Recent poll - 70% of Americans do not approve of Musk in government

Almost like more and more people are realising what a douchenozzle he is

And again #Musk, who is campaigning for AfD. He joins in live via feed and parrots na"I talking points. "It's okay to be proud to be German. Children should not be to blame for the crimes of their parents." And: "fight fight fight."
Weidel follows up with: "We are making our homeland great again"

In case someone wondering about the Roman salute

Might not grow their support as much as they hope. This interference isn't polling well, even in Britain and in the US

What's the point of this post ? I've read it 3 times and haven't a clue what you are trying to portray

It was multiply edited post by me, It was to inform people about 'Garron Noone' been on the LLS and a clip, showing his take on the 'Musk Salute'. It seems that allot of the audience didn't know who he was as well. See the relevant LLS thread!

Had a conversation with a young male co worker during the week who was defending musk saying he has “ Assbergers” and he was showing me pictures of other public figures with their arms outstretched in snap shot photos. I really think that generation are lost. He had a stupid smirk on his face when I was telling him how bad Nazism is. Like I was the crazy one. When I was his age in the early 2000’s I used to watch the history channel and discovery channel and every single night there was documentaries about Nazi depravity. This was pre YouTube, Facebook , Tik tok. That generation are 100% not watching documentaries like that. That can’t be conveyed in 10 second tik tok clips.
It is unfortunate that de nazification was confined to west Germany. Nazism clearly goes well beyond the borders of the old west Germany . There was no de nazification in East Germany or Austria which remained hotbeds of nazism long after the war. Also France was a country that had plenty of enthusiastic collaborators. Not to mention countries like Spain and Portugal that were fascist until the 70’s. And Ireland had a cosy relationship with Nazis post war and welcomed some high profile Nazis such as Otto skorzeny with open arms with locals in Kildare describing skorzeny as a gentleman. Maybe he was. But this man was one of Hitlers right hand men and a particular favourite and knew full well and did not give two f**ks about the final solution.
Also it needs to be emphasized and conveyed to the younger generation that the end of the war just coincided with the partial destruction of the Jews . If it had continued the poles and the Slavs were next in line and there is no doubt that the death camps would have been used and expanded right into the 50’s 60’s and 70’s for anyone who did not toe the Nazi line. It is unbelievable that this is an issue in the 2020’s with survivors from that time still alive. But it is . Nazism never went away and now they are feeling bold and confident again.

I really think that generation are lost

    Some, perhaps, but not all.

Had a conversation with a young male co worker during the week who was defending musk saying he has “ Assbergers”

Musk's sieg heil wasn't some sort of autistic outburst and it wasn't just a moment of stage fright induced action. He knew exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. At best it was a dumb effort to piss people off. At worst it was a signal to the absolute dregs that MAGA have to offer, and let's not forget that there are LITERAL Neo-Nazis that are supporting Trump.

He had a stupid smirk on his face when I was telling him how bad Nazism is. Like I was the crazy one.

It's not worth the time to waste on people like that, nor the same type that wander in here either. That type really is lost.

Speaking of history…Ireland did not have a "cozy relationship" with Nazis at all…neither before the war, during it, or after. The man in question, Otto Skorzeny, was allowed to visit Ireland, because there was no legal way to stop him after he was declared "denazified" in the 1950's. This meant that he could legally travel around Europe and he did. However, Ireland did refuse him permanent residency which is what he was after, and he could only stay for short periods with his movements being very closely tracked. Our G2 also reported his activities to MI6 and the CIA while he was here.

He was able to buy a house in rural Kildare and in a number of other countries as well. Again, because there was no real legal manoeuvres in place to prevent him from doing so and back in those days you could buy a house with cash. But why, exactly, Skorzeny chose to spend weeks at a time in Ireland remains a bit of a mystery. But one theory is that he never stopped working for various intelligence agencies, one of which, by the way, was Israel's Mossad. But while in Ireland, he mostly kept himself to himself, so perhaps he was here to lay low for certain periods while he was between jobs as it were. But he spent more time in Spain where the Franco government were more welcoming.

Skorzeny may have been a favourite of Hitler (although "right hand man" may be pushing it as Hitler only personally met Skorzeny in 1943) but he was also admired by his enemies too. Churchill, in particular, was said to have been very complimentary, Eisenhower called him the most dangerous man in Europe and the head of the OSS, William Donovan, said he'd sell his grandmother to have a man like Skorzeny at his disposal. He had a reputation of getting the job done and often that job was a very difficult one indeed. His rescue of Mussolini at Gran Sasso was viewed as a master stroke by everyone involved in the business, friend and foe alike. So, it's no surprise that after the war there were numerous agencies that were willing to seek his services.

Nazism never went away and now they are feeling bold and confident again.

No, that particular extreme political view never went away and it can now seen supporting the likes of Donald Trump. Something which should have people very disturbed indeed. You can see swastikas being openly displayed in some parts of the States and even in Germany there are people with those sentiments coming out of the woodwork and the likes of the AfD are getting bankrolled by irresponsible dickheads like Elon Musk.

