Usual tripe from you. Best seats and more standing allocation held back/or priced down from VIP went up yesterday for Pantera.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,223 ✭✭✭FullBack Jam

Doesn't work like that for GAA games. I go to many games, and for games that are no where near sold out the crappier tickets are shown very early in the week. And then closer the game, tickets around the centre of the pitch become available.

Those are production holds, they always get released a week or two out from any big show.
as for what we’re VIP being amended down to normal prices. That also occurs when they vip allocation doesn’t sell at crazy prices.

GAA/county boards always hold back allocations of the best seats for matches. There is very legitimate reasons for this, need tickets for players families, sponsors, politicians and or for county clubs to sell on behalf of the GAA hq.
they will always hold back far too many and then the remaining ones go back up on ticketmaster the Thursday or Friday before the game.
It’s not a ploy to sell the crap seats it’s cause GAA prioritise having the best seats for certain people.
If a ministers County is a province final etc this is how the TD gets the good seats.

Your post was cloudy you appear very stringent on what something is.

You said worst seats are always last to sell...This is simply false. You use words like "genuine" like they have no depth.

You are given proof good spaces aren't on sale as you claim saying ooh there production holds or scabby tickets now back in play as if it doesn't negate your initial claim when it duly does.

the original posts and your own one was saying that ticketmaster releases the worst tickets to get rid of them and then releases the good tickets. That’s flat out wrong.
the best available function is precisely that, it’s ticketmaster offering you the best available seat left in its inventory for a event. Sometimes these are overpriced vip tickets which may be good seats but at rip off prices.
a number of the best seats in venues are held back from initial sale due to contractual obligations. A small number of these may end up going on sale a week or two out cause the artist doesn’t need all the guest-list tickets they initially asked for or their stage set up is smaller than initially thought so more people can fit in standing etc.

it’s not a ploy to mess and ticketmaster is always offering the best available in its inventory at that time. The fact that a handful of better seats will eventually get released down the line doesn’t mean it’s a ploy to mess over fans and sell them crap seats.

You rejigged your story that's what you do!

You said best available is genuinely that now it's best available in the inventory along with a new story to dust up.

They want to get rid of the worst tickets first that poster is correct and logical for scuts Livenation.

Presale for in the 3 when it comes to seated they will mostly flog the worst tickets in blocks A and G. The real reason the worst tickets are not going go first there is they only open those blocks for sale if the lower tier does well.

    The ploy is in profiteering.

not surprising really, poor chap is knackered, should be some really good collaborations with other artists though, an incredible experience for them

Amusing that they announced this after the tickets were sold.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,664 ✭✭✭Fanirish

it was announced before it went on sale that he would only be doing a short ozzy set. Could have been clearer than only going to be a short black sabbath show as well. But given health issues of him and Billy ward was anyone really expecting a long black sabbath set? If it’s 20 mins of ozzy classics and 45 - 1hour of black sabbath themselves I’d say that will be it. Maybe sabbath Set will be prolonged by guest vocalists/musicians going them for songs to give ozzy/bill a breather

id say they ll be a long list of collaborations for both ozzy and sabbath sets, all other artists announced were heavily influenced by both, should be a great show

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,664 ✭✭✭Fanirish

yeah would say that’s how it will go, with ozzy only singing for 1 hour max with the guests joining for songs

£7 in January 1991 would be €18.36 today. What a time it was!

Feeling pretty depressed myself. Had a chance to purchase tickets. Regretting it now.

What is the story with resales?? I know there are restrictions. Does it mean any resales will only appear on Ticketmaster??

You are right Fanirish, absolutely kicking myself.

IMO this will be up there with the likes of Live Aid or the Freddie Mercury tribute show and it will be remembered as a once in a lifetime experience for those lucky enough to attend in person. I fully expect to see additional big hitters added to the line up too. The reality is that Ozzy is physically goosed so anyone expecting more than 4 or 5 songs from him on the day will probably be disappointed. Id imagine the most likely running order is that the support acts will play 3 or 4 of their own songs plus 1 Ozzy or Sabbath cover. Whatever isnt covered during the day will likely be the songs Ozzy and Sabbath perform.

Hopefully the whole thing will be live streamed in full.

Yeah I've been thinking and there is no doubt this is going to be something truly special.

Metal fans have to be up there with some of the greatest fans in the world, be that sporting or musical. They have a fanaticism and community like no other. Black Sabbath and Ozzy are the complete genesis of the genre and as much as this will be "Ozzy's show" I feel this will be an out and out love letter to the wild ride of that has been Heavy rock.

I wouldn't be one of the hardcore rockers. I've seen Ozzy and BS but I've a really broad spectrum of music I enjoy. Those old schooler you see at the rock and metal gigs with the leather vests, the long black hair and the 80s Monsters of Rock tour T-shirts?….I would die for those fockers.

This will be an almost (un)holy pilgrimage for their kind.

If its any consolation at different times I had both the hotel package option on TM and the 'silver' corporate packages via Aston Villa in my respective carts but didn't purchase as my mates at the time would not commit to going (they are now all in of course 🙃).

I still have my hotel booked for the weekend ... probably foolish to think I may get a ticket but you never know I suppose.

It would be great if they went full on Live Aid and it was broadcast. Id happily drop cash for a pay per view type event.

Ironically a week out from the 40th Anniversary of Live Aid

It's going to be a sore few months for us who didn't get a ticket. Not saying it would not of sold out but if only it was in Wembley Stadium instead

I wonder is the son in law touring with Slipknot and Post Malone is busy ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,423 ✭✭✭nullObjects

    Ah no way.

Slash and Duff were playing individually so I guess that makes sense.

People were wondering why Tool passed, some lineup even if each band is doing a short set

I'm just going to put this out there.

If anyone has buyers remorse/travel plans change etc and want/need to sell their tickets I'll buy them no probs at all.

Am going to book my flights today anyway and just hope for the best.
