You sure she said she bit him on the face? I thought she said she wasn't sure where she bit him?

When the jury returned, she said: 'The only thing I could move was my head, so my only defence was to try and bite.'

Asked if she did bite him, she replied: 'I did, yeah. I don't know exactly where, but I know he didn't like it so he flipped me around and had me by the neck and tried to choke me.'

This is the clincher. We have heard nothing from her friend that was also in the penthouse suite. Will she say that she didn’t hear any struggle from the bedroom? Will she say that Ms Hand was definitely going to sleep with Conor? Will she say that Ms Hand seemed fine and happy the next morning? If her evidence was favourable to the prosecution they would have called her already.

Can't see him giving evidence. Cross-examination would have a field day

everybody and their dog knows he did this , he's an absolute scumbag and well know coke head , but with his money he will get off again , only first time he has been named , we all know other times " irish sports star " has been labelled and not named him but we all know who it was

We did hear from her friend today who is a defence witness. Said nothing that would back up the accuser. I don't think the prosecution cross examined her.

Mc Gregor is telling the same story as 'Danielle'.

It's going to be hard to find him guilty unless something new comes to the table.

I’m sure it was reported in the case. At the beginning she was very reluctant, telling her mother “Don’t say anything Ma”, before opening up to the ambulance attendant.

But nobody else was present during the alleged rape in the actual room.

McGregor is alleging she propositioned him again (after first sexual encounter) and that they had sex again. If true, then you would have to wonder.. not sure anyone can back up his claim here, other than maybe his fellow-accused saying it’s true…

I would disagree strongly with that- “Danielle” was not in the room when the incident in question allegedly occurred -there is absolutely nothing she can say about the incident in question ….as she wasn’t present in the room

But she never gave any evidence to suggest she was in the room to witness anything. She commented on them when they had finished/left the room

Well, I’ll take the evidence of medical people, gynaecologist, sexual assault trauma people who examined and interviewed her following this over someone who was (like Ms. Hand) on drink and drugs.

And how could Ms. Hand be coming into Danielle’s room “while” the alleged incidents were happening.

I don’t want McGregor found liable for the sake of it. He’s still entitled to his character/name, but from what I have read it appears strong enough that the woman is telling the truth

I'm trying to get my head around her behaviour in the hours after the alleged attack. I remember a similar thing happening to a friend 30-odd years ago, where someone had taken advantage of her when she was practically passed out. I remember we left the venue and she was pretty happy on the journey home. It was only after she slept, and had the "come down" that she started to shake and feel awful. Back then there wasn't really a consent discussion. We went with the lads to a venue after a long night of drinking - it was definitely a case of "well what did she expect to happen". It affected her for quite a while afterwards.

But that was where there was a bit of a grey line (well, it was a grey line back then) about whether she consented or not, and there was no violence involved. The present case seems to be quite a violent rape. I just cannot understand - even while high and drunk - that you would want to stick around for more drinks for hours afterwards, when something like that has happened to you.

yes. This is something that people will ask. I am not sure it was alleged to be a violent rape as in “proper” violence, but more strength/restraint etc, which, of course, can cause injuries, as well as terrifying.

when you factor in drink, drugs, haze, confusion etc.. maybe Ms. Hand blocked it out for those few hours, couldn’t actually believe/process what had happened, and only later when coming around, realized the enormity of it all.

Not all victims of rape will act the same, and not all rapes are the same. There are levels/degrees, situations etc.

If she loses this case what is the story with costs ? Would it be no foal no fee with her own legal team if she loses ?

People go into shock after being raped. They also are not going to tell everyone there what happened immediately, as they will need to process it themselves.
