Esb are going to have some job sorting this out when it's all over, vicious wind, going to be serious damage done to the network.

Crazy wind and gusts here in Naas last 10 minutes. Can only imagine how bad it is on west coast.

The numbers are rapidly increasing. When I hit "Post Comment" they'll be already outdated.

Some strong gusts beginning to hit at my location in Bray.

Was watching via security cameras on the folks house on roscommon/mayo border. Power looks to be gone last 15 mins.. rhe rumbling of the wind before that was so loud...

Just saw a flash go off as well. Probably a substation and not lightning. Limerick City

East Meath kind of area here and fooking hell this is rough right now and we're still not at the worst of it apparently. The wind is hitting the front of the house straight on at our bedroom and I can hear the glass in the frame making creaking and cracking noises as the force of it is pushing on the window. They're about 15yo double glazed, but im convinced it's going to come in on top of us before the night's done.

    Hopefully we won't,

But not too optimistic . Awake here in North Dublin City 3 hours ahead of our expected Red , with some very noisy and strong gusts .

Am dreading whatever is to come .

Are the projected red warning times still accurate or by any chance is storm going through quicker, Athlone the noise of the wind is crazy and our projected time for red warning is o6:00

Seeing sustained 60km/h winds, and increasingly howling gusts now North of Blanchardstown (DUB). It seems to be picking up. Pressure has leveled off at 958hPa, but was dropping like a stone until now.

Grid voltage is swinging up and down a lot more than usual. Must be all the outages out West hitting hard. Feel for the ESB crews who will have to deal with all of that.

Same in Meath, it's hard to imagine this going up another level in the next few hours and not ripping the roof off.

Is there anything to be said for another mass?

Any insights to how it's hitting the Renvyle Peninsula? Anxiously watching from abroad for family. No contact from them, hopefully because they are sleeping but would still like to know how it's hitting there.

It seems to have peaked and appears to be easing off with the gusts getting more sporadic and shorter in duration. We get many storms and this one is up there. Power never went off. Tiredness is setting in now. zzzz

    Glenbeigh Kerry.

Closely monitoring it here in West Limerick and to my untrained eye it appears to be very gradually subsiding..But the dangerous gusts continue well into the morning…

We are under a red warning from 2am to 10am if I remember correctly. . .

80 kts 148 km/h in Mace Head. Sustained speed of 63 kts, which is insane.

    7 stations total exceeding 120 km/h gusts

    Not Your Ornery Onager

    Question

On those power outage maps, what are the figures in blue, and what do the red flags mean?
