The famine in Sudan is because of war. People are fleeing the war. There is very little food. UNHCR is there doing what it can. There is no army targeting them. At the same time there is lots of food for Gaza but your buddies keep on preventing it from going in and attacks those who are trying to get in in. UNHCR are being targeted regularly. Israeli civilians were also blocking trucks and preventing food and aid from entering. They want as many as possible to die. A genocidal nation.

Isn't it a pity he didn't leave with his friend the Ambassador if he dislikes our Government's stance.

''Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world to be a child.'' - 6 pm News. That is some damning statement against Israel.

One glimmer of hope for Gaza is that Trump has made several comments recently suggesting that he is no fan of Netanyahu's and regards him as a troublemaker. It may be that the war criminal Biden was a much more natural ally and friend for the Zionist crowd.

Don't be minding what Trump or any of that cohort says. One minute they're all over each other, the next they're drawing battle lines.

    You cannot trust born liars.

How many Israeli are living in Gaza? Or are you a bit early with that?

I don't know what they are saying on the thread you started. Did anyone tell you they were a "lefty" before leaving and ignoring the "genocide" or was that a data point you pulled out of thin air - the one about "lefties ignoring the genocide"?

And I don't recall the ICJ being involved in the Genocide in Sudan and I'm not aware of arrest warrants for War Crimes in that neck of the woods. Perhaps I'll pop over to that thread.

    Meanwhile, back on topic…

Even with what has happened over the last 15 months, these news items just seem to get worse by the day. I honestly believed Israel could not get any worse. I'm genuinely shocked by these reports. And there's one report I'll deal with separately.

Israel is now targeting all Hamas combatants less than 6 months old; 13 women and children that invaded Israel on Oct 7th were quite rightly "neutralised"; A Senior IDF commander keeps the aul' War Crimes tally ticking upwards; The IDF eliminated a "terror squad" in the West Bank - one was ten years old, the other was eight.

    Haaretz:

Israeli airstrikes killed at least five people in Gaza, medics told AP. One strike hit a home in the central city of Deir al-Balah, killing two men and a woman, according to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, adding that a 4-month-old boy was also killed in a strike on his family homein the nearby Bureij refugee camp. The Hamas-run Health Ministry said that a strike on a home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City killed a 3-week-old baby.

The IDF said it targeted "a number of terrorists who took part in the murderous October 7, 2023, massacre" in the Khan Yunis area overnight into Wednesday, adding that "numerous measures were taken before the strike to mitigate the risk of harming civilians." The Hamas-run Health Ministry said 17 Palestinians were killed in the attack, nearly all of them women or children. The director of the children's ward at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said that five children were killed in the strike as they sheltered together in the same tent. Their bodies were among the eight children and five women brought to the hospital.

A commander in the IDF's Nahal Brigade shot and killed a Palestinian who was assisting Israeli troops in the southern Gazan city of Rafah. According to the report, the Palestinian was forced to serve as a human shield and search buildings in the Khan Yunis area, and had received the IDF's permission to be present in the building. When a commander in the brigade arrived, he identified the man as Palestinian, took out a rifle and shot him to death, not knowing the man was authorized to be present in the building.

Three Palestinians, including two children, were killed in an Israeli drone strike in the town of TamunReda Ali Ahmed Basharat, 8, and Hamza Ammar Ahmed Basharat, 10, were killed in the attack along with 23-year-old Adam Khair al-Din Ahmed Basharat, the reports said. The IDF said that it is investigating the incident, and that the strike targeted a terror squad that planted explosives in the area.

Those long term posters here will recall much discussion around the abhorrent sexual violence of October 7th perpetrated by Hamas. Of course, we know that Zaka invented some horror stories to make a few quid on the side as well as seriously botched attempts to gather body parts (they missed many) to allow a dignified burial.

But ultimately, the only investigation of sexual violence was by Israel. Undoubtedly they would welcome an independent investigation to bolster absolutely valid charges of War Crimes against Hamas - you would think…

The reason they are refusing speaks volumes:

    Haaretz:

Israel is blocking the UN from investigating sexual crimes committed by Hamas during its October 7 attack, as well as the sexual abuse of hostages, fearing it would require granting the UN access to investigate allegations of sexual violence against Palestinians in Israeli detention.

Pramila Patten, the UN's Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, requested permission to investigate Hamas' alleged crimes, but stipulated that her team must also be allowed to access Israeli detention facilities to examine claims of sexual violence by Israeli soldiers. Israel refused the request.

Representatives of the Israel's Women's Network, who met with Patten's team in New York last month, told Haaretz that Israel's approach could result in its inclusion on the UN's blacklist of entities responsible for sexual violence in conflicts, while Hamas could remain off the list.

You have to admire RTE's pathetic attempts to be "balanced" in the reporting of the most imbalanced war in history

RTE: "Three Gazan children killed in Israeli strike"

RTE: "Grief also felt by Israelis as body of Israeli hostage found likely killed by Israeli strike"

Are there many Israeli children in Gaza?

Maybe they were dragged along by their parents to the Genocide Bus Tour (5 shekels a pop) to go watch the murder of Palestinian babies from a safe distance?

I don't believe Trump and Netanyahu are natural allies though. Apparently, there is a fair bit of bad blood between the two and they have never liked each other.

These types will ally themselves to anyone so long as there is something in it for them.

    Their words are worthless.

Trump does seem to have pissed off Bibi today and bibi is unlikely to attend his inauguration. They are both thin-skinned when it comes to criticism.

I'm not sure that Trump's election is good for the regime at all. Trump has been dropping hints this week that he views Netanyahu as a good for nothing and a parasite. Biden was your full blown right wing Zionist, but I have a feeling Trump is not pushed about Israel and is not committed to them.

Smotrich will be War Criminal #3 if he gets his way.

    Haaretz:

Far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said during an online Q&A that Israel needs "to stay in Gaza for a very long time. We need to stop being afraid of the word 'occupation,'" adding that Israel will "assume responsibility for civilians in Gaza."

Smotrich also said that Israel will reduce humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip to the minimum required by international law after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is sworn in on January 20, adding that he expects Trump to give Israel the military and diplomatic backing to "open the gates of hell on Hamas."

Pope Francis called the humanitarian situation in Gaza "very serious and shameful…We cannot in any way accept the bombing of civilians. We cannot accept that children are freezing to death because hospitals have been destroyed or a country's energy network has been hit."

"For 15 months, Israel has been held captive, subjugated. What began as a terrible trauma and a justified war of defense turned into a campaign of killing and revenge that has no end. How does this contribute to the security of the state and its citizens? The loss of one's humanity, the devaluation of human life and the dehumanization of the Arab carries a heavy internal price, not because of the court in The Hague, but because of the sacrifice of hostages and soldiers, and because of what we have become" – Uri Misgav

I don’t know what thread to post in .

Smotrich? No - he is always clear on what he says, and means it. Convicted felon Ben-Gvir is the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,703 ✭✭✭✭Tony EH

    I was being a bit sarcastic. 🙂

Israel aren't allowing the minimum of aid though. They'd need to up the numbers in order to reach it, not reduce them.

    whooosh - over the head!

Reducing aid further from starvation levels will put Smotrich and the Israeli Govt. further into the crosshairs of the ICJ and ICC
