The Bond link is fairly weak tbh. It's an okay watch, perfect background fodder while scrolling on your phone or if you're in need of something brainless. Very pretty scenery and some decent challenges for the competitors.

Barry Keoghan has about as much chance as Lizzo being cast as the next James Bond.

If Billie Eilish can do the theme song, Lizzo might stand a chance.

    It’s sh!te but not utter sh!te.

The post above yours sums it up well.

Sean - a face like a crumpled newspaper

    George - a bloated croc

Daniel - A nightclub bouncer that's taken too many punches!

I thought Bond was a stealth operator, a spy, an assassin. Since when is it a beauty pageant? Apart from the Bond girls obviously.

Bond might be many things but ain't no way you can claim the stories are aiming for accuracy about what the man is or does.

It's like saying Indiana Jones is an accurate portrayal of archaeology

She can torture Bond like one of her back up dancers (allegedly).

For those who don't have Amazon and ant to watch some Bond ITV have struck a deal with them.

ITV Strikes First-Of-Its-Kind James Bond Deal With MGM

ITV has struck what it says is a first-of-its-kind deal for James Bond movies with Amazon MGM Studios Distribution.

The deal will see 25 James Bond movies available to view on both linear and then for 30 days on streaming platform ITVX, and the pics will air multiple times a year.

ITV said the deal marks the first time the Bond movies have been available via an AVoD streaming platform in the UK.

Films that will be available from next month include Goldfinger, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and Skyfall, along with documentaries Everything Or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 and Being James Bond: The Daniel Craig Story.

“It doesn’t get any more iconic than James Bond and we are honoured to bring this fantastic catalogue of films to our viewers both on our linear channels and via catch-up on ITVX,” said Darren Nartey, Senior Acquisitions Manager for film and kids at ITV.

    Called it.

Also had him backed with the bookies @ 50/1 which will pay for a few dry Vodka Martinis.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

Wasn’t mad on Daniel Craig till I got into see his films and then all clicked - I’m getting old at this stage now so will leave it to the younger audiences to judge him.

Scratching my head though in terms of where this franchise will go - we’ll have to wait and see I guess.

Well given Bond has nearly always followed trends and not set them, the new Bond will either be a Superhero film (🤡), or perhaps take cues from John Wick and deploy long-takes of showy hand to hand combat set-pieces; that'd be my speculation.

Yeah decent choice and as said above with Bond following trends the last Bond followed Bourne action I would expect this one to be more John Wick stylised

I would guess if he signs on with Bond he won't be able to be another major franchice and that would put paid anymore Kraven the Hunter films for a while even if it was a hit at the box office as he would have to sign onto Bond for at the very least a 3 picture deal which will take a minimum of the next dozen years of his life.

I'm still not sure if he's really been offered it. This originated from the sun...

Not a bad choice as Bond, if Nolan is coming on board I hope Cillian does too as a villain, it would be interesting to see a Christopher Nolan Bond film, Florence Pugh as a Bond girl

No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change this World

Amazon announced today that they have struck a deal for the full creative control rights for James Bond from the Broccoli family.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,178 ✭✭✭Brief_Lives

Amazon MGM Studios to gain creative control of the James Bond franchise; Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson to step away.

James Bond 007 on Instagram: "Amazon MGM Studios, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today announced that they have formed a new joint venture to house the James Bond intellectual property rights, and those parties will remain co-owners of the franchise. Under the terms of the new venture, Amazon MGM Studios will gain creative control of the James Bond franchise following closing of the transaction.

“Since his theatrical introduction over 60 years ago, James Bond has been one of the most iconic characters in filmed entertainment,” said Mike Hopkins, Head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. “We are grateful to the late Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman for bringing James Bond to movie theatres around the world, and to Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for their unyielding dedication and their role in continuing the legacy of the franchise that is cherished by legions of fans worldwide. We are honoured to continue this treasured heritage, and look forward to ushering in the next phase of the legendary 007 for audiences around the world.”

“With my 007 career spanning nearly sixty incredible years, I am stepping back from producing the James Bond films to focus on art and charitable projects. Therefore, Barbara and I agree, it is time for our trusted partner, Amazon MGM Studios, to lead James Bond into the future,” said Wilson.

“My life has been dedicated to maintaining and building upon the extraordinary legacy that was handed to Michael and me by our father, producer Cubby Broccoli. I have had the honour of working closely with four of the tremendously talented actors who have played 007 and thousands of wonderful artists within the industry. With the conclusion of No Time To Die and Michael retiring from the films, I feel it is time to focus on my other projects.” commented Broccoli.

In 2022, Amazon acquired MGM, including a vast catalog with more than 4,000 films and 17,000 TV shows. Since the MGM acquisition, Amazon has held rights to distribute all of the James Bond films, and as a result of this transaction will have creative control over future productions."

We had a great thing with Bond for 60 years… but now with Amazon taking control, we'll probably have an American Bond, origin stories and/or spin offs for Q, M, Moneypenny.

Ironically enough we have a real Bond Villian as the owner of Bond now.

hard to know really how this will go.
personally haven’t particularly loved the last few movies, casino royale aside.
I’ve said this here before I’d like to see them do a run of them set in Cold War era.
Not sure on expanding the universe to other characters that could be a bit cartoony.