Some people want to close their eyes to this issue and pretend that it isn't happening or that it isn't important. But that type of person is a fool. But much worse are the people who'll line up and try to excuse it. The scramble last week by certain types to try and explain away Musk's sieg heil is a perfect example that.

I was overstating it by saying Ireland had a cosy relationship with Nazis . The late Cathal o Shannon done a pretty eye opening documentary on RTE years ago about this issue which highlighted a few awkward realities. Its issues like this that highlight our lack of geopolitical clout more than anything. We have plenty of soft power and influence in times of peace but things get incredibly awkward for Ireland when great powers start throwing their weight around like they are at the moment.
As regards speaking out against Nazism we are in a similar period to the early 1930’s where pushing back against Nazism is seen as over reacting and alarmist. Even the leader of Israel thinks there is nothing to see here. But as a casual student of history of average intelligence I can see that thin edge of the wedge sliding into place right now.

He's 'the leader of israel' in a sense he's a power hungry money driven war monger. On this subject he has no authority to be honest. Musk et el are useful tools to him personally.

Yes, I remember that programme. It was shown in the mid 2000's, but I felt it was very dubious history TBH if I recall correctly. Seemed to be going for a bit of a sensationalist angle. A lot of accusations were made in the documentary about Albert Folens that were very sketchy, to say the least. Don't think his widow was very happy about it.

As for things getting tough for Ireland, that's very true. We get caught in the middle and have to play a very careful game when things kick off in Europe. On the whole, I believe that we played our hand quite well during the war, although we were never in any real serious danger of being invaded. However, bombing by both the Luftwaffe and the RAF would have been a serious concern.

There were those speaking out against Nazism before the war, alright, and that was the moment to stop its rise. The problem was that German conservatives believed that they could control Hitler and his crowd and were willing to ignore their more extremist notions. This has been paralleled in what has happened in America with the GOP and MAGA. Sometimes power at any cost just isn't worth it, as Germany found out to its great cost.

An article summarises the dire state of TwitterX under Musk:

Banks that loaned multi-hyphenate billionaire Elon Musk an appreciable $13 billion for his ill-advised $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in late 2022 are getting ready to offload billions of debt they accrued as a result, the Wall Street Journal reports...

In short, the financials are still looking pretty dire — as Musk himself admitted in a January email to staff reviewed by the WSJ. "Our user growth is stagnant, revenue is unimpressive, and we’re barely breaking even," he admitted.

Probably falls under the "if you owe a bank a million, you have a problem, if you owe them 100 million they have a problem" scenario.

It was a clear Nazi salute. Whether Musk was doing it because he has Nazi sympathies or just because he's a troll who wants to 'trigger the libs' with a controversial hand gesture is irrelevant because him doing that salute pushes it further into mainstream popular culture as it undergoes the same process of gaslighting, downplaying and rationalising that every single other incremental move into far-right populism does.

Every outrage at an incident like this is going to be called 'leftist hysteria' by the same talking heads online who have controversial opinions daily for ad revenue.

Unfortunately, it seems like humanity is sort of doomed to forget the terrible lessons of history, and I'm worried we'll live long enough to see another holocaust enacted in the West.

So to get this straight, a billionaire who holds no office in the US has a secret team of unpaid workers (read: Musk fanatics) who are using their own encrypted comms and are accessing American taxpayer files on restricted systems and in restricted areas to draw up plans to cull government workers.

Even Succession, the TV show, couldn't come up with **** this dystopian.

There's ample sources for the story including CNN and politico amongst them. You can find details literally anywhere. The man has a squad of about 6 19 to 24 year old goon squad breaking into system on site.

Its a fascist coup, none of it remotely legal. And they gut the FBIs top directors on Thursday to allow for it to go unneeded.

    Ontario is fighting back:

Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford is "ripping up" Ontario's nearly $100 million contract with Elon Musk's Starlink in the wake of U.S. tariffs on virtually all Canadian goods, he said in a statement Monday.

The contract, signed in November, was meant to provide high-speed internet access through Starlink's satellite service to 15,000 eligible homes and businesses in rural, remote and northern communities by June of this year.

"Ontario won't do business with people hellbent on destroying our economy," Ford said in the statement.

Ford said Ontario will ban American companies from provincial contracts until U.S. tariffs are removed.

I've no idea what a Progressive Conservative is supposed to be but it is nice to see a Conservative act in the national interest. Hopefully, more Canadian states follow suit.

Meanwhile in his other business, Elon says there is revenue potential of $10 trillion (serious Dr Evil notions) for his robot. Deluded stuff. I wonder how long his simps will be led along by the nose for.

Yeah, I was out of date. When I first saw it on Imgur and Reddit the stories contradicted each other and there was no source. I didn't see it on BBC and got lazy. It still seems underrepresented considering how big a story it is. Am I missing something?

Good synopsis read of what's going on here. It's all very serious stuff and highly highly consequential.

This is an absolute and current constitutional crisis in the US.
