    Why?

15th in the table… Stubbornly refusing to change tactics his tactic even with so many out….
The bad run started before all the injuries , will be interested to see how many of those injured are back when the new gaffer gets appointed.

Ange is way out of his depth mate …… Its just the way we are.

The rot started before the injuries did….

The injuries have given him a bit of time, but thats running out.

As a Spurs fan, i still don't want him sacked, but i understand why he will likely get the boot eventually.

7 starters were out yesterday. Vicario, Romero, VdV, Udogie, Bentancur, Johnson, and Solanke. 3 of those are critical to how we play (Romero, VdV and Solanke). Then a few people who would have been first off the bench, Bissouma, Werner (😑) and Oderbert. Davies and Richarlison just back, so lacking match fitness. Anyone saying there's not an injury crisis is taking the piss.

He also has changed tactics over the last year. We've dropped deeper this year (we rank 8th in our high line stats apparently), and yesterday we played a 3-4-3. It's still a really high press system, which does leave us open, but its unfair to say there's no change. It didn't work, but it was changed.

At the end of the day though, we haven't won a PL game since November. 5 points from a possible 30. That is relegation form, and it can't continue.

That doesn't count, Southampton aren't really a PL team 🤣

I think Ange is a good coach and it's obvious why the fans like him.

They won't let him go before their League Cup fate is sealed, Levy won't be making that mistake again, so he's still got a little time to turn things around. I don't think there's any chance of their league season being saved but if he can show improvement over what they're currently producing maybe they'll keep him for next season.

Ange is not a good coach. He got an ole like bounce start to life in his first ten games and has been found out ever since. The team is poorly coached, susceptible to injuries and I can count on one hand how many players have improved under him. Most have regressed.
Like United under Ole he is well regarded by too many and this has bought him an inordinate amount of time and patience, it has also meant the axe hasn’t fallen.

Senseless going on. Unless they have someone who can take it until end of the season he should stay until summer. No way can he be manager next season however, even if he wins a cup. Then he’s Ten Haag, not Ole.

Spurs fans have always loved to be entertained, to watch great offensive football. They are certainly getting that with Ange.

I think some of the Ange criticism is unfair. Results and the table don’t lie and that’s not good and the first half v Everton was awful, but key injuries have to be taken into some account.

However, the ‘one trick pony stuff’ is well OTT and just factually wrong. Ange refusing to get into tactical debates with pundits and interviewers does not mean the team plays kamikaze tactics every week. Spurs played Arsenal and Liverpool recently in tight games that could have gone either way. Nothing wrong with Spurs tactical set up in either game, and it certainly wasnt kamikaze.

I don’t think the united manager throwing his players under a bus so publicly is a smart move

A lot of the players need to be thrown under a bus, or more specifically, out of the club. From what I have seen he isn't naming specific players, and instead is stating that the current "culture" among players isn't good enough.

Has there been a year in the past decade at United where "removing the deadwood" wasn't a major talking point?

Yeah just play the kids and sack off any decent adult is the stock response.

Now stuck with a misfiring 21 year old striker, a misfiring 20 year old attacker, a misfiring 19 year old midfielder and a potentially misfiring 19 year old CB all as major parts of the squad while the current big bad is a 27 year old academy player who sits at home waiting to be sold after being forced out.

Cycle repeats and the keeper who was probably the team's best player in 2024 is now moving towards the "main" problem.

The owners literally intentionally turned the club into a soap opera for engagement and the fans have bought into it and continue to. Talk of PR teams and leakers over how to improve things, placated by the new shiny toy.

If they can manage to get past Liverpool in the semi final second leg, they have a great chance to win the cup as you would expect Newcastle to manage to hold onto their lead over Arsenal especially playing at home.

Would Spurs can take a league cup and mid table finish. I'm sure 99% of the match going fans would have took that at the start of the season.

They could go close in Europa League too if there injuries get better

Alex Ferguson gutted Ron Akinsons team when he took over and got rid of players but that was a different time and Ferguson was one of the best managers ever. But his public statements didn’t slag the whole team . Still it’s early days and we’ll see how it works out

PR teams? If United's present keeper ever requires a new one, I imagine you'll head the queue.

ref's need to get a handle on keppers going down 'injured' so the rest of the team can have a water break and team meeting.

Pretty blatant that one. And the dive from Neto. Don't know which is more annoying.

Bit of a howler there from Sanchez, think he has been ok recently but he defo has some banter keeper DNA in there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,479 ✭✭✭mosstin

As top level keepers go, he's appalling. So far below the required level.

Cannot understand why they would not be interested in Kelleher, he is definitely a more consistent keeper and he has shown that form under pressure in the premier league, instead they probably have 7 keepers none of whom are great.

Great interview with Manu Petit on Monday Night Football……recalled how in Wengers first Season in 97’ they came back from 13 pts behind Utd at Christmas to clinch the Title by a point.

Was thinking about that Arsenal side and honestly can’t say any of the current Arsenal team would make the starting 11…..

You could make an argument for Odegard but he is a bit flaky imo……

Ah cool, I was watching with the sound turned down and was wondering why Lucius Malfoy was in the studio.
