Had a look at the stops for the E1/E2 outbound and seems they really didn't bother much wrt to connection to the N4 !

E1/2 north stop at Albert College Estate (stop 90) and then at Trinity Comp (stop 113).

But there are 2 stops much closer to the N4 stop either side of Glasnevin Ave junction.

Ballymun Road NS (stop 91) and Ballymun Library (stop 92). The 19 will serving both, so its not that they are disused stops.

Looks like the 13 will go through Grange Castle using the cuisine de France route variation all day come the 26th January, rather than only some peak time departures. That means stops 4545 and 4576 will no longer be served by it (but will still be served by the W4 & 151).

Also worth mentioning that the 13 was one of those routes that the last departure from Harristown did the full route so the last 13 southbound would leave O'Connell street around midnight .

That will change now with the last departure leaving Mountjoy Square at 11.30pm instead

That makes a lot of sense - the stops missed have alternatives close by on the Nangor Road.

It means that the coverage will be better spread out.

Looks like someone made a mistake - that can’t be right.

Going South bound, there really should be a new stop closer to Collins Avenue extension too to make it easier to transfer to the N4.

Looks like they aren't using Stop 8307 on St Mobhi Road, which is a N2 stop, even though they pass it! Makes transferring between the two unnecessary harder.

Its like the DART line of the Dublin bus network !

Proper north-south line with frequent services , hopefully fast smooth journeys , and good connections in the city .

As of a few minutes ago there are still no signs up on the NCR 46a stops to indicate the service is being changed.

As pointed out above the NCR is being completely shafted. Moving from an 8 min ( and usually in fact much more frequent) to 15 min service and worse outside the peaks will just push punters to the 39a corridor, as also pointed out.

Why not just push the 11 to match the 8 min freq - at least to OCS

I suspect that the Getting across from stop 8307 on Griffith Avenue to turn right onto Ballymun Road might be a tad tricky I suspect. In fact that stop doesn’t feature in the CBC planning application.

There is a stop directly around the corner on Ballymun Road (stop 27).

Bear in mind too that stop locations will be changing when the infrastructure works start and all of the locations are already decided as per the planning permission (the stops north of Collins Avenue - stop 92 northbound and stop 114 are being removed).

Stops 91 and 115 will be the connecting stops with the N4.

Using stop 8307 isn't realistic. That short stretch of Griffith Avenue between St Mobhi Road and Ballymun Road is very busy and trying to get from the bus stop to the right lane would be very tricky and cause even more congestion.

Dublin is ranked 11th as the most congested city in the world, Idk what do you expect…

    Well that is fairly moronic!

What happened to BusConnects Infrastructure supposed to move bus stops closer to junctions to make it faster and easier to swap between orbital and radial routes. You know the whole "connects" part of BusConnects!

I also see the new N2 stop on Mobhi Road going West isn't shown on the CBC, so are they going to remove it? Where to? The other N2 stops are far too far from the E spine here.

And what about the N2 going East, it is a major delay at this location going around the triangle. It looks like it might be able to go straight on now, but there is no bus stop there for it! It feels like whoever designed this CBC completely forgot about the N2. I'd say this part of the CBC will need to be revised.

I haven't looked at every CBC, but the ones I have looked at are full of obvious errors and mistakes, the attention to detail in them is poor.

The stops to the south of Collins Avenue are 2 mins walk from the N4 stops - I really don’t think that’s an issue.

Perhaps the N2 stop could move to the west of Ballymun Road - there’s space for one there if they need to move it.

I don’t think these are insurmountable problems!

I wonder who comes with these lists surely the most congested cities will be all cities in India and China most of which we've never heard of.

I'm just curious, will the 4 and 13 have the same timetable, or will it be reduced since they go a shorter distance?

Surely it would just make more sense to send the 4 to the Phoenix Park which is higher frequency than the 11 and have the 11 go to Hueston. Plenty of buses running along the quays to Hueston with the C and G spines. The 145 currently usually empties out on Aston Quay.

I notice in the timetable for the L26 and L27 no replacement for the 63A via Foxrock Village. So I guess there's no replacement for that service no matter how limited the service was anyway. I'd imagine it'll be the same story for the 45B when the L11 replaces the 45a.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,805 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

I’ve never seen anyone use the stops on the unique section of the 63A - to be honest it’s probably the one route that could be removed!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,626 ✭✭✭mikeybhoy

I agree was more an observation than anything else. Many years ago that was the 63s routing on all journeys.

There used to be a lot of different variations to routes a lot have disappeared in recent years but BC appears to put an end for once and for all to the ones that remain.

Someone on the inside likely has the answer to this question.

A question that was not answered above, what types of bus will we get on the 11/11b ? Is it the same as the 46a or are they going to have some fun and give us the electric single decker (which we are supposed to be getting anyway when it all gets pulled for the O )

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,626 ✭✭✭mikeybhoy

SGs and EVs I'd imagine which is what the 11 gets currently. Donnybrook doesn't have any electric buses yet.

The 19 has just been extended to Merrion Square. That removes the need of the 11 being cut off.

    A bit of evidence.

That's been known since last week and is shown in the timetable.

It was discussed further up the thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 67 ✭✭Taisteal Éireann

Route 4 will mostly become Route B4, which will run from Monkstown/Blackrock/Merrion, etc. along the Quays in the city and onwards to Blanchardstown. When the B-Spine changes happen (eventually), people will already be accustomed to their bus running up and down the Quays rather than via O'Connell Street.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,626 ✭✭✭mikeybhoy

Yeah I get that but not really good enough when the NCR is losing frequency. Another suggestion could be to run the 13 to the Phoenix Park and terminate the 11 at Mountjoy Sq. which would also provide better frequency than the 11

Considering the vast area west of Clondalkin Village still has no 24-hour routes, the last 13 leaving the CC at 11:30pm is utterly woeful. At least when it left Ballymun at that time it would get into College Green and Lord Ed Street around or just after midnight. If you live in Bawnogue or the massive new estates added onto Corkagh Park or off the ring road, you'll be hoofing it some distance from Watery Lane or the Red Cow Luas with the G1 if you don't get your skates on to grab the last 13 by 11:40pm, like it was still 1982.

is it realistic to say that O will probably be introduced later this year and the F Spine next year? This is just based off the delay in implementing 6a but it seems like Busconnects as a whole will take a lot longer than 2026 to fully roll out

On the Real time app, it seems that 13 has already been re-routed to drive via Cuisine de France even though it was meant to be changed when the E spine rolled around.
