As a Herta fan and a member of the Anyone But Newgarden (or Ferrucci) club, I was bitterly disappointed with that Indy 500. Was screaming for Pato at the end. Now to try and work after 5 hours sleep.

These cars are already utilising the maximum out of slick tyres, and on the limit of adhesion as it is with a tiny contact patch owing to the tyre stagger. You absolutely cannot add the variable of wet conditions or treaded tyres to that mix, especially not at these speeds.

I'm gutted for Pato when he pulled out of that pass on Newgarden at Turn 3 on Lap 199 I didn't think he was going to pull off the win as if he was already haunted after the previous two years

You could see him hold back and delay his final pass, but still passed too soon allowing Newgarden time to come back at him.

But then if he wasn't ahead before the last lap he would be in danger of a caution on the last lap

Maybe if one of his team mates to hit the wall and bring out caution on that last lap it would have helped

Tom Blomqvist has been dropped by Meyer Shank in favour of Castroneves for Detroit and Road America in what is a move to get that no. 66 car back into the top 22 leader's circle. Blomqvist will be back in IMSA with that team for 2025 so he is probably not going to return surely Meyer Shank have to be looking at Malukas to take over that car when he is fit with Rosenqvist would be a very strong lineup

Tristan Vautier also making at return to Indycar for Detroit the latest ride hopper into Dale Coyne's no. 51 car

The track is a joke with nothing around the area that it could be altered dramatically, the race is now a corporate junket for General Motors so there is unfortunately no appetite for Indycar/Penske to go back to Belle Isle and they have a good excuse that Belle Isle is logistically awkward for public accessibility

The entire Canapino fans/Illott/now Pourchaire online death threats has been nuts and the toxicity is getting out of hand now

While Canapino is doing the right thing pulling out of the race if his head isn't in the right space he has brought this episode on himself, his non-existent condemnation over what Illott and Pourchaire have been subjected to and spinning it back claiming he has been subject to victimisation has been pathetic. Arrow McLaren 100% did the right thing cutting ties on their commercial partnership with Juncos/Hollinger

At least the non-cheat and most likeable in the Penske trio got a long overdue win. I feel Will has another championship in him this season

I'm sure Chip Ganassi will want to smack Armstrong over the head for that first corner disaster ruining Lundqvist's pole he will be blacked marked by Chip for that

Happy for Jamie to get that dominant win from pole it will quiet some of her sceptics, I still think she has alot of work to do and consistency to achieve before she can be considered ready for an Indycar shot but she has got a bit closer to that after this weekend

US Indycar fans are definitely not happy with NBC losing rights to FOX who's NASCAR coverage is not liked but you can see why Penske grabbed the increased cash with all 17 races live on the network as someone has to pay the increased bills for the teams with those new hybrids

That's a disaster for me as I have both Peacock and Sky Sports subscriptions. You would be hopeful the UK rights will remain with Sky with a bigger audience reach on their F1 channel rather than buried away in TNT as FOX have no skin in TNT Sports/Warner Bros Discovery, Sky still could do with studio coverage for all races like they had back in 00's/early 10's

I can tell you that the sentiment on r/INDYCAR is split maybe 60/40 in favour of the move, because of all races being on network, and all practice/qualifying and INDY NXT being back on a linear TV channel rather than being hidden on Peacock.

If you thought that team couldn't get any more ruthless with drivers then Zak Brown says gotcha!

So that's now Hinchcliffe, Askew, Malukas, Pourchaire all brutally sacked, Rosenqvist treated fairly shabbily aswell in 2022 and last but not least suing Alex Palou when they knew all along Ganassi had first option

One of the Indycar journalists suggested Arrow are pulling their title sponsorship of the team and Siegal's Dad's company Menlo Ventures has written a cheque to secure the seat. Siegel is young talented and won at Le Mans this weekend in LPM2 for Brown's team but there is no evidence yet on his Indy NXT form and few Indycar appearances this season that he is anywhere ready for the demands of that Arrow McLaren seat where their bar is to beat Penske/Ganassi unless money reduces the pressure Siegel will be under from Zak Brown

Arrows pulling out would have minimum impact, the Mclarens are amongst the best sponsored teams.

During Indy Tony Kanann was coaching Nolan in full Mclaren kit and its suggested that TK had a lot of influence in the decision.

I'm not seeing how they can hire Pourchaire an F2 champion at a higher level than Indy NXT over Siegel who is only slightly over year younger and then go and dump Pourchaire so quickly who was performing well unless there is some bag of cash involved. Well known McLaren are moving into Andretti's current facility next season and have had ambitions of expanding to 4 cars if Arrow are bailing it would make alot of sense to have that young development driver in the 4th car bringing full funding all teams maybe with exception of Penske have hired drivers bringing money to fund extra cars sponsorship is not easy in that series

Siegel has oval racing experience which Theo lacks , however Mclaren have seen something in Siegel which has prompted them to tie him down to a long term contract , and tbh he did OK for a rookie at Laguna.

Penske and Andretti have all reduced to 3 car teams recently so its hard to see Mclaren expanding to 4 ,apart from a 4th car for Kyle Larson at Indy .

Sauber are trying to place Theo with another Indycar team but it's clear that Indy have high calibre drivers and even F2 champions are going to struggle these days.
