What does Barbie Miriam offer to this debate? Just give it to Sarah permanently. She's asking the hard questions!

As Jim O'Callaghan's sister, she should not be chairing the debate. We have enough bias.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Martin is being a real tool now by refusing to enter coalition talks with Sinn Fein. It's very disrespectful to the electorate.

Mary Lou doing well here or the other two lads looking very poor more so

SF had 4 seats in 2010. How can Martin say they opted out over 100 years?

Simon Harris is very difficult to listen to for over an hour.

Simon Harris begins his response to so many questions with "That's a really important question." "That's a really good question." "That's a really relevant question."

He's buying time to think of an answer.

MAry Lou nailing the 2 lads on having a deal to keep each other in government.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,255 ✭✭✭Danye

The more I watch, the poorer he’s coming across. He’s desperate and insincere.

Is there a possibility of him loosing his seat, never mind getting back as Taoiseach?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭golfball37

Is Simon sane? Genuinely. He’s surely after sinking Fine Gael tonight . He’s unhinged , impatient and not coming across well at all.
I wouldn’t mind he’s been a big improvement on Leo as Taoiseach

I saved us from COVID. How many times has he said it.

There was no winners tonight but the biggest losers is us the Irish voters.

I dont know about you but independents all the way

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,301 ✭✭✭DenMan

Martin's closing statement was all about me, a great man of the people. We should be so lucky to have him.

I'm no shinner but Mary Lou calling the two lads out for what they are was brilliant.

Harris just oozes insincerity, when he talks, when he's silent, his mannerisms…everything about him is fake and condescending.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,255 ✭✭✭Danye

Very few Independents though. Kate O’Connell will prop Fine Gael as will Lowry etc.

Healy - Rae will support FF. I’m sure there’s other Independents who’ll prop other parties but I can’t think of any at the minute.

    Harris couldn't intimidate a pre-school toddler.

Probably thought Martin came off best, then Mary Lou. There's something very unlikable about Simon Harris, like a toddler throwing his rattle out of the pram.

HHe Is the lad that would rat you out or the class out in school to get a pat on the head from the teacher. Such an unlikable character, didn't think they could do worse than varadkar but Harris is close

Harris emploring fine geal voters to vote for similar minded parties after them i.e finna fail is pretty wild

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,544 ✭✭✭morphy87

If MM wanted he could have gone after harrris on a few issues, the candidate running in Louth, the debacle with the care worker over the weekend and also Mary hildigarde Naughton backing that councillor after knowing that they had sent inappropriate messages, but he didn’t, it’s fairly obvious after tonight that MM and Harris want to go back in together again whether you agree with it or not, going forward if they get into office again it’s pointless having a three way leader debate again, the media trying to build it up, not a Sinn Fein voter or won’t be but I can see them gaining some momentum over the next few days

similar parties, so left economically and soft touch on immigration, world class welfare. Sound like… Every other party…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 914 ✭✭✭nolivesmatter

So that was a 2 on 1 team up from Harris and Martin. The only way to get these two fuckers to go head to head is if no one else is in the debate but them.

Mary Lou not answering any questions was less than brilliant.

No prizes in govt for insulting people.

That last kid in Tipp cutting through all the bullshit and asking the hard question on the real pertinent issue of the day.

The question the MSM is afraid to ask.

McEntee has comments turned off on her X account.

Not a great look 2 days out from an election.

Funny how people watch the same thing and have different opinions. Only watched till 1030 but thought she was pretty poor, and had very little detail on anything when pushed. Even by the overall non answer standard, she's was even more off topic then the others, and it should be easier being in opposition. The fact she went back to her tweedle dee comments probably enforces how I feel about her performance, a sound bite we have heard before with little substance.

On contrary to most I thought Harris was good, and would had expected him to be the poorest going in.

Nothing in the debate will change anyone's mind you would expect.

They just need to merge at this stage. Last night was embarrassing for them both.

I'll give you one reason and I have never voted for FF or SF. I am in Galway West - we have never elected a SF TD until 2020 and then Mairead Farrell came along out of nowhere. I know that a lot of SF votes came from previous FF voters. Martin needs those votes back but he is insulting those voters by saying he won't talk to SF.

Also, Martin is lying - he'd go into coalition with ISIS to become Taoiseach again.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

I'm back home the last few days and the flyer that came in the door from him is something else.

The first pic of him that catches your eyes is literally one of him holding a baby.

    Why?

So all the misogynists and racists can have a go at her?

Yeah, unhappy with her performance as minister for justice, obviously a man and dislikes foreigners.

It's these kind of lazy retorts that will ultimately destroy the current parties. Any criticism of government ministers or policies is automatically labelled with an 'ist. And if anything, it is the main reason for the rise in independents and fringe parties.
