You can try contact cleaning spray, but you still need to take it apart, you won't be able to get it under the dome and into the actual joystick potentiometers otherwise.

Looks like China performed another pile on for the game awards people's choice:

Managed to squeeze a few mins of Indiana Jones in yesterday. Was a bit of a slog to get it going. Downloaded it onto my PC which took forever, only to find out it wouldn't run on my GFX card. I have a 2/3 year old Alienware PC so I was bitterly disappointed.

Went downstairs and downloaded it again onto my Xbox Series S and it runs perfectly, go figure. Thank goodness for Gamepass. If I'd shelled out €70 for it on Steam I would have been livid!

Anyway it is great fun so far and I am really looking forward to getting deep into it over the weekend. My favourite thing so far was

getting an achievement for knocking someone out with a guitar :)

I’ve bumped the dedicated Indy thread to the top of the forum so this thread doesn’t get weighed down by Great Circle talk :)

Anyone try that Secret Level series yet?

    I see mixed reviews online.

Soul Reaver remaster is pretty smooth for a PS1 game. I'm surprised at how playable it is .

Its made by the team that made the tomb raider remasters and those were exceptional.

Oddly enough, when I turned on the controller this evening it was working fine again. Must be temperamental.

On the home stretch in MGS3 from the collection. It's still so good. Been singing Snake Eater for the last week. The End boss fight in Delta will be a treat with modern day graphics and the lush jungle environs.

I had forgotten how brutal and visceral Volgin's beating of Snake was. He fúcking battered him. Seeing the "badass protagonist" piss himself really hammers it home.

And you can keep your Lara Crofts, Ada Wongs and Bayonettas. Eva 4 Eva.

The guys of an hour into it and yeah, it's great. Though it also feels lazy in some places because some character models look like they haven't been touched at all and even though it's the old game shined up real nice, the bits that aren't shined up really stand out.

That said, had to stop after an hour because the camera was actually giving me motion sickness. Just the way it can swing and bounce in tight areas or around corners/off ledges just started making me feel off.

    Just finished watching eps 1 - 8.

Ep 5 Warhammer 40,000 stands out. Good watch. Ep 8 Armored Core (used in the promo) is pretty good. The rest I found either a bit random with a few easter eggs or just meh. I haven't played all the games.

Eps 9 - 15 out next week so maybe I'll enjoy those more.

This is an interesting conversation, they can mobilize and skew any popular vote and rating like no one else, on the other hand Black Myth Wukong and Genshin Impact are in fact quite popular, including in my house, so they're clearly doing something right too.

Started Mafia a couple of days ago after I finished up Shattered Space. It's good so far anyway and the graphics are pretty good too.

Has anyone played Undisputed? Will it fill the Fight Night shaped hole in my heart?

The new game in the series, The Old Country (prequel set in Sicily), will be shown at The Games Awards tomorrow night for those interested. If they're targeting a release for next year you'd imagine it would have to include gameplay footage.

Speaking of TGA, Jason Schrier (sp) said there will be 2 big announcements people won't expect. Another journalist jumped in to confirm the hype. Wonder what they might be...

Looking forward to Mafia Old Country footage but have to say, would have much preferred the rumoured Mafia 4 taking place in 70's Vegas.

Bonus for me, Twenty One Pilots will be performing new song The Line from Arcane season 2 and both Dina's from The Last of Us game and TV show will be hosting. They also got Snoop performing a song from his new album and you can just imagine the amount of ads they will gave to pay for all these guests.

It won't happen but I'd love some Max Payne news. It's been two and a half years since it was announced so some gameplay or similar update would be most welcome.

    "People won't expect."

Well, we're all expecting/hoping for Bloodborne remaster/sequel news, Silksong, GTA6 trailer, TLOU3, Elder Scrolls 6 etc

You mentioned Arcane there. I'll guess at a 3D action game in that universe but not necessarily controlling Vi or Jinx.

Man, i cannot wait for Max Payne footage. I've been itching to play the first 2 games again but holding out for the remake.

And coming to Xbox. Pre order a copy and get a t shirt with Deacon St. John on the front and Boozer on the back.

Maybe it's Switch 2 launch date or maybe even Halloween Knight sequel launch date. No one is expecting those.

Every time they say this it's a game nobody cares about but the execs think we should care about.

    Unless it's ace combat 8.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,625 ✭✭✭Mr Crispy

There was an Ace Combat 7? Completely passed me by apparently.

I'd also welcome Max Payne news, but would absolutely love me some IO Interactive Bondage action.

Fully agree on this. I'm oldschool enough to have been burned by the Megaton Gamecube rumour, something I've never recovered from at all 😂 I blame my overwhelming cynicism on this….

Anyway, from the game news thread, looks like one of these announcements will be Valve releasing new VR hardware.

As to the other one, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see MS announce some PC-Xbox stuff, they're clearly moving in this direction for the next console, and have already done some stuff (more PC games have been brought into the Xbox App).

I'm having a lot of fun with Marvel Rivals but bruh the amount of 0 self aware players on there charging ahead after a party wipe to fight all the Avengers solo and crying about getting no heals (5 dps, 1 healer - me) is making me think this is the beginning of my villain arc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 36,196 ✭✭✭✭Penn

So just like Overwatch then? It became such a common occurrence for Genji players to constantly whizz about the place away from everyone else, spam that they need healing, get the healer killee and half the rest of the their team killed because they pulled the healer away from everyone else, and then complain everyone else on the team was sh*t.

The game looks fun and seems to have been pretty well received. Will probably start dipping into it myself round Christmas.

The PSP is 20 years old today. Fantastic console and library that was unfortunately up against the all time great that was the DS. Had a few flaws as well that made it a lesser portable machine than the DS but can't argue with that library of games.
