Anyone else fail a part of the PCT, what happens next!!

Rang HRPD and they said I have to wait for my results to be emailed to me. Also on Saturday they never gave me back my form that the doctor signs, do I have to get a new one and get it signed again?

Hi all,I'm looking for advice here as I'm stuck in a pickle.Had my results from interview and got excellent results and my order of merit is a just over 100.Recieved the notification from public jobs and now public jobs have.asked me for my leaving cert or leaving cert alternative which I did in the mid 90s and nor the states examination office or the school have the records. Its the only thing holding me back.im in my mid 40s and this is the only shot I'm going to have at this.Has anyone the same situation, I'm very worried public jobs won't now send my details to Garda HQ which I find unfair,I'm even thinking of contacting HR in Garda Hq to state my case.Any advice welcome 🙏

    Hi Con,

I emailed them just looking for any update or what stage the application was on and that was their response

    Hi,

It would be worth a shot to call or email the HR department in HQ and explain your case, even get it on email to send on to public jobs which ever their response, or whatever avenue you can go down

Have you done any other courses with NFQ level 5 or greater? If you have submit the cert/s for them.

    Or

Ask the school and state examinations for something in writing regarding no records and send them in to public jobs. Not sure if it'll get you over the line but you'd have a stronger case with evidence that what you're telling them is correct and verified by the relevant bodies responsible for examination results.

Can you wait till after the vetting to get eyes done? Did they tell you you had to do it before the vetting was done?

I’ve basically completed form b but it says only 58% completed..does this go up to 100% once you click the declaration?

Stupid question but want to be sure I’m not missing anything

Regarding Form B, what do applicants do if they are estranged from some family members, as in extended family you just don't have contact with for multiple reasons or none at all?

I've "relations" that I just don't know a thing about and can't imagine tracking them down or getting personal information about them would be an easy task. Akin to asking a stranger for their DOB and address history etc!

Surely someone has been in similar circumstances.

Past my eye test in HQ so now just the rest just waiting on the vetting.

Write an affidavit and get solicitor to sign it. 10 euros. Or write to hr as they have a temple one

    Hey all.

    Dean here

Not sure if any of them may be here,

But I did the PCT test on 8/11/2024

Hope a few o you are..

But have a few questions i wasnt really able to get a straight answer to….

PCT was passed and everything prior…. However im concerned about the following..

1 File Review .. Got told my file is under review and will be sent for vetting when review is completed… Has the Garda Vetting not even started yet seeing as i filled in the form B over 5 weeks ago?

2 If i did not have the leaving cert requirements, would I have made it this far or do they only review this at the file review stage?

3 How long does the overall review take after you complete your medical ( I have spoken to a few Garda and a couple have said they got a call within 2 weeks to a month )

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41 1234_1234

I did the pct in oct 23

as far as im aware vetting doesn’t start until you pass the pct and the medical and drug test

Some people do get called relatively quickly but it’s quite likely to be waiting a long time

My vetting had started before I went for the PCT as one of my Uncles was contacted two weeks before and my two references were contacted the day before I did the test.

At least I know its not just sitting on someone's desk gathering dust.

same here, my references were contacted in September, first week and I didn’t have my PCT until mid October..
