i wonder who is next ,is there another rapper movie producer or very rich person who is abusing women and engaging in sex trafficking ,we just have not heard about him yet.

A lot of rap music is based on boasting about having sex with loads of women and using drugs ,the gangsta lifestyle.

russell brand got away with doing bad things years ago because he lived in england.

theres a clip of taylor swift saying ,i,d love to go on a date with p.diddy from 10 years ago

i think kanye is smart every time he go,s out with his wife half naked he gets more publicity and is featured in every gossip blog or tabloid newspaper.

it would be hard to find a famous actor or singer in hollwood who did not go to p diddy.s partys at least once.

He was worth around 2 billion a few years back, he's now worth 400. So while still plenty, his public appearances and scandals have only negatively impacted him. Now he's got rape allegations coming out which are likely to cost him as well.

Jay Z has been named as the other person allegedly involved in the rape of a 13 year old.

His “reply” via a press release statement is somewhat rambling and sounds to me like he’s extremely panicked - he attacks the lawyer representing the alleged victim - the goes on to talk about his own kids -- all a bit bizarre sounding -

I didn't see a denial from him in either link. Bizarre lengthy statement olrite.

If he was hanging out with Diddy in the late 90's early 2000's then there might be footage of him in the possession of the FBI. Chances are he has done something unsavoury. He hasn't distanced himself from Diddy publically. And he didnt deny the allegation in his statement. His rant was a bad move, it is very similar to Diddy's original statement before the video of Cassie getting beaten up came out. Hope he gets his karma if this is true. If he is smart he will say nothing and pay to make this go away, and the next one and the next one. I forsee divorce and bankruptcy in his future. Beyonce will take the kids and money and run.

Indeed- let’s see what Beyoncé might do over the coming week- I can’t see her remaining quiet- a hell of a lot to lose

Is there a statute of limitations I wonder on this particular crime in California which would for me, really point to a red herring and would make that statement (below) look like total smoke and mirrors and meaningless - I’ve linked to an article below - I believe the article is saying that there is a limit on such crimes committed historically but not if they were committed after 2017? Or have I read that wrong?
Certainly if the alleged victim is no longer permitted to make a criminal complaint then a civil complaint is all that’s open to them

EDIT- apparently this happened in New York

    https://www.manlystewart.com/articles/what-is-the-statute-of-limitations-for-sexual-assault-in-california

“In his statement, Jay-Z suggested that the allegations were part of a broader strategy to pressure celebrities into settlements due to the negative publicity surrounding such claims. He urged Buzbee to file a criminal complaint rather than pursue a civil case if the accusations were genuine, stating that anyone guilty of such crimes should face severe legal consequences.”

So what happens in the celebrity playbook in these circumstances?

    1. Allegation made- no criminal investigation either due to unwilling victim or a statute barred situation - so only civil route open
    2. Celebrity vigorously denies, throwing out a load of hot air and meaningless rubbish in their statement
    3. However, celebrity can’t afford (from a brand perspective) to let this go to civil court - so counter-sues for blackmail -
    4. Both parties “settle” out of court - prepared statements agreed and issued - gag order imposed on all - job done! Celebrity must give the allusion that there was blackmail involved and that this was a shakedown - since nothing can be admitted after the settlement both sides “win”. In reality, the celebrity pays out a serious amount of dosh and covers all legal expenses of the victim without admitting any liability

Let’s see if this is the chosen route.

    That was already offered.

It was declined by Jay-Z and now he has taken a lawsuit against the Attorney's.

Yes- but he has to. He can’t be seeing to “settle” the initial lawsuit against him- he needs to introduce his own counter lawsuit first . Then settle- that muddies the waters and no one will know just who backed down on what 😀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,508 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

He wouldn't have been seen to settle the initial lawsuit, it would have been tied up in ironclad NDA's, etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 352 ✭✭backwards_man

Everyone knew Cassie had settled even if the details f that settlement didn't come out. Getting the lawsuit in the papers is a first step. Let's see if this goes away, hence he settled or if it goes the distance.

That would be more of a reason for Jay-Z to settle in private with an NDR.

Unless of course there is more to come.

Apparently 90+% civil cases settle in America before coming to the courts

Apparently the original request wasn’t even a demand for money but for some sort of truth meeting or something - that’s according to alleged victims lawyer - hard to know what to believe - once it gets played out in the media I’ve no doubt both sides will revert to saving face and will say whatever to protect their side.

I do hope in all of this there isn’t a victim who’s suffering - not sure we’ll ever know with any degree of certainty

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,508 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

I imagine even if there was no substance to the allegations his lawyers would still have advised at least a meeting with them or some sort of hush money compensation.

Jay-Zs "statement" certainly wasn't drafted by a legal professional.

A “United” front - I do hope the allegation is false - there was allegedly “another” possibly female celebrity present when the two rapes took place - I wonder if/when they will be added to this case- surely they would be classed as a witness at the very least

The downfall of Jay Z and Queen Bey can't come quick enough. The rumours thst he was worse than Diddy are not new and Beyonce can't pretend to be not privy to this. The United front and all smiles as if nothing is happening is creepy. It's mad that she was campaigning on "Trust Women" for Kamala only weeks ago. Surely the Feds had info on all these celebs campaigning for the next president beforehand!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,605 ✭✭✭silliussoddius

What kind of info do you think the Feds would have on them, and why?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,416 ✭✭✭jj880

Diddy got zero public support from his best buddy JayZ. Radio silence until now. JayZ and Beyonce must be worried about Diddy singing like a canary.

Given he’s in jail and likely to stay there for a very long time - quite possibly life- I don’t think he’ll have much to bargain with TBH- he can sing all he wants but he’ll still get a hell of a sentence

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,416 ✭✭✭jj880

Agreed he probably doesn't have much to bargain with. If I was betting Id say that wont stop him trying though.

A now deleted post from 50cent. I know hes no angel but he raises a valid point. Can JayZ just carry on as normal with this allegation hanging over him? Will be interesting to see.

Well the answer is “yes he can”- but for me that’s not really the question. The question is, will he and his wife and indeed family continue with their success and wealth as they have known it up to now ?
Im not sure they will - mud sticks regardless in most of these cases- we’ve heard what has been alleged - this case will settle out of court simply because over 90% of such cases are settled in America out of court - and if true it won’t do JayZ any good to enter a courtroom in full public gaze on this.

As for their marriage? I’m thinking it’s over at this stage - Bouncy will want to cut in order to keep her career going and she’ll also want to focus on her daughters career.

If the story is true, I think it can be guaranteed that more accusations of a similar nature will come to light - the war of words in the newspapers back/forth against the lawyer is pure deflection from the matter at hand - he won’t be able to continue this smoke and mirrors if more accusations arise

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,416 ✭✭✭jj880

I would include wealth etc in "carry on as normal" so we're in agreement. I don't think so either. Im not aware of any high profile celeb that's not taken a hit in some way from allegations like this. Speculation is rife about the woman in the room also. Beyonce wont be happy with that for sure.

Rumours are not facts though are they?

Not so sure what the "Feds" have to do with it.

Are you suggesting the FBI should have relayed these rumours to the Secret Service?

Shirley “the woman in the room” who’s apparently a celebrity in her own right, will be named sooner rather than later?
