The annual INDY NXT Chris Griffis memorial test at IMS was held yesterday.

Hailie Deegan's results were... less than stellar; being about as far off as Lindsay Brewer was in last year's test — which in my view does not bode well for Hailie's full-season prospects unless there is a marked improvement over the rest of the winter.

Hailie Deegan did a very interesting interview with Kenny Wallace this week , Hailie pointed to the opportunities to have a lot of testing and a lot of data to compare to including her team mates.

Hailie could be a complete flop in open wheel ,but for all the negativity around her , the infinity team that dropped her has gone backwards with its results since .

Jamie Chadwick , who hasn't resigned with Andretti Indynxt is chasing an Indycar drive for next season - Dale Coyne the best opportunity?, Rinus Veekay had a solid test with the team in recent days and if monies become available he is probably best placed to take one of the two available seats.

Jonathan Browne has signed for Chip Ganassi's new Indy NXT team, obviously it's a great opportunity for his career to race for them but the brutally awful Niels Koolen is his teammate so it's hard to know how seriously Ganassi are taking their venture into that series

Jamie is clearly trying to raise sponsorship for a full season worst case for her will be a part-time schedule though I'd doubt she would be ready for the Indy 500 this season, it may not necessarily be with Dale Coyne there are still seats available with Juncos, RLL, Prema and with spiralling budget increases to run cars you couldn't rule out any of those teams going with drivers sharing rides

Iinteresting development today ,apart from Penske Entertainment buying the Long Beach GP, Monaco will move to a first week in June date from 2026 and consequently no longer clash with the Indianapolis 500.

Sorry to break the bad news but Sting Ray and his big bag of Jesus money are back for another season with the cash strapped Juncos Hollinger team

Grosjean is trying to raise sponsorship to remain the other JHR seat which is probably his only option to remain in Indycar

The positive is Sting Ray's big bag of money probably means that a paying driver is not needed for the other seat.

The strong rumour is JHR were the team that offered Valterri Bottas a seat for 2025.

The implication is Grosjean is not being considered ,and Romain hinted as much when saying Dale Coyne was probably his best option.

Conor Daly could be back in the running for the seat.

It has been an eventful racing career for Pietro Fittipaldi. There is something pretty inspiring about how he does not give up, no matter what gets thrown at him. Does he have what it takes to make a bigger mark in IndyCar?

Conor Daly confirmed in the #78 JHR for 2025 !

Relief thankfully Sky Sports F1 is on the Indycar website list of 2025 International Broadcasters as the UK/Ireland broadcaster despite no specific announcement, their previous contract had expired at the end of 2024

Romain Grosjean confirmed as Premas reserve driver for 2025.

Dale Coyne hope to confirm their two drivers in the next few days.

Jacob Abel has the Dale Coyne no. 51 drive full-time so the only vacant full-time car is the Dale Coyne no. 18 got to hope Veekay wins the powerball otherwise it will be Indy only at best for him

And positive news about the Fox booth lineup!

Rinus Veekay confirmed at #18 Dale Coyne Honda.

Good news for Veekay and Indycar.

Fox have been running high profile indycar ads ,including during the superbowl, which is further good news for Indy.

The Fox ads with Newgarden, Palou and O'Ward are superb, it was crazy watching Fox Superbowl pre-game coverage seeing Indycar ads which would have been unimaginable years ago hoping it's a positive sign for their coverage for the years ahead

Back to racing I'm really happy to see Veekay secure the Coyne drive, he has way more talent than just being an Indy only driver Coyne may be a really good fit for him thankfully the funding came from somewhere

Conor Daly is in serious of bother with his Juncos Hollinger drive as his Polkadot sponsorship has fallen through. Juncos Hollinger have also 'paused' their Indy NXT team that team is definitely not healthy I'm increasingly doubting there will 27 full-time cars this season for every race outside of Indy
