Think at first glance it looks a greatly balanced squad, not a fan of double arsenal Def but could easily work out. Only issue is if no haaland can't understand how no Palmer, as on paper Salah seems your main c so if he gets a one week knock rotation could leave you caught out. A Raya downgrade and a Bruno/mbuemo to Palmer would be my suggestion

I was awaiting on Saka/Mbeumo news and other flags to move Palmer in. He will be in by deadline tomorrow. Was catching Bruno prise rise if was going with him. I can get to Palmer easily enough and not loose much shape to team.

I think Palmer is a dead cert for the next few weeks, could be a huge mistake not to have him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,335 ✭✭✭✭shmeee

I can do Bruno to Palmer, and just find 0.1 from one of my defenders. That's the route, just not sure which one to downgrade down.

Who's gonna slot in for White in Arsenal? Timber? And Calaflori on the left. Both cheaper than Gabriel but not much goal threat.

Have tinkered so much I now have Strand Larsen in the team.

Is Calafiori not out? I'm thinking of going Timber and Zinchenko as a punt if that's the case. Might be the wildcard fever talking.

Calaifori trained and is available for selection.

But do I want that risk like? Arsenal options are so limited in defence all the same.

Easier just downgrade Anderson to something and sit on bench anyway.

Or just get Saka out for Plamer seeing as he only in partial training, and get him back week after. Saka probably drop the 0.1 also.

That's a tough one because I have Bruno as well and expecting a new manager bounce at United. Especially with a Portuguese manager you'd be expecting Bruno to step up to the plate over the next few weeks.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be going without Bruno. Granted they have a few tough games coming up but if the manager is going to turn them around then Bruno is an excellent price.

Re defenders I wouldn’t be going with stopgaps like Timber. It’s coming into a very busy period and not many teams have been keeping clean sheets.

I’d rather have 4-5 CB’s that play every week for decent teams and pick 3 each week. Players like Andersen (amazing value at 4.3m), Milenkovic/Murillo, Colwill/Fofana are all great picks. You could throw in a couple of regular starting FB’s like Hall or Robinson.

Also easy to use a FT in 3-4 weeks to move one of those defenders on to whomever looks the best Man U wingback once we know who’s starting and which one is getting more forward or more nailed.

I've diverted to Mbeumo → Palmer and Raya → Sanchez. Exact funds and leaves 0 ITB.

Mbeumo EO could kill me next week or 2 before the fixtures turn, but upsides hopefully with Bruno and other assets in on WC.

To be fair looks an amazing team now am a little jealous, super balance and big hitters

Just make a final idea, 3rd sub of Anderson is prob never going play could potentially save .2 .3 there for future moves to someone like Greaves, but if plan rotating him in Id leave him there and may need over the xmas period

Anderson was one of the first I got in, just a solid "guaranteed" minutes option to have for GW's 17-22 when Wolves fixtures swing and likes of Pedro also could be bench-able then for a difficult game or 2. But if I need to downgrade to put out fires prior, that can be done and he will be the option to find that .2 or .3 as you say.

We will have rotation risks over Christmas and wanted to go as heavy as I could on this WC to help potential issues.

Andersen is one of the better defender picks and at only 4.3m.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,342 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

That’s a great squad for the busy festive period.

The obvious problem is benching players but hopefully you’ll be able to save up 4-5 FT’s now and you can use those in January to maybe downgrade a couple of players and use that cash elsewhere.

https://fpl.team will allow to to see who you might rotate over the next few weeks so you can see upcoming benching headaches. Or not.

Gone pressed the button on wild card number 2 as season has been fairly poor for my team since about game week 7. Hoping to play bench boost soon so want to go for a playing bench and have left nothing in the bank. Any advice on the possible changes to the following appreciated:

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

do you want to target Southampton fixtures

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,717 ✭✭✭macraignil

Sounds like a good idea to me but I brought in Jiminez for his game against them a few weeks back just to see him get 0. The way this season has gone for me if I target Southampton they probably will go unbeaten for the rest of the season.

Edit: Not playing the wildcard to target just one week but hope to keep team unchanged for a few weeks after playing it to build up some free transfers.

I really like that actually, the city boys a potentially very high ceiling differential and you’ve covered all the main high owned players/teams.

Think I’d definitely try get in a goalie that doubles in 24/25 though so Pickford or Alisson as my main keeper. Not sure how the funds on that are but presuming you are playing 343 I’d say you could thin out your 5th defender to Greaves at 3.9? Also don’t see the logic behind Ramsdale at 4.4 as your sub goalie. They are useless and you’ll never pick him. That’s another spot to pick up funds, I’d go one of the West Ham keepers at 4.1/4.2 (will take a leap of faith as to which one) to be your sub keeper to Pickford/Alisson. I think Pickford is a good option as keeper, they have a good defence and Moyes won’t change that too much and he has the double soon.

If you want Palace could potentially get Munoz into that defence somewhere.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Definitely had Pickford in a couple of my drafts but just don't fancy him to keep that many clean sheets over the next few games and the money saved in bringing in Henderson instead seems to me to be better invested in other positions. Ramsdale is only in for playing the bench boost and I'm going to downgrade to a non playing keeper to free up some transfer funds once I have that used. Potter in at West Ham could make their keeper a good pick but willing to wait to see who he decides is first choice. Greaves and Munoz also seem like good options and may move for one or both of these over the next few weeks as normal transfers.

This is what I'm looking at

    Areola v Sa

    Timber v Saliba

    Wissa v Wood

    Are probably the three options

Have you definitely pulled the trigger ?

There are some unclear stories around Hall. The most recent I’ve heard is that he’ll miss the cup final and could be out for a while. I’d like clarity on that one myself. EDIT - just read he’s out for the season.

Nwaneri looks dodgy as Saka should be back before end of the month.

Of the 3 you’ve asked about I’d only be confident on Saliba over Timber.

I’d probably spread the risk and go Sa as you already have AWB.

Not set in stone just yet but i think it makes sense for me. I could limp on until 30 but I think the extra info is outweighed by the possible upside.

I have Hall, Isak & Cunha definitely out and Konate and Dango at risk of not starting.

WCing allows me to get Haaland 2/3 weeks before the big pile on. Sets me up nicely for 29.

Munoz would come in for Hall.

A replacement for Nwarie is tougher, I'll probably just keep the 1m and see who is hot when Saka is back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,342 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

I’m expecting Isak to start for me this GW unless I’ve missed something.

I’m thinking of buying Konate for Hall this week.

Talk of Isak being out for the final

    https://x.com/thelittlemans/status/1897233377566319029?t=3b1zl7wuY_AdKICEFvjKOg&s=19

If there's any risk he won't play this weekend IMO.

I think Konate gets a rest between PSG games as well, Liverpool are fairly light at the back and his injury record isn't great. But that's just speculation on my side

Tempted to go Minteh & Gabriel over Kluivert & Timber on the below

Alternatively could go Minteh ahead of Nwaneri

Someone may set up a new Wild Card thread as this one is fucked and there’ll be a heap of WC discussions over the next few weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,342 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

Minteh a fantastic option but only if he gets the minutes.
