to see constant chopping and changing, any change at the top is good imo, as the current coaching ticket has sent out some of the most unprepared teams I can remember ( To my eye). I'm all for leaving coaches in palce but you need to see SOMETHING to make you feel like there's progress being made.

I did enjoy having JJ on board to maek his kicks but I won't be losing too much sleep over it. Similar to Kilgallen and Tom Farrell Its not a gret sign of Munster that they seem to consitently pick up player who are in and out of our team

I wonder could we tempt Joey Carbury home?

Don't think he's worth the risk with his injury profile to be honest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 553 ✭✭✭ShineyShiney

It was Harry Byrnes injury profile that got me thinking 🤔

Treviso is very strong. They won against Ulster (34-19). In this game, no Italy representataive in the team. Treviso starters: 15~9 Smith, Mendy, Fekitoa(ex Munster), Zannon, Gallagher, Albonoz, Uren, 1~8 Gallo, Male, Zilocochi, Marini, Snyman, Izokor, Zuriani, Henofihi .

Some players are foreigners. At second half, Ulster received 3 yellow card, and it caused directly their defeat. Even so, Treviso was strong enough. In the Second half, Ulster received 3 yellow cards (including very unlucky one). Directly it's their cause of defeat. But even so, Treviso was strong enough for current Connacht. I think that especilly t6, 10, 15 are strong and skillful. Connacht needs huge defending efforts at open plays.

Benetton have just announced that Marco Bortolami is leaving his contract early at the end of the season. It'll be interesting to see what effect that has on their squad's motivation.

It's also the same Treviso team that shipped 40 points to zero away to ospreys. Connacht should be targeting 5 points here.
