You should have demanded that they sell it at the same price as last year and that they should never change things.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

very much sharing that TA. The prices of fragrances has skyrocketed here.

Comparing one gents Paco Rabanne fragrance and it’s retail price here vs Portugal where I’m hopefully going in April…

    Portugal ( Sephora ) €63

    Ireland ( perfume shop ) €89

Double checked, same exact bottle size and everything….and Sephora is not cheap generally expensive in fact.

Is the alcohol in fragrances taxed like it is in drinks? If so, it could explain the difference. That, the cost of minimum wage, corporate greed, etc. I could be anything.

Finally got a chance to do the IT Christmas crosswords, Jumbo one done so started the Crosaire.

Well, someone messed up! The numbers for some clues are wrong and the number of letters in the grid don't have a corresponding clue.

Found this too. It’s fine online The usual Saturday grid is correct for it if you have a blank copy. Seems a new grid was printed in yesterday’s paper. I use on line so can’t confirm.

Went out to wheel in the brown (organic waste) bin this morning some time after it was collected. Took a peek inside to make sure it was empty and some passer-by had dumped a little plastic bag full of their dog's s**t in there 😡

If things like this annoy me so much in my early 40s, I shudder to think how I'll react in my 60s/70s.

well you've got some nerve coming on here and airing my dirty laundry in public like that 😡

I told you what Stephanie said to me about what Tim got up to with that tramp in Majorca in the strictest of confidence, now Maureens gonna be out to make my life hell all over again. She's after dumping all Michelle's stuff on John's front lawn.

You better ring Tony right now and apologise before dad finds out!

the modern breed of rugby referee who spends more time yapping to players and explaining decisions and negotiating with players to do xyz…. Fûck that….. You have two arms, a whistle, yelllow and red cards. The players know the laws… make calls, sanction players, give clear, concise instructions and otherwise be quiet and get on with the game and just ref it… instead of all this ‘time off’ and subsequent debates and conversations with players …. Just encouraging and facilitating dissent and delays the game.

In Waterford and most pubs are dead on a Christmas week

Guess the 'sniff' is the new drink and no need to down cans

I was going to ask what the sniff was , then I copped on . I remember being in Wicklow at a Santy thing and we ( ex-wife and 2 children ) stopped for food . There was a Liverpool/Utd match on tv and I couldn’t believe the amount of sneachta being passed around

The ‘my posts’ on Boards doesn’t work . It brings you to the forum not the post . I’ve mentioned to on the right thread but it’s annoying

Looking for ages now for a new handbag, one with longish/twin handles, middle zipped pouch and a zip top, big enough to hold a ltr of milk/biscuits etc.

Freaking impossible to find at an all, let alone affordable price! Don't even get me started on the padded ones aka an open invite for ppl to walk into them.

Let's be posh and put on the satin duvet cover and sheets for Christmas they said.

Because nothing says festive joy like sliding onto the floor at three a.m.

My battleaxe of a SIL who had a few unneccesary comments over the Christmas break that upset both my wife and MIL. The former is seemingly useless and incapable of being a prospective mother and the latter has gone fat (due to medication she is on). Of course, she is one of those that put on a posh accent and 100% respects her in-laws more than her own parents because they are minted.

The only solace is she didn't go off on one in front of me as I am not sure I would have held my tongue.

    Christmas with dementia.

Sorry for a mega downer of a post but this jolly season brings home how hard it is dealing with family dementia with absolutely no assistance and not one single give a damn from the state.

Despite every effort to make this year different, to make this year special and in some way memorable for the person I love, it still descends into the heartbreaking chaos of accusations of theft, confusion and fear.

Til today all seemed relatively well but of course we were plummeted back into the depths of confusion and paranoia, anger and sadness very quickly.

Over the years, we have begged and pleaded for help but the gp has essentially told us to just f*ck off and stop annoying them.

I'm sorry if this sadness is outside the spirit of the thread, but as I write this with helpless tears in my eyes, my inner tiny tim asks, please, please can somebody help us.

So far the answer from Ireland is a big fat no.

    Sorry :(

@Archeron , your post both breaks my heart and makes my blood boil on your behalf all at the same time. First port of call I'd say would be a different, more competent and more caring (hell, just more human and humane!) GP. Second, perhaps someone in Long Term Illness would have some advice.

    🫂Sending hugs, too.

I was jut going to post this, when my sis was diagnosed her family got the same run around as op, a carer pointed the family in the direction of AI and their intervention and support has meant the world.

Ta that op's family had to suffer like this bc govt dont like ppl like them.

My friend's daughter was telling her dad about a job she had seen locally she had been considering applying for. He has been haranguing her to go back to work with no consideration for her personal circumstances.

The job was in a posh gym and one of the few jobs that is easily commutable from where she is living(which is why she was thinking of applying). Knowing the likely target audience, she looked at the stats for the ad, and sure enough, they advertise every 12 or so weeks.

She has been targeted in her last few workplaces bc of her size(due to meds),

Her dad told her she didn't have too many choices and should apply anyway as it's easy for her to get to.

I cant articulate why this annoys me so,🙄🙄🙄

Theres an article about Brenda fricker she has no money left .the writer says she starred in the film home alone 2 .

She was in the cast .she was never a movie star .

Actors are working at a job .you need to work every month and get roles every year . being in 2 hit films suddenly does not make you rich .theres electricians out there making more money than the average actor .

Coke is owned by a billion dollar company. They used ai to make their Xmas tv ad .

When you are in the mad mental rush towards Xmas and suddenly it's the 29th December and the media is full on new year's resolution mode. Give us a break.

The gutter is leaking and you can't be arsed going up on a ladder. And it's leaking at the front door. Couldn't it leak round the back or side of the house ?

When a restaurant goes scabby/gets greedy/both. There's a Greek place local to me that always gave you a little bit of salad when you ordered skewers. Nothing fancy, just a bit of shredded lettuce with tomato and onion, but tasty, and contrasted nicely with the salty lamb. Came in there for the first time in a while and ordered my usual, came out as literally two pieces of lamb on a bare plate.

TA that, in a majority of cases, the baby changing facilities are located within the women's toilets. Which means, if I'm out with my son, and he needs to be changed, I either have to run back to the car and change him there or "chance" having to go into the women's facilities and, probably, incurring the wrath of random women through no fault of my own 😅
