Just got hit with the strongest gust of the night so far. Entire building was quaking and rattling. Not sure how much longer some of those streetlights on Main Street are going to hold on.

Interestingly, air pressure bottomed out at 968 mb and is now climbing again.

Life is far too serious to be taken seriously!

    Indeed.

The biggest problem is, nobody will be even coming near them to begin repairs for another 15 hours.

East Cork, really picked up last half hour with a constant roar with big gusts rattling the house. Not liking this at all.

I get that! My Dad died suddenly in 2020 (not Covid) at the age of 90 and we lost Mum the week before Christmas (2024) at the age of 95 - longevity is not to be sneezed at

I know these are the official reports - the values have leveled out.. but it sounds outside (at 01:48h) its' gone mental!

Our UPS here is kicking in the odd time too - but we still have power near Riverstick Co Cork.

That's my plan too. Try and sleep through it and hope the power and internet are still working fine in the morning.

it’s the same sh1t eeeeeevery f00kin time, can people just simply add their location at the start of their post. Have it copied and then just paste even. Really annoying when you see “really bad here”

    Where the f00k is here!
    rant over.

In Dublin CC, I live on the fifth floor wind is fairly loud already. Spicy. I think I'm going to set an alarm though.

The wind here in west cork is scary. It's so constant. Gusts are weird. You can almost here them coming from miles away

save the trouble and jazz it up

First house alarms going off here in my little valley in D14, wind is absolutely howling (although that’s due to my location) … power is still absolutely fine but I’m not surprised there

Quite weird in North Tipp, hit unexpectedly hard early around 9-11pm but has been in a lull since. Seems to be building again now.

Don't think I've ever seen a starry night with such strong winds in my life. Very eerie stuff altogether

Éowyn sure isn't stopping the blackbirds 💔

Periods of very strong gusts that get closer.

Woah, sustained high wind, howling like nothing I've ever experienced, in the sw now. Glad I'm in bed, still with power for now.

    🙈🙉🙊

Very big gusts here in Meath and this is only the start, the real storm has still to make landfall on Irish soil, so things are going to way worse than they are right now.
