I asked ChatGPT to compare some characters from two series of novels, by different authors but very similar subjects that I've been bingeing recently. It made a statement about one character's relationship to another. It got it wrong, stating A is B's mother.

    She's actually her younger sister.

    "You're absolutely right - ….."

Thanks ChatGPT you made my day!

The government’s fiscal position was already looking solid before the Apple-related juicing (see chart).

I do adore a good pun.

Don't want to bring politics into this light hearted thread but I do love somebody doing something exclusively as a giant FU to somebody/everybody else. Particularly if said person was scoffed at or something similar.

The Trump situation is the gold standard for this.

The visiting cat is busy purring on my bed. She's in a playful mood and has attacked my toes for the past few mins, but unlike other times the blankets are thick enough so her claws and fangs can't actually hurt me. Perfect!

Cutting the grass in November...it's so mild out.

Going for a run in a sleeveless top, it's usually layers and gloves at this time of year...

I remember, years ago, wishing that email had a "snooze button", so you could tell an email to go away until the right time. Then Microsoft actually did that, even calling it "Snooze", and Gmail and Apple offer the same or similar. I take it for granted now, since I use it so much, but I was reminded today of just how useful it is.

I really like boats. Get me to a port and I'm buzzing. I think it's like a trainspotter thing.

found my missing Ray Bans 😃, the case with them inside fell down the back of my bedside table. Whilst looking I also found the missing cleaning brush from my electric shaver, which is good as it’s a pain cleaning electric shavers with just tissue paper.

TH on a train to Dublin, it's very foggy out and as it is getting brighter everything looks very otherworldly in the fog and half light.

Just in case you lose the razor brush again, use a clean toothbrush. :)

It was driving my brain crazy that one of the posters I see every day was nagging, and I couldn't see why.

The candidate's name is Mary Mc Donoghue, well known and respected and has what seems like 1m€ worth of posters etc in the extended area.

Today I saw what the problem was, some of her posters weren't proofed well or at all, and her name on the ones in the towns did not have any capital letters in her name. Th'ed that at least I finally saw the error and as a dyslexic, that I saw it at all, let alone ages ahead of the printers/proffers.

Relationship experience lol at this: two male 20-somethings behind me at the Christmas market last night. they were chatting about how crap the stalls were! One said that his gf said she wanted to go and the other said yes it looks like a good place for a date.

Boyfriend said well I told her it's crap and not worth going to, but I'll ask her anyway. I can almost hear the annoyance when he asks her to go to the market he has already told her will be crap. Yup, none of mine would react well to that.

Election posters gone up and a local independent has posters that are battered, scarred, ripped and rough as a drunk badger, which leads to me to think they are the same posters he's used for years in multiple elections. Good for him!

Possible he just can't afford new ones every year, but when I see the millions upon millions of shiny new posters from the big parties, which will likely be in landfill in a few weeks, it makes me trivially happy to see such re-use.

One candidate for a big party in my constituency has been using the same posters for the best part of 20 years.

Was waiting for my winter clothing delivery from my favourite label, courier arrives earlier about 5 minutes before I needed to leave……lucky 🦥 as I’m out all day tomorrow.

I'm not usually clumsy but earlier, I was doing something at the sink/worktop when two separate things fell at the same time. I caught the first thing with my left hand but missed the second (a mug) with my right. I was expecting to hear a smash/crash but only heard a gentle thud.

The TH is that there was a 2 litre bottle of water on the floor, and the mug had fallen onto it like a hat plopping onto a head. 😊You probably couldn't do it if you tried.

A special mention TH goes to the weather report that described the current Status Yellow Warning for ice and low temperatures as "a yellow snow warning". 😄 It was on the scrolling text news on RTÉ or Virgin Media this morning.

Over visiting the brother and sister in law staying in spare room.

This caught my eye up on shelf -

Should I be contacting the relevant authorities? Who would they be? And would the two of them already know my next move?

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

It's not really trivial but I was in a charity shop yesterday. There was someone with special needs working there. The staff and all the the regulars were making such a big fuss of them.

"Do you want some cake", "Are you happy doing that", "How did you get on at the match at the weekend?" etc etc.

When you think of how people used to get left behind by society. It is such a joy to know that society now on the whole really look out for these people.

10 days later and the courier turned up again. There was some mix up as I haven’t ordered anything else and on opening the box it was the identical order, every item replicated … So I’m guessing some error in the dispatch / warehouse but I’ll be keeping an eye on my bank statement but 100% I didn’t order more stuff.. happy days though, bonus 😎😂

Stopped for food on the way to work this morning and got one of those hot dog lattices in the deli. It was filled with about a litre of that really nice mustard that makes them so lovely 🙂

Wanted to buy the triple vinyl reissue of The Lilac Time's Astronauts since it was announced months ago. Today is the release day. The Bandcamp site is charging £88 (€105) and wouldn't deduct the UK VAT even though I'm in Ireland. So if I ordered it, An Post would charge me 23% VAT - i.e €24 plus a handling fee of €5. A total of €134 which is pretty steep. It's limited to 1,000 copies worldwide so I left it in my basket and said to myself - "I'll think about it."

At 2.00pm, I got an email from State Savings saying I won €75 in the weekly Prize Bonds draw.

At 2.10pm, I got a Facebook message from a friend who said he was in Spindizzy Records in Dublin and they had the triple vinyl Astronauts for €76.99. "I think they do free postage to Ireland if it's over €75".

Ordered placed on Spindizzy website within seconds. Net cost of €1.99 - Sorted!
