I was considering buying a pair of Timberland boots but part of me feels I'll look like Bob the Builder!

Crop tops and too-short dresses and skirts! I am not particularly tall. I'm average height for a woman, but I have noticed a change in women's clothes over the last 5 years, the tops don't cover your midriff, seeing this with cardigans and jumpers too. I like short dresses/skirts but not when my arse is hanging out of them. It's becoming harder and harder to find clothes that cover your body without being frumpy and old, granny-ish or designed to be worn in an office. I get that the companies who make the clothes are trying to save money by saving material & cutting tops and dresses in half, but I just want a nice top that covers my stomach and a nice-length dress that shows my legs but covers my vagina. Is that too much to ask for?

Or they're cold, or they've nobody to hug (or to hug them back) while taking the photo.

Nah, just don't wear dungarees with them. Anyway, you'll just look like you've stepped out of the '80s/'90s.

Getting alerts from the RTÉ News app at 7.15am in the morning that have sweet fook all importance to the general punter, why not wait until 9am? The same sh1t ass news agency has pretty much zero news coverage from 11pm to 6am at weekends even if a war breaks out. Shower of bollixes.

Keep an eyeout. Lots of charities have bin-type arrangements outside their premises for donations of cans/bottles. You can put in 2/3 bottles, etc., at a time. A possible ta is that they, of course, keep the vouchers when they use the machine to recycle them.

Over the weekend, I was asking younger people what to do about my next-door situation. Most advised me to get an air purifier and filter and run it when the smoke/vapour hits the house I'm in!

Am a little confused as to why I have to shell out 100's of € so I can breathe in my own home when I am not responsible for the air pollution. Ta'ed that the common reaction is that I spend money to solve(therefore enabling) other ppl anti-social habits(to those of us with severe pollen issues)

Any Irish person using "we" when referring to a British soccer team. I don't care if it's Liverpool, Manchester United or Celtic.

It's a ridiculous situation. Another example of why apartment/attached living is such a gamble in this country. There should be hard and strict legislation against noise and air pollution. The people who don't agree can go live in their own utopia and build it themselves with their own means.

    The smell of furniture polish.

Having to scale Mt. Laundry every weekend cause I don't have time to do anything during the week anymore.

Todays TA.. lunch with a family member who is in a bad mood firstly but is offering opinions and advice on situations they’ve pretty much no experience of…. Sit, eat and be quiet.

That must be Nigel with the brie...

Almost every chef on TV when they cook pasta will say 'remember, don't cook it for too long, it's much nicer when it still has a little bite left'. No it certainly is not nicer. It is gross, I like my pasta completely de-fanged.

Theres a fine balance with pasta . Too little and it’s not great , too long and it’s pure muck

A certain german supermarket is always freezing whenever I shop there. Not just by fridges but the whole place.

Totally. pasta ‘al dente’ doesn’t have as much flavour as when it’s left cook for a while. The texture and flavour is brought out by cooking. But overcooking it to mush is no good, in my opinion anyway. Unfortunately a lot of restaurants nowadays seemingly like the ‘al dente’ style which is rubbery, too chewy and often close to tasteless… 🤪

My TA….someone here using the term earlier … ‘ no such thing as bad weather only the wrong clothes ‘…

Look outside, that’s bad weather there, strong wind with torrential and persistent rain, 🤦🏻‍♂️

momentary power cut. But my smart TV won’t automatically reconnect to the internet. Happened before last time but I’m up and running having been knee deep in menus following the software update changing stuff.

I think the ’’woke’ thread is closed , but having a news item on some New Zealand women’s rugby player going to England is mad .
There were 9,000 in a stadium that holds a lot more . Not quite Maradonna moving to the Epl

The same happened to me . It was Toy Story toys and they said no thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,630 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

My local charity shops no longer want toys either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,587 ✭✭✭✭cj maxx

these weren’t teddy bears . Hard toys from Toy Story cleaned and disinfected . Fair enough but they are free . This is a long time ago when Toy Story was still a thing

I've been using online consults eg through Laya for straight forward issue where I need a prescription… can't get an appointment with my own GP for urgent issues, though if you phone early you might get a same day locum appointment.

neighbours cat decides at about whatever hour of the AM to go on a mad screeching rampage. So these neighbours are loud and annoying and so is their cat. When it’s not crawling on your car scratching it or shîtting on your property it’s just screaming waking you up.

When people put those surprise coming home video's online. I've a thing about people sharing everything online tbh.

I get people been excited to come home after years but some of these people are gone a few months.

Also, I've a sibling abroad and I wouldn't like her to land us all of sudden. I'd like to have her room ready, food in, etc. Without having to do it all in a rush.

    Yes, I know I know I'm miserable.

For some now, it's not surprising your mum when you land back from Oz, but it is about the hilarity of the video when you load it online. It doesn't happen unless others see it happening.

I knowif my kids ever go far away, I don't want them filming it and uploading it for the world to see if they land back unannounced.
