Nowhere for ages and then 2 in one weekend, went to sabor Brazil on Washington street - good - reasonably priced , your gonna want to like side beans and rice as sides , but that's kind of like here things being served with chips ,

I had a picanha steak with a cheesy beef and rice dish , 23 Euro, and my brother had a mixed grill , I'll be going back

Went into Bayou on saturday , played it safe on the menu , Po-boy with adouille sausage and fried spuds 👍

,and a muffletta , kind of focaccia sandwich - provolone and salami - good - and a side of corn fritters , again reasonable pricing ,

    Slava ukraini 🇺🇦

Would agree with Ringaskiddy branch staff.

Went only twice in case the first time was a one off but disappointing both times.

I found the food wasnt as nice as the drawbridge st cafe either.

Does anyone know if you absolutely have to book a table for the Bingo in the Woolshed on Friday nights? I'm only asking because you must pay a €10 deposit for each person for a table, but I don't want to get any food there or anything. It would just be drinks and the bingo with friends

Another superlative meal in Paradiso at the weekend. Really consistently excellent food (it's a set tasting menu) and great wine list. Outstanding value at €68 for 6 courses

A new one - Nawabi Hyderabad House (Pier Head Inn, Blackrock) opened, a few folks who have had food here recommend it

I have had a few dishes to eat from here and they were good:

Looks good @Debub I'm always on the lookout for a decent Indian restaurant after recent disappointments…

I'm going to visit the Brook in Glanmire on Sunday to celebrate my mother's birthday, doesn't seem like my kind of food, but the reviews are good.

The Brook Inn is lovely - especially for carvery and breakfast.

I tried a few things recently and enjoyed them so I want to give them a mention

Ocras in the Marina Market - I got the seafood cone and everything was delicious. I shared it with someone who is a bit dodgy when it comes to seafood and they really enjoyed it too. I think they put MSG in their salt or something. Delicious. The only thing I'd be wary of is that looking at the pictures of their other products online, the portions look tiny for the price. Taste is 10/10 though

I tried the Massey Town roast dinner burrito the other day. It's a small portion of roast dinner wrapped up in a giant yorkshire pudding. It was 10/10 for me. Really nice, everything cooked well, and actually easier to eat than I expected. At less than a tenner it is well cheaper than a half-portion at your standard carvery so the price is great too.

I had a carvery there about two years ago and the quality was fairly poor.

Nothing unsafe about the food, in my opinion, but definitely not worth the cost for the quality of what I received.

I wasn't able to go in the end, but will check with the others to see if they enjpoyed it. Thanks @Iguarantee!

buddy and I had brunch in De Calf Corkmarket centre - I had tomato and basil soup and brown soda bread - hearty, wholesome, and tasty - buddy had poached eggs on smashed avocado on sourdough toast - could not fault em - great service - place was v v busy - would highly recommend

Went to Nosh 19. We were pretty impressed. Very friendly and passionate about the food and keen to give recommendations.

The food seems authentic to me and is well priced for what you get. We has meat sung which was really good. Duck noodle soup and pho. The pho was better than the duck but both were good - proper bone broths, lots of duck on the bone.

For me, it's the best Chinese in the city. I don't think anywhere can compete. I think they'll hurt Yuan Ming Yuan's business which is almost next door.

Excellent, thanks for the review TBR.

YMY is getting a bit samey for me, and not worth the money IMHO.

Looking forward to giving this a try!

They also have the board in Chinese with no translation (which I find kinda annoying) but they said they'd recommend something from that the next time.

I don't recall an untranslated Chinese menu in YMY (but they did have a more authentic menu that they didn't give to everyone for some strange reason). Soba had an untranslated blackboard before Covid, too.

Yes, that's the one. Dual language if I remember correctly.

Just back from Nawabi Hyderabad. It's very nice. Menu is quite small but seems like authentic Indian from that region. Very friendly staff too

We were in town yesterday and had thought about going to Nosh 19 but it looked deserted and a bit like a canteen so we went to Yung Ming (first time) based on hearing people raving about the place.

The starters were tasty but the mains (I had chi chi chicken and the pork was a bit tough, sauce was nice though) were disappointing and not much different to ManFu house which is fairly pedestrian.

Nice decor downstairs but the upstairs felt a bit off.

The entrance way is a bit odd but when you get seated, you'll most likely find other diners and a nicer ambiance. It was my impression going in too but I pushed passed this. It's really quite big inside with lots of with nooks and crannies.

Nosh 19 is way better than YMY, in my opinion. It's quite a few years since YMY has been above average Chinese in my experience.

Thats good to know about Nosh, thanks.

Visted my favourite restaurant Market Lane at the weekend, I say it every time but they are just operating at a different level to anywhere else. The food, the service, the atmosphere is unmatched.
