Always great to see someone overcome health issues like that, it was going pretty good but when voter id and immigration came up Fetterman started squirming a lot

It will be interesting to see what kind of role he will have in the Trump/Musk White House.

Rogan is basically like a weather vane. His views will evolve in line with what maximises the growth of his audience.

And the increased mushiness of his brain due to drug use.

The protect our parks pods are very fun but I feel Joe really doesn't like Mark Normand.

He continually jokes to a point where he annoys the other three.

I avoid the comedians podcasts as much as possible unless its someone famous like Adma Sandler. I just find alot of Joe's comedian friends not very funny.

The thing I hate about comedians being on is the OTT talk about the "art" of comedy. You'd swear they were all the second coming of christ. They generally just end up crawling up each others ar*es. The "crushing", the "killing". It is utterly painful to listen to.

It’s so sad to see how centrists like Joe were abandoned by the Democrats.

I don't think Joe gets enough credit for his hosting ability. Always thought Theo Von was a good guest and easy to listen to Joe and him. After listening to a couple of Theo's podcasts I found them to be shockingly bad and dull.

I can’t wait to see how he reacts to elites shilling meme coins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 240 ✭✭Seattle

Has he had anyone on that's had the nerve to call him out for endorsing an election deniying insurrectionist?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,354 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

At this stage most people he has on the show are well embedded on "Team Trump" and 100% "Team Rogan". Like the majority of Americans they are too busy doing a victory lap to worry about any of that.

If Kamala had the balls, credibility or political smarts she could have went on the show and easily highlighted Joe's stupidity in endorsing Trump.

Yeah, it’s a tough spot for Democrats. Appearing on his podcast lends it credibility, but avoiding it allows misinformation and a fantasy narrative to flourish. It’s a double-edged sword. Mehdi Hassan recently pointed out that the left/center lacks an equivalent platform, and that’s really the only way to compete effectively. He probably has a point.

You have to go and meet people where they are and start from there. Massive mistake to turn down Rogan from Kamala.

If you think he would have given her the same leeway as he did when he gargled for Trump, I have a meme coin to sell you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 240 ✭✭Seattle

That assumes it would have gone well for her. Rogan controls the questions and frames the discussions, though, to his credit, he does often try to meet people halfway. Honestly, I doubt it would have made much of a difference either way.

If she isn't competent enough to deal with him what chance did she ever really have of winning an election?

Or maybe she thought having a ruddy faced stoner who is balls deep in tin foil shout at you wouldn't go well.

Maybe she did, you seem kinda invested in this so I'm inclined to just go with whatever you want my man

She was a district attorney and a congresswoman, she would be well able to dismantle any of Joe’s arguments. Bernie Sanders went on the show and converted Joe.

Huge mistake on her part not going on the show. She should have done multiple man - o - sphere podcasts.

Funny phrasing :) . But actually I think he has been relatively honest about that. He has been asked by a few guests what he would have done if she had come on to his podcast. As opposed to the idea she had to fly him out to a hotel to do the podcast there under strict editorial control.

Mostly he has claimed he would have treated her like any other guest - where his usual ideal is to get to the bottom of what she thinks and why. But on a few occasions he has been honest enough - that if a few "trigger" subjects had come up - he would have given her a pretty hard time. He admitted as much in his latest podcast with Lex. I forget now which trigger it was. But he said - paraphrase - "If that came up I wouldn't be normal, because that **** doesnt make any sense".

Unfortunately all of us, you me and everyone else, can only imagine how it would have gone and we will bring our own biases to that fantasy. But I err towards thinking he has been fairly honest. He would have treated her relatively fairly. But as you say - on certain topics - he would have given her a harder time than he did Trump. It wouldn't have been an equal airing I think too. But I do not think it would have been massively skewed either. I think he would have been mostly fair.

But this is all opinion with no possible counter factual. None of us will ever know alas. Which is a shame because - like Rogan or hate him - when he gets someone on for 2 or 3 or even 4 hours - you do tend to see a side of them you didn't see anywhere else. I think everyone for or against KH missed out by her not giving it a go.

I honestly think Joe had no interested in a gotcha interview. In fact I think he would have rowed back and given her a bit of a wide berth much like he did with Trump.

All Kamala and her party had to lay out is they weren't there for a total deep dive into any particular policies and we are here solely to shoot the sh*t and try get an insight into who Kamala Harris is.

I'm sure he would have touched on some big hits like the DEI stuff and possibly hit on some of the topics around why he probably moved from California (something close to JRs heart).

Stuff that if you've done your homework and credibly believe in you could easily hit back at him on. Joe isn't as militant as is made out.

I'm sure people judge her more for NOT going on the pod much greater than if she went on and had a below par interview/experience.

What/who was she possibly going to lose by going on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,500 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

I think they believed Rogan would try a gotcha interview but they also didn't trust her to do a 2 hour interview and thats why they kept from doing interviews for so long then when they let do them it was a max of 45 minutes with pre planned questions but she still manages to make a mess of some of it. It's a pity she didn't do it as we would have seen a normal side to her talking about things outside of politics just like JD Vance

Anyway I was catching up on a few episodes lately but I gave up most of them. Mel Gibson is completely out of his mind and what's the story with Lex Fridman, he's incredibly hard to listen too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,766 ✭✭✭kowloonkev

And that's why she didn't win because she doesn't have a spine. She is not willing to talk or meet those with opposing viewpoints to her, unless it is completely on her terms. Spineless.

If Rogan is where certain sections of the American community get all their news no wonder they have large gaps in their knowledge. And after that what do they have two partisan, channels CNN and Fox. Both omitting pieces or framing to suit agenda.

    -

As for Rogan amazed he got so big must be optics, hard work and image.

Not the best presenter, not the best MMA fighter, and a terrible comedian. A man with really odd world views. Not very well educated. Not progressed beyond High School. A drop out. Yet here he is a multimillionaire influencer not just in America but worldwide. Madness.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
