Hopefully he can come back again. Hard to keep the head up when you keep having bad luck with injuries

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 140 ✭✭King Power Fox

What age is Power? Is he not a similar player to Connolly? Would there be room for 2 of them in the FF line. Anyway awful to see a player lose a year to injury as inter county careers can now be relatively short. B

Jesus, that's horrendous to get 2 injuries. Really feel for him as he was just making his mark

really unfortunate news for Power, best wishes in his recovery

What have we won says the Limerick troll? About eighteen more all Ireland's than Limerick last time i checked. Even Kilkenny folk when they were winning weren't as self entitled and insufferable as some of the Limerick crowd.

I'm really enjoying the building rivalry. It's fun watching the teenage Cork fans who have never seen an All Ireland thinking of themselves as plucky underdogs against the "villains" (which I keep hearing from Cork fans).

Would be a great league final and would surely have a bigger crowd and a bit more spice than the average final.

    I have to disagree there.

The majority of Limerick fans I meet (those who actually go to the matches) are pretty sound out.

I'd ignore the trolls online who have probably never seen a GAA match live.

Kilkenny fans are far more insuffereable (winning or losing). They are an absolutely joyless bunch! Zero craic!!!

I am also enjoying the rivalry. Seeing young and old Limerick fans get the shock of being beaten in Croke Park last year by Cork. It was rather nice to see.

It's nice for them to be at the top table of hurling for a change. Waiting for decades between titles was not new to them after all. There's no denying Cork are back challenging for Liam again. Great to see us challenging to add another title to compete at the top of the title Roll of Honour with Kilkenny, with Limerick a tad further down.

Youd have to wonder about people who are up all night on boards worrying about Limerick, how the mighty have fallen.I suppose thats what 20yrs of disapoointment and bitterness does.

You have to wonder about Limerick posters Obsessively posting in the Cork thread.

I was talking about the joking and messing with fans at the stadium. That's what I find fun.

I have no interest in getting involved in petty bullsht with Cork people on their own thread.

I guess the irony of this post is lost on you.

When i say Limerick trolls it's one Limerick troll in particular, who has a very bizarre obsession with peoples posting hours. Limerick and Clare probably have replaced Tipperary as our number one rivals in Munster now. The last Cork and Tipp Munster final was almost 20 years ago, and there's only been three of them since 1991.

You evidently haven't been reading the past couple of pages of this thread. Some Limerick people started to see beating us as being some sort of right and entitlement, so last summer was quite a shock to the system for them indeed.

Still though after almost 50 years worth of failure and treating the nation to the biggest bottle job ever in an all Ireland final in 1994, we can't begrudge them their success too much i suppose. Anyway awful news about Padraig Power. It's bad news for Cork and even worse news for him. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and comes back all the stronger from it.

I suppose you have good and bad everywhere. Now that my bitterness over the strikes has long subsided i actually find Kilkenny folk far more tolerable than both the Limerick and Tipp crowd for some reason! It's about time we have another Cork and Kilkenny all Ireland final i think.

great to see MTU and UCC in the fitzgibbon semis. Watched MTU earlier. Walsh, Cahalane and Connolly were excellent

I think ye would be far too strong now for Kilkenny. They are guaranteed a semi final because Leinster is weaker at the moment. They got Clare on off days in 22 and 23. Clare were always very close to Limerick in those years and played very well in semi final second half and final last year. I think they will be very good again this year.

I think it would be stupid for anyone to write off Kilkenny. We have found that out the hard way in Cork at times as well! I agree with you about Leinster though. Wexford and Dublin are a fair bit off the pace and Galway are rebuilding. There doesn't seem to be much coming through in Galway at the moment though. Hopefully Offaly will continue to show some improvement after that u20 all Ireland win.

    This is true!

You can have a negative interaction with a small minority which can colour your opinion of the majority.

    Probably unfairly.

As you say there are good and bad from every county.

Just finished watching the Ashbourne Cup Semi final in Camogie. UCC against TU Dublin.

Cork players Clodagh Finn for UCC and Saoirse McCarthy for TUD really stood out on the pitch.

UCC were up 10 points to 4 at half time with a big wind advantage and won 0-16 to 0-13 in the end.

They play UL (who won before it) tomorrow at 3 in the final and it will be on Youtube. The games are on Astroturf so it looks and felt a bit strange! UCC managed by Donal O'Grady and they said UCC havent won this comp since 2003. Amazed at that but yet another Cork famine!!

Conor Cahalane has now joined the Cork footballers. Basically swapped with his brother Jack who joined the hurlers!

    Pitch is a joke there

Half way line is the 65 so the ball just pings between both ends constantly and obviously then both 21s/45s are completely packed out

It’s only suitable for maybe Gaelic Football and underage Camogie

Have been to a lot of adult matches there (pre season Intercounty hurling) and keepers if going absolute full pelt we’re reaching the far 21 at ease - had to hold back completely

UCC 2 down with 10 min to go in the Fitzgibbon semi final, on youtube. MTU in the 2nd semifinal also on youtube at 8

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,741 ✭✭✭The White Feather

PItch is terrible but DCU were just that bit better. Some very poor wides from UCC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,345 ✭✭✭zetecescort

UL lead MTU by 2 at HT. Alan Connolly and Mikey Finn both deservadly sent off for dangerous tackles for MTU

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,345 ✭✭✭zetecescort

UL goal after 40 min puts them 8 up. Game heading for its inevitable ending

Close game today but we get the win v Westmeath in a very big scoring game, 3-18 v 3-17

Chris Óg Jones again showing how good he is 3-04 from playing I think.

Seemed a crazy game. 2 pointers and goals aplenty!

Great to come out the right side of a close encounter. I think Chris Og has about 5-8 in 3 games now
