I applied for mine yesterday afternoon. Got an email to say the SOL was available at 9:02 this morning.

(May have been available on the site earlier, but the email should give you some indication hopefully)

Submitted tax return last night, I know I owe them for (dividends+EU dirt) minus health expenses.

Presumed my SOL would be available today but its not so it's more than likely gone for manual processing.
Also, the health expenses amount was wrong, I claimed in July for any receipts up to end of June, the return would only let me use the july sub total which doesn't include July to December obviously.

Something to look out for if you have done similar.

Payment received overnight, 3 day turnaround from start to finish. Savage stuff!

In same boat (eu dirt minus health) but submitted on 2nd and as of Friday I'm still in the queue. My second year on eu dirt but expecting this year for them to convert me over to a chargable person due to amounts involved (they said on phone Friday yeah I can see that expect a call when it's getting processed to discuss if once off or will be ongoing).

What do you mean by convert you to a chargeable person due to amounts involved?

My 2nd year also, but not over the 5 k, will wait and see what they come back with.

It's only if it's over 5K in profit right? Otherwise it's 30,000 total income. So if you have 5000 euro of DIRT interest a year you are still fine since 33% of that is 1650 so you would be under the 5000 euro threshold.

"Taxable net income (after losses, capital allowances and other reliefs) of €5,000 or more in a year."

Way I read it is the taxable income I.e. before dirt deducted. Will know soon enough I guess.

Applied for mine on the 1st of January still nothing yet. No message from them to say it's been flagged to process manually or any other information..I wonder is there any one else in the same boat as me. I only claimed my rent tax credit and my health insurance benefit. Thanks in advance for any help

A person told me today on the phone to revenue that they have 2 weeks from submission to reply to you. Ring them and ask is best

Hi thanks for getting back to me. Can I ask what number you rang that deals with this section?

Thanks I'll get onto them this morning to find out. I appreciate the help

Eventually spoke to some one my claim was sent for a manual review. Which is strange as I only claimed for medical insurance and rent relief. Paid around 35000 tax this year from my salary. I guess it's different when they owe you money I was just told I would have to wait. Thanks for the number anyway I appreciate the help

there’s an element of random selection too for reviews. How much you paid or how much you’re trying to claim back isn’t really a factor

    PAYE is 01 7383636

The number ending in 63 is the Collector Generals office (handle payments)

    Lines open 9.30am - 1.30pm Mon - Friday.

It's pure random, cases pulled that claimed €100 medical expenses and €10,000 medical expenses. No exact figure that claims are pulled for review. Anyone could be pulled, even for claiming the smallest amount.

Not really too arsed about being reviewed, will give me a chance to get rid of those old receipts plus I'm hoping, similar to jury selection, that if I'm checked out now I'll be left alone for another few years.

anyone still waiting on their statement ? It’s been about 31/2 weeks since requested it 😭😭

Over two weeks since making my return and no statement yet. Was hoping to get a refund on the work from home to help with paying the CGT bill (yesterday).

Hi I made my tax return on the 1st still waiting. I rang them and they said it was sent for manual review. The only thing that I had on it was my rent tax relief and my health insurance. I rang last week and I was told I would just have to sit and wait. I can't see any other way to speed it up? Any suggestions I'll gladly take

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 spurs1988

Same did mine on the 1st. Hopefully this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,568 ✭✭✭optiplexgx270

They get to it when they get to it unfortunately. I did mine on 2nd went to manual processing received on 21st and had to be redone twice by them in order to get the liability correct this week. I wasn't in a rush knowing I owe them money though 😂

no suggestions at all it’s never happened me before typical the one time I’m owed quite a bit 😢

I applied for my SOL 3 weeks ago , still nothing back . Sent an enquiry online 10 days ago and that just says it's gone to the personal division.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 spurs1988

Same as myself I applied on the 1st and sent an enquiry on the 16th and got no reply. I rang the week before last and she said it was fine for a manual review. That there was no estimated time this would be dealt with. Is there anyone else in the same boat as us I wonder? Thanks in advance

3 weeks to the day yesterday I applied for my SOL rang yday morning and asked when was it passed for manual checking he said the day after you submitted. I then asked to make a formal complaint as it was outside ten working days (uncle ex revenue officer told me to do it) and wow it was their this morning. Before ye kill me I needed the SOL for the bank as I left jobs etc changed to new career all that stuff so they wanted to see the proper ins and outs and wanted it yday u know the way banks want stuff. So was under pressure looking for it.
