Does anyone know if Job Test Prep is still beneficial if the test will be SOVA? The AP package they offer is based on the AON system.

Has anyone else notices this in the candidate preparation booklet for the assessments?

"Please note, there is no further information or practice material available for the Situational Judgement Test on the SOVA Candidate Preparation Hub."

I'm on the SOVA website using the link provided in the booklet, and there is literally a full section on situation judgment with practise material available.

Just wondering if the situational judgement section is different to SOVA? It doesn't appear to be a different format, so just found that a little confusing.

JTP have a general AP one, and a SOVA package. I did the latter before. Am going to do the AP one this time. Didn't find the SOVA practice very similar to the SOVA real thing. I guess JTP can't keep up with the whims of SOVA, they can change things around if they like.

It's possible that PAS are making up their own situational judgement for this test, using SOVA for numerical/verbal. So they're just giving you a heads up not to expect it to be similar to the SOVA one of the SOVA site?

I have bought the SOVA package off job prep. If anyone who has bought the AP package would like to trade details to have access to both test packs, let me know!

Send them an email, I had the AP package and when SOVA was announced, I emailed and they added it for free.

Does anyone have the information booklet to share? Can't find it on public jobs and lost whatever copy I downloaded in October...

I completely missed the call out for this competition, gutted!

If it's any comfort it looks a short one as they said in the booklet they don't expect any appointments after December 2025.

OMG this SOVA verbal stuff is awful! I've always done really well at these in the past (but failed the situational one for AP 2022 lol) but I just bombed the SOVA practice one. "…the growth of social media means there are now 3.4 billion users….." "Social media marketing allows companies to connect with 3.4 billion users. True/false/cannot say" I said cannot say, because just because the text says there are 3.4 billion users doesn't mean that all of them are accessible to marketing. But the test says true! Yikes. Not feeling good about this now at all……

It’s my first time doing these assessments! Want to practice them at the weekend! Has anyone done them since they got the link? What’s the most alike online tests to the actual test in the link we received.

    thanks a million

I purchased the practice pack off jobtestprep.co.uk but am also using chatgpt to practice questions.

Has anyone taken the real test yet? How did you find it in difficulty level compared to jobtestprep?

I had bought the AP pack and wasn't doing great with it (5s and 6s normalised score) - verbal was particularly hard in the AP pack. However I got an update saying they'd added a SOVA pack and tried it there and got 10s in both, obviously a lot more encouraging! Wondering which it's more like.

    Edit: NVM, I found it.

Did you find the tests overall good value?

Anyone do the real tests yet, please tell me they aren't as complicated as the Sova examples on Job Test Prep.. finding them all difficult enough, but particularly the numerical

I may have spoken too soon in my original post - getting lower scores on subsequent verbal tests, lol. Got lucky on the first ones I think.

I think it's good practice but I'm not necessarily getting better scores the more I practice - if anything I think it's making me overthink my answers, so I'm not too sure whether I would have just been better off trying the test on the day

I found the first two easier than the rest.

Sometimes I just plain get it wrong or misread it and the answer makes sense. Other times, I just disagree with the answer e.g. "frogs are resistant to X", statement: frogs are impervious to X. I click false because impervious and resistant have vastly different meanings. However, the answer is true.

I did the tests yesterday. The verbal wasn't too bad but the numerical was a disaster. Plenty of guessing.

Yeah, the verbal is touch and go.. the cannot say throws me off a bit!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32 sbtr2023

    Oh $hit, that's what I was worried about 😂

The verbal on jobtestprep is beyond nitpicky - some of the explanations have me rolling my eyes! Hope they're not that level of nitpicky on the actual test, it really has you second guessing yourself!

I done them & compared to the HEO ones I done last wk, I thought they were alot easier which should not be the case.

HEO was timed 18 Questions in 6 mins & had to flick between tabs to find the correct info, wasn't possible to get Questions finished.

AP 15 Questions, not timed but they recommend 15 mins, which is a min per Q which I found was sufficient.

I did them this evening!! Do yourself a favour and do them with a fresh mind not after a full day of work and on a Friday I made some stupid mistakes in the verbal test and took too long on the numerical!!!

Oh well have to wait and see now!

When you get the results do you get a breakdown with the answers etc or just a score or simply pass or fail??

Be good for future to know where I went wrong! 😑

Historically just the score, and whether or not you made the cut off.

I messed up the room scan, I forgot to do the desk scan part of it. Didn't want to proceed with the tests then so I emailed PAS to reset it. Guess I'll get to it Monday.

How did you find the numerical test? couldn't come up with an answer to one of the options for at least half of them.

I was thinking that after work on a Friday is exhausting 😂 good luck with results and it’s just the score you get in your results
