Windier than I expected this early here, but I've south facing windows so that could make it sound worse.

Dublin Bus still operating, which seems a bit crazy.

    Here = NW Dublin

After picking up in Glenbeigh Kerry in the last 20 mins. Hoping it will peak soon and start easing off. Still have power. I have the TV on to keep the storm sounds in the background.

The relative worst of it seems to have moved on from south Kerry, but still bad with some serious gusts.

    🙈🙉🙊

Power gone about 20 mins. Wind woke me up. Really bad and I'm in sheltered estate. Limerick/tipp border.

I can't fathom a cat5 hurricane with sustained speed like these gusts, hard to imagine

    🌦️ 6.7kwp, 45°, SSW, mid-Galway 🌦️

Same here, I'm in Delvin area, exposed too. Some very strong wind and it's not red criteria till 6am according to met eireann. Genuinely worried about what damage will happen!

@pad199207 Did you come to Galway for the storm? You are normally kildare direction?

South Offaly and the wind outside is crazy. And we’re not in red for another 3.5hours.

Thankfully my 7 day old baby is sleeping through it.

As I type another outrageous gust feels like it’s going to lift my sunroom off the ground.

I am now genuinely concerned about what post 6am will bring.

Cork harbour area .…on top of a hill so it's always windy here but this is the worst I can remember

Had to bring the dog out for a wee 20 mins ago, he's just home from an operation and confined to dog crate. Poor fella was terrified but nothing like the terror I had. Wild and viscous gusts out of nowhere. I had to stand in under the house eves with a bike helmet on in case of flying debris. Back in now but it sounds like a jet engine constantly outside now

The peak for me was supposed to be 5 am, but given how vicious it is already, I hope it has come earlier than expected.

That's good to hear! So there is life after this storm!!!

Now we're talking... Home in Galway city starting to shake a bit, but roof holding. Never seen the patio doors flex so much though!

It seems the same in Cork Harbour, the gusts are as strong as they were an hour ago but it feels like there's longer intervals between them.

Power gone 15 minutes ago.. Violent gusts and wind. Never heard the roof of the house make these noises in 35 years.

I think we will wake up to a lot of damage.

I agree 100%. I didn't want to but people hand stuff left out.

Big car park school across the road so I parked in there. On the walk over I seen a good few bits neighbours left out which would of caused more damage.

Boss came up to me before I left and asked would I come in early tomorrow and setup the machines for the 12.45pm shift.

Work in a factory on Galway on evening shifts and I stopped him straight away and said, youll be lucky if I'll be in at all.

I was job hunting only recently for work so I can move to a day shift in the same field. By god, I'm out of my place now big time.

They couldnt give two ****. The lad that asked me works days so he's off anyway because of red warning.

    I start 12.45pm on a Friday.

Bosses and some workplaces are absolute ****!! (Apologies, frustrated)

Won't be going on at all tomorrow as a 🖕

Dont think just pasting link works IF the link is www dot X dot com ,, You have to edit the URL and replace the X with TWITTER, then it works. I reckon this is an issue with the forum software OR something to do with X itself

I'll report heavy squalls here south of Dublin Airport, just to annoy the whingers that had to reply to my earlier posts and think I was born yesterday.

Seriously scary sounding wind. Bit of shed roof is currently flying around outside and power has just gone.

    East Clare

Power back on but only a matter of time I suspect.
